  1. Yeah becuase of global warming. What newspaper did you read that from? Have you... REASEARCHED any of these stats? No? Then don't repeat headlines. , They've been saying that since I was a kid. I'm still waiting for this great old age population to retire. It's been 20 years now since I first heard these headlines and I'm STILL waiting for this to happen. Or is this more Global Warming type junk analasys.
  2. All I'm doing is repearting what I heard on the radio: "A typical, older 3.5 horsepower lawnmowerengine can emit the same amount of VOCs in an hour as a new car driven 500 km." http://www.caledoncountryside.org/greenpow...-2003041201.pdf
  3. And the private companies would also partner (read pay) with our Universities to make medical training more accessible. I do realize there is also an 'elitism' problem in our medical schools and simply not enough seats or the will to expand them. I still believe in full 2 tier health care with private insurance and hospitals. Our employers can foot the bill. I don't thik the hospitals can pull a profit in Canada from the little amount of funding that they would get from the gov't. That's the part no one wants to face: we simply don't have or won't have the money to properly remedy our healthcare system. Thus, complete 2 tier is the only way. Seperation is the only way.. hehe pun intended.
  4. "said one of the 17 authors, Dr. P.J. Devereaux, a cardiologist and clinical epidemiologist at McMaster University in Hamilton. " Wow. A Canadian special interest group cherry picked studies for outcomes. This truly is laughable. I'm not even going to get into it. Go believe what you read. Every lunch our when I listen to the CBC almost each day there is some discussion about the degradeded state of our healthcare system. There's even doctors in Ontario paying for ads that are basically warning the public that our healthcare system is crumbling.
  5. Really? I thought the majority of Canadians polled said we should not go ahead with Kyoto although it's well intentioned. I can't remember. And this climate change thing is at it's head right now. Now we're seing the extreme statements because people involved know they are losing the limelight. I've lived through global cooling, the cold war, the AIDS scare, the heart disease/eat fibre fad, the UFO scare, and now we're focusing on global warming which, when the public gets educated, is just a media fad. People are getting educated and see through the scam. It's the same old anti-industry hippies that are at the forefront of this whole thing and all we are doing is chasing our tales and wasting money. Not only us, the whole world. Listen.. people want 2 things in life. Money and power. Money give you power. Power gives you money. Both give you happiness and fulfillment. The activists involved are after power. They want money from not working. They won't disclose how much Al-Gore got paid to be at the summit. The researchers are finally getting their work recognized and are recieving the funding they desire which allows them to play God and reign supreme over their collegues. In the end, people are all the same. And if Global Warming will get them their money and power then so be it. No one talks about how after the summit, John Baird and David Suzuki were at Bistro 920 in Toronto having drinks discussing issues. John was supposedly really tipsy. Even John Baird has gotten money and power out of this whole thing. Eventually, global warming will be a thing of the past and we'll move on to another scare, that will in turn, make certain people money and power and the cycle continues. Just like the tech bubble, it's wealth off falsehoods and is sure to burst. Think about it, Global Warming has done nothing but give people money and power. That's all it has done so far and is all it ever will do.
  6. That is false. I was talking about Samoli's in Ottawa where it was proven that the vast, vast majority of these refugees were on welfare. I didn't say immigrants in general go on welfare. Although they do use our social services.
  7. No the Sun is more right wing IMO. Working man's right wing. But of course there's giong to be left articles thrown in. The articles are shorter and more honest. Less intillectual and complicated. More big on the Leafs and sports. I think it's at a grade 7 reading level where the Nation Post is at a grade 9 or 10 reading level. A lot of their material is online. On the website today http://www.torontosun.com On the website: "Point of view: Liberal hypocrisy on torture"
  8. The numbers prove you wrong if the level of immigration continue: Does 50,000 people marching down the streets of downtown Toronto count for anything? Yes. The stuff the media doesn't show you. Oh yes and then suprise suprise, marching to city hall to throw politics into it.
  9. No. The application process is annoying and long. But he'll get in regardless. Now I challenge you to let me file papers to get into his country. Ah yes, I can't even try unless an employer sponsors me. And then I am not allowed to use social services. Yes. When your friend comes, he or she will just wander into our country with our high unemployment rate and his/her qualifications will drive down our labor market. That's a fact. We have too many people looking for the same job in Canada. Thus, high unemployement and low wages. Your friend coming here is the CAUSE of this problem. Don't you udnerstand that?
  10. That's 'Public Enemy' Don't believe the hype.
  11. Yes Immigrants do BOTH unless they are issued a work permit and told to leave after 4 years. If we have the above US style of immigration, there won't be any real immigration.
  12. Actually running an old lawnmower for an hour releases more co2 than a new car going 500km distance. Not that we have proven C02 levels cause global warming... just an interesting tid bit.
  13. While that's true, the polls are still showing ties.
  14. Sure I can liken people to animals. It's a free country and it's my opinion. Well there's no such thing as free country really... But nonetheless I have a right to feel the way I want about who I want. Naturally, becuase it doesn't agree with your viewpoints or 'sound nice', you choose the typical Canadian/CBC route of censorship instead of tackling the core of the issue - aliens entering into a city with the majority on welfare and upping the crime rate. (and yes I've posted numbers and articles to back this in the past). Instead though, I'm the problem - not them.
  15. Everyone is welcome to attend a public school. You are not welcome to attend a madresses or sikh school. That's the fundemental difference. Ok fine. Here are the turbans that we pay for: http://www.sikhchic.com/article-detail.php?id=122&cat=8 http://www.qp.gov.bc.ca/statreg/reg/P/Poli...4_76/564_76.htm "keep the hair and beard uncut provided that it is kept neat with the hair tied in a bun and concealed under the issued turban." And of course countless other articles but I've wasted 15 min on something to prove what anyone who lives in a Canadian big city already knows. See couldn't you just take my word for it in the first place?
  16. Oh Guyser. Why are you going to make me spend the next 8 min searching for article quotes to prove you wrong. How about this time you just take my word for it. We fund more than the turbans, we even fund their gudwara's and schools partially. We certainly fund their turbans also.
  17. Well that's what happens when headlines are released saying that we should expect to pay $200-$300 more per appliance. I certainly no longer support the CPC. I have no become the typical voter: I find the CPC the lesser of two evils.
  18. I grew up in Ottawa and saw it change with large group of welfare indolets came in and ruined the city. It's unreal how much trouble they got in with the police. Cop cars and so many domestic disputes. It was unreal. They were almost like animals. How could we ever allow this to happen to ourselves?
  19. This example is based on zero-sum thinking. The scenario of a house is key. There is only so much space available in your house and if a foreigner moves in, that means less space for you. Canadian and American history amply demonstrate that life is not a zero-sum game. A good marriage is perhaps better proof. Oh here we go. The walls of our house is our infrastructure, healthcare, and welfare state. Right now there are so many pepople pusing in the house that the walls are crumbling. Our country isn't limitless. It's very limited just like any other country.
  20. YES! I'm goign to go nuts!! I bang on the immigration drum because it's the #1 thing that is bankrupting our country in almost every concievable way. Immigration policy is good. Letting people wander out of the airports each day with no job prospects is not. Someone once wrote that if we had an actual work permit style policy, we'd probably have about 20,000 guest workers each year mostly from Mexico, Jamaica, and Portrugal to work the low paying jobs that Canada needs workers for. We have FAR too much backlog of grads and unemployed/underemployed Canadians waiting for white colar jobs. We've grown only in population, not in personal household standard of living. Poverty is higher than ever. The answer is not to let 300,000 aliens wander into Canada each year to re-unite with their families and use benefits. That is only to get the Liberal party of Canada votes.
  21. No. They are cherry picked. Let's do the REAL numbers. Forget age 22-44 and cherry picking. Let's count the gross people coming here and see how many are working. Ah yes, I already did that and even suprised some people on the forum who didn't care for me much.
  22. Just don't expect in invite to their wedding. lol
  23. Are you serious? You do realize we have a healthcare system that is crumbling don't you?
  24. Tsk tsk August1991. "Although Australia is a relatively high-immigration country like Canada (the country with the highest per capita immigration rate in the world, see Immigration to Canada) and the United States, other economically developed countries like Japan have negligible immigration.[28]" Link "The highest per capita immigration rate in the world" Link
  25. Alot of them may be non-white, but fully Westernized. I've work with quite a few visible minorities that are more 'Canadian' than I am most days. I dispute that most aren't white and I dispute that most aren't Westernised, I'm more willing to cede the former than the latter. Ok since I am an expert in immigration and demographics in Canada, I will say that off my memory you may be right. I think it's now at half and half. Half of immigrants are elderly from mainly 'white' parts of Europe. Example, my neighbour is Scottish but is old and retired. My other neighbour is German and old and retired. Have lived here about 50 years and are Canadian. If you hear a very old person calling a radio station the chance is very good that they will have a mild British, Irish accent or such. The Trudeau/Liberal immigrants are mostly from the thrid world and visible minorities coming mainly from China, India, and Pakistan (in that order).
