The Burka is tribal dress stemming from the Saudi's. The other countries coppied that. If you see a woman in a Burka she is a human slave. A slave like cattle. But a country or media shouldn't set the tone for culture as we do in Canada (the Charter and CBC). Only people should be able to do that. Us the citizens should determine our culture. Not a few dictators. Others cultures are pushed down our throats. Segregation is now being pushed down our throats. The palistinian christian girl (with an anglasized name i might add) is single. 30 years old and single. And so I knew of a guy who has a job and owns a condo. But He turned her down even before meeting her. Do you know what his reasing was? "My mother doesn't speak English well so I want my future wife to be able to speak Russion so she can talk to my mother"!!! LOL!! What a LOSER! That is the typical ethnic person response. And this guy looks as white as anyone else. But he denies he's Canadian. So he sits single trying to cling to something that he's not. This is racism. It's true racism. The real thing. The wife has to be russian despite him being white as bread and canuck as heck. This is what is going on with the young generation these days. Your culture should be like your relgion. Keep it private and within yourself. I'm sure many here have Irish Celtic CD's or Scottish stuff. But people here don't grab the CD's, waive them in the air, and tell everyone to look at them. They don't demand that the gov't fund them listening to those CD's. And furthermore, they don't claim that those CD's are what make them Canadian and those CD's is who they are. These people on this forum are Canadians. I never knew Geoffe was Irish and French until the topic came up. The reason why is because he doesn't try to grasp to something that isn't there or cling to something that basically accomplishes nothing. What makes you the person you are is your morals and how you treat other people. When you shut people out of your life because they don't meet a certain ethnic criteria, you are racist. It's that simple. I invited an old Sikh friend of mine to this party and she was the only one who didn't show becuase her and her arranged marriage loser hustband are completely, completely segregated in their own Sikh circle of friends and don't step out of it, despite most being born here, their schools were completely ghettoised and were only allowed to hang around other Sikh's growing up. Now I lost a best friend from Ottawa to Toronto Sikh segregation. And you want to support ethnic schooling that teaches 'culture and language' with our tax dollars? Wow what a segregated mess this country will become. That is racism. It's that simple. Leafless is not a racist. He's just right.

Well we're not that young. But most are born here or came here as little kids. I did say that this was an exception and not the rule. The rule is for Asians to associate only with asians. Indians to associate only with Indians, etc. etc. My friends are the exceptions and are multicultral. Or are we really? Maybe we're just all the same so that's what makes it works. I don't see how segregating schools is going to fix any problems.

I'm a Conservative also, but Tory is not a Tory. splitting up ethnicities and segregating votes is something that the Liberals do, not the cons. The schooling thing is far too important of an issue and I would not support any party that goes this route.

I agree completely. Culture is something that people can practice in private at home or on their own time. Kind of like religion. It's not meant to be like a flag that's waived around all over the place. We spend 5 billion a year on colture. I wonder how many hospitals we could build with that.

Thanks for all the friendly replies But that's just the thing. I only reallized this shortly before the post becuase I don't exclusively associate myself with one religion, skin color, culture, or place of origin. We had people from Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and out of country. All religions. Diff skin colours. But we all got along as Canadians becuase we are not racist and segregated people. You know it's funny. The CBC on a daily basis loves to talk about the 'changing face of Canada'. But what they are really doing is seperating ethnicities and creating buriers between them. This week on CBC radio they are goign to be talking about 'mixed race' Candians. Mixed Race. Yes.. they used the work 'race'. Instead of promoting people putting aside their heritage and race, they want to seperate it from one another. So you see, me. I'm multicultural. I'm the real thing. I'm SOO multicultural that I don't even think about. I don't even notice. We had this dinner party yesterday and about a dozen people showed up. Here's the different races and religions that were there: 6 Christians - Canadian caucasians (1 guy from Calgary, 1 girl from Ottawa, 1 from Montreal) 2 Christians - Goan Indian (husban was indian born with accent) 1 Christian - PALISTINIAN (no seriosuly she's palistian christian). 2 Hindu (1 doesn't eat meat.. also from Ottawa, another from Montreal) 2 Mulsim girls (both drink) So you see we had a wide seelction of poeple with different colours and different backgrounds. Some born here in Canada, some not. Most from Toronto, but almost half from elsewhere. But you know what we all have in common? We're working people. We are all integrated. We don't sit and harp on cultural issues and ethnicities. Not one person brought up their countries. Not one person brought up cultural issues. Everyone was color blind as saw each other as normal people. That's the difference. We don't go out of our way to bring up differences and harp on them. The muslim girls could feel comfortable dinking without people passing judgement on them becuase they were in the right crowd. Not one person asked what someones background or culture or religion was. People just didn't care. Why? Becuase we're multicultural. We're the real thing. We're colour blind and don't harp on old world idealisms. And when you hear the CBC, John Tory, and the Libs harp and harp on our 'differences' and trying to segregate us.. it's just too bad. That is segregation. Racial segregation that they are promoting. They promote racism. We are multicultural. The real thing. If you want to see real multicultural success stories, then come to a party of mine and you can see it first hand. (But this takes knowing the right people. I will say that most ethnic people I know are not multicultural, they are only about their own culture and choose not associate with anything outside of that. )

Yes. And that's why we should let people in only under work permits or investors. (like every other country in the world). And we also should select people based on skills. If we need manual labor workers, then that's what should he coming here under 'unskilled worker' like the US has. You wouldn't see many people from Asia at all coming here at all becuase they feel they are educated and above this type of work. Canada would see people coming from mostly just Portrugal, Brazil and Mexico. All Christians. And there would be about 20,000 people a year coming which is a more than 10x decrease in people. Housing prices would correct themselves, universities would be easier to get into, and education requirements for jobs would decrease drastically. Canadians would be bigger homes, have nicer cars, and then have more children. And hosptial wait times? What hospital wait times? That would just be a thing of the past. No politiicians pandering promisis for religoius schooling either.

I completey agree. And why are we letting these tax burdens into Canada anyway? If they aren't showing their faces, they can't take part in our society. Are they here to have 5 kids and collect cheques for all of them and then send them to ethnic schools that John Tory is proposing? Things have gone too far and we have to just cut these tax burdens off from stepping on Canadian soil. The burka is a burden. hehe

I agree. Canada has far too much education which is a BAD thing. I thin far less people in Canada should be going to university and rather go into trades and other labor where they are needed. They are saying that Universtiy is now becoming a form or extended highschool. In Ontario we have 17 year olds that can enter 1st year. That's just silly IMO. I think I'm goign to make my kids take a year off school after highschool. 17 is just too young to go into school. It's a great way to get into debt though.

Yes and all Canadian people who are not of those ethnicitis are encouraged to go to those returuants. I love these 'food' analagies that the left always bring up when describing different ethnicities. Women in Muslim schools will be told to wear a head scarf. The schools will be designed to keep non mulsims out of the school. The same also goes for Sikh's. The Catholic school board allowes everyone in and you can opt out of religion class. (I know, i went to a cathlic school. Uniform and all).

That's not true. Polls suggest that the majority of Canadians are Christians and identify with God. I rarely meet true athiests. My ex gf was an athiest. She was Sikh also. hehe People just don't like bringing religion into politics which is what might happen in a true disaster. You don't vision the scene of stepping outside your doorstep in the morning and having an Islamic school giving call to prayer. You will see kids all wearing white long pijamas, bowing down towards mecca, and a loud speaker with prayer. Right in our neighbourhood, promoting segregation, through our tax dollars. Anyone supporting this has got to be out of their mind. The reason why it's not happening right now is because they simply don't have the financial recoursces to build these kinds of schools all over Ontario and pay teachers. This takes billions of dollars to accomplish. Tory is promosing 400 million right off the bat. I really wish Tory was never around. He's a true burden on Ontario. I wish he'd move away so Canada can move forward.

I went to a Catholic school all my years. (although i'm not catholic). I can say that these are pretty much public schools with a uniform. The School of Sheriah will not be like this. Don't you support seperation of chuch and state? ISn't that what we're based off? I feel we are heading down the most dangerous rd. Progession is not to entangle church and state. That's what made the west what it is.

(edit:) He did this to his OWN party. He actually faught with his own federal party. I don't know if you remember the tough words he had with them. I was very suprised at the time. When they tried to ban cel phones from cars, he said no and that businee relied on cel phone communication. Actually remember that time a couple months back when they had some vaccination that prevented cervical cancer? He didn't flip flop and play politics, he immiideiatly ordered that all grade 8 girls get vaccinated. And these are $500 shots to get them done privately. He did this very quickly. When it came to ethnic schooling (becuase it's really not going to be religious. They are teaching culture and language also. These will be ethnic schools). he said that he didn't want to 'further segregate' ethnic minroities. I don't feel Dalton plays many politics. He seems to 'manage' the province.
