Fine then. I'll do so tommorow at work. Right I have to go to bed. I'm tried of always having to post facts to back my claims. It's very time consuming but I have't done so in a while so I'll do so again tommorow.

That is false. Canada's issue with immigrants being a drain more than a help is a newrer phenomenon that has been persent in the last 15 years. The stats you should be looking it are how many are living in poverty right now. Those that are lviing in poverty are simply not paying into the system. Ok Jennie. Lets try and make this more simple. Jennie, do you think it's appropriate to let people wander out of pearson airport with no job prospects, and have never paid into our system with free and easy access to our services when we do not have jobs for them? (keeping in mind that almost NO OTHER COUNTRY DOES THIS EXCEPT US)

It's proven we have a lower birthrate becasue we cannot afford to have children. We cannot afford children because we are taxed too high and real estate is too expensive. We are taxed so high and real estate is over prices because.. .we.... let... in... immigrants.

Hey bruce, i've been waiting for an outside Tory supporter (who is working for the campaign) to come in here and try to sway public opinion and here you are. I don't give a good God damn what the UN has to say about my country. We have a system that isn't broken, and we don't need to fix it. I'm not Catholic and went to a Catholic school. Catholic schools are like public schools with uniforms. They don't teach 'language and culture' at these schools. The don't promote racial segregation. But that's not the issue. The PC party should not be an idealist based party. Leave that to the Greens and NDP. If he had to bring is athiest viewpoints onto us ONtarian's, the least he could have done was try to end catholic schooling which would have been truly 'fair'. But no, he had to try to pander to the scummiest of immigrants entering Canada which are a small group of radicals who want to establish a power base. They had a good chance to win this election and they blew it. He should run against Miller next time around and enter into city politics where he belongs. -
Oh please. Don't make me go and refute those numbers. We're talking about the first years that immigrants arrive in Canada. How about the first 5 years. I heard those stats today about how they have double the unemployment rate. Immigrants that enter Canada, for the most part, are not very hard workers. They want hand-outs and feel they are intellectuals who want white collar jobs. You cant say that about Mexicans who cross the border.
-
Everyone take note. I heard today that things are worse than ever with 1/2 of all immigrants living in poverty. It's not due to educational recognition, but simply that Canada doesn't have all the white collar jobs that they desire.

Tory is an idealist. Someone who got into the CPC becuase of his connections. I've worked for a LOT of control freaks and *ssholes in my time. Tory is no different. He wants his things his way or no way. The difrerence is, at a company like Rogers, we are forced to obey what he believes is correct. In public life, he has to answers to voters and he doesn't seem to comprehend the difference. Even the CBC host said very nicely, "a good leader admits when he's wrong and changes his game plan, why don't you just admit that this was a bad idea and change your platform?". He just couldn't let go. He's like a lot of crappy bosses i've had in the past; they see things there way or no way at all. These people should not be leaders. Chretien was not an idealist. He was a 'manager' who simply did his job as PM. Trudeau was an idealist like Tory. He wanted to play God and shape and mold Canada into what he believed it should be. Idealists tend to get Canada in a lot of trouble. I hope my door gets knocked on. I can't wait till the conservative member knocks on my door becuase I'm goign to tell him what all the other people have told him over and over: "We don't want to fund other religions with our tax dollars, and tell your leader to go to hell becuase he's ruining our party"

I could't find my origional post to edit for some reason so I'll post the cite here: "I started this campaign defending the policy, but very quickly heard - loud and clear - while canvassing door-to-door, on the phone, via mail and e-mail - that the people of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound are predominantly against the extension of funding to faith based schools." http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive...7/24/c4235.html

It's beginning to dawn on me that you're a first year University student who thinks your opinion is 'more correct' than ours because you are in school and feel that you are somehow in a higher place in society. Lol.. When you get older you'll look back at some of your writings and laugh at how silly you were. That's why people don't take students seriously anymore. They are far too young, have wild social liberal communist idealisms, and are taught by poeple who never worked a day in their life. (assuming you work in the private sector and learn the cold, cold realities of the world). Oh no.. was this post a sexist hate crime? Let's examine. HEHEHE!!

Also the majority of immigrants asked are against this schooling becaue they know what will happen if we head down this slope. Mixing religion and politics just isn't a good idea and most immigrants do not have a problem with Christian schoolbards. I mean don't get me wrong, they would like to be accomodated to some extent, but certainly the don't expect to change things that have been here for 100's or years. It's a very small finge group that are trying to establish a new power base by getting their hands into the public cookie jar. -

But don't you see, that's where you are wrong. Tory is being the racist by promoting racial segregation which *is* racism. Segregation meets the definition of racism. You are choosing who you decide to associate with based on race. You choose what school you go to based on race. They will be teaching 'language and culture' at these schools. These will not be Canadian schools. People who don't live in Ontario really don't understand just how many ethnic schools there would be. This is not throwing some little group a bone. We are talking every 3rd school being a racial school. 52% of the GTA (which is about 20% of our whole country) is born OUTSIDE OF CANADA. 27% of Ontario is born OUTSIDE OF CANADA. I will not hear a call to prayer from a loudspeaker outside my house for the 'Pakistani Division of Islamabad Sperate School Board'. He is really retarded to be honest. -

Well we all saw it coming. It's over. There won't be a win for the CPC and I'm sure most Ontarians (even card carying members here on the forum) are breathing a silent breath of releif. The upward momentum just isn't there. And the below breaking news seals the fat of the CPC. It's breaking news so isn't on the sites yet. I heard it on CBC Radio: Basically a long time veteran of the PC party is officially not supporting his party leader in ethnic schooling and says he will vote against it if Tory is elected and will not follow his leaders idealisms. When team mates are fighting to keep there jobs and turning their back on their leader, it's a real bad situation and there's no turnining back. Thank God Tory didn't get elected. I don't know why he did what he did but he'll have to suffer the consequences. He can go to Alberta maybe and ban cell phones and racially segregate Alberta. Just don't worsen the Ontario nightmare that we live with every day. --- EDIT This post was the Opening Post of a previous thread once titled: John Tory - It's over. subtitled: Devistating turn of events for the Tory's. which is no longer accessible as a separate thread and this current integrated thread has been re-titled to convey accuracy and avoid spelling errors. As with all merged threads, all of the original posts from all of the daughter threads are preserved and displayed in chronological order. -
I agree. In Ottawa the phillipino's there were in many mixed relationships if not all of them. I even asked once 'how come they don't date each other?' The spanish for sure mix. The Portrugues and Italian do mix outside as well. Jewish also mix believe it or not. I'm sure we all know someone Jewish who has married mixed. But I guess these poeple don't view themselves as these minorities but rather as Canadians or people who are not racist. They don't spend the whole night talking about how 'brown' they are. Sikh's I personally found through ex gf's and friends to be the most backwards, most racist, most xenephobic people in Canada. I'll easily go on the record in saying that. (well Ok Muslims from Pakistan get the top honors here but it's almost like they are so bad they are in their own category. Like aliens almost).

Immigrants are here becuase we let them in. They don't care if they have oppurtunities or not. Use Xul as an example. He's not dumb. He knows there's not a job waiting here for him. It's common knowledge all over the world. What he does know is that he can collect cheques for himself and his children and use our services while he goes to school. Immigrants know they will not find jobs here and not have their credentials recognized: http://www.notcanada.com/ Canada is not a paradise of all these white collar jobs that we cannot fill. Go ask a University grad how their doing and how much their making. They might laugh at you. If an immigrant does work a good job, then he directly took it away from a qualified Canadian. This happens daily and also saturates our labor market which drives wages lower. You really have to be proficient with supply and demand to know where i'm getting at. Immigrants for the most part are not needed in Canada. Yes, unskilled laborers are needed in parts of Canada in very small numbers, but we don't need 300,000 people coming here when 1/2 are living in poverty now.

And you know I just might add that Betsy, who's opinion I agree with most of the time and respect, doesn't run all over the forum claiming that her voice is that of x culture. See she is really multi-cultural and has friends from other countries like me. Just becuase she's from x background, she doens't go around waving her home countries flag. She does say 'judge me becuae my home country is x'. Or 'hey in my country we do x'. And the bigger picture here is that some cultures DO indeed integrate better with us. Phillipinos are one of them. Almost every phillipino couple in Ottawa i knew was dating a caucasian or spanish or another Canadian and didn't ghettoise themselves. The parents never were racist either. Some people from some countries just integrate better. I don't think anyone here can deny that.

Every south asian I have ever met are supremists by definition. So much so that they arrange marriage and make sure that you and I are kept OUT of their family for racial reasons. They feel they have a suprior culture and are some of the most racist people I've met in my life. I have honestly never met a truly racists, white supremist. I've known kids back in the day who wore the doc martins as a fad to be cool, but never a true supremist. I've met PLENTY, PLENTY of 'brown supremists'. But ah yes. THey are vitims. THey are free of racism and can do no harm.

As always I completely agree. The 'new face of hate' is the 'new face of Canada'. That's what the article should have been about.

Firstly, modern immigratns drain or welfare state which is a proven fact... (edit: ... in Canada. Other countries benefit from immigrants.. an no. most of theirs are not from China, Pakistan and India. That is a Canadian specific phenomena). Secondly, that idealogical arguement of 'we're all immigrants' is nonsense and does't apply to reality in 2007. That's like saying 'we were all unisex beings at one time. Yeah in theory true, but not right now we're not.
-
Lord. You don't get it. Early immigration saw oppertunity that was never seen before. People didnt' come here for fun. Coming here was like coming to a land of oppertunity. You could just go and buy land and farm it. Cut down treest and ship them. Try doing that these days. Back then you came to the Americas to prosper. Today we are in another reality. Another world. Todays immigration has NOTHING AT ALL to do with historic immigration. Thus almost every country in teh world has a thing called a 'policy'. If an employer doest sponsor you in to work, you aren't coming. It's that simple. Immigration to the US is building the US. Immigration to Dubai is building the UAE. Immigration to CANADA is simplying ruining our country and worsoning each of our lives. This is a CANADIAN SPECIFIC PROBLEM.
-
Yes repeat the news paper articles. Please do. No one should be coming to Canada unless they have job lined up. This is how the rest of the world worlks and for good reason. I realize we'd have on 10 to 20,000 wokrers a year from south america and eastern europe only. Oh well. Too bad for India, Pakistan, China, and Jamaica. The free ride is over guys. It was nice while it lasted. So long. Good bye. Go be intellectual University schollars with 4 degrees in another country. Just stay the FCK out of here becuase you aren't needed and are KILLING our healthcare system and social services.
-
Heheh I agree. I love the loss of life part hehe but I agree with that too. Jennie I know you were trying to aim that post towards me implying that I'm some sort of racisist becuase I believe that people shouldn't come to Canada unless they have a job lined up and that some ethnicities have a far harder time intigrating with our society. But people here on the forum for the most part understand that it is not racism. HOWEVER, If you were new to the forum and were a lamen who never read this stuff and lived in Trudeaus CBC bubble, then these things might come as a shock to someone. Years back I said on another forum that I felt that immigrants who are NOT Canadians citizens, (perminant residents) should not be granted our healthcare services becuase they are using insurance that they have never paid into and it's draining our system. I also said that if there was a born Canadian, that we should always get first prference to the system and that immigrants citizens or not should not even be elligeable to use it until the have living here for 10 years. Well, people called me racist, I got kicked from the forum, and someone managed to get the IP address I was posting from and sent an email to my employer saying I was a racist and I violated hate laws. All becuase I said something which they dissagreed with. But there's always light at the end of the tunnel. One guy on the forum couldn't undstand why people took issue to Canadians citizens putting themselves first. So he understood. Things since then (London bombings, planned terrorist attacks on Canada, Tony Blair denouncing multiculturalism, CPC getting in power) have changed the climate in Canada and now you can atleast talk about this stuff openly. But wow just rewing 4 years back it was a completely different social climate in Canada.

What do Liberals stand for?
mikedavid00 replied to Canuck E Stan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Really? Please explain what fundamentally they have changed from the status quo of how we deal with our provinces. I haven't seen any changes.. When it comes to environmental nonsense, I don't see the provinces left to make their own rules. I see the feds playing Daddy. When it comes to grabbing taxes, then handing them back out to welfare provinces like Quebec, again, I see the feds playing Daddy and grabbing our money. When it comes healthcare reform, I don't see the feds letting each province decide if it wants private of public, DESPITE the fact that the provinces manager their own healthcare systems. All I see the feds doing are giving out money to who they feel who need it most and playing Daddy. When it came to marriages, the feds played football with this issue until 3rd quarter, but did not leave this as a provincial issue. I saw the feds making rules and playing Daddy to tell the provinces what they can and can't do. So Plese explain how there has been any diffrences in how the provinces are treated. -
In my opinion (which is backed by fact), we pay more tax so immigrants (such as yourself) can come and live in our country and use our services when you have never paid into them. That is just a provable fact. If we didn't have to sponsor in people who did not benefit our country, we would not have a broken social system and such high taxes. As long as the story of xul gets repeated over and over in Canada to the tune of 300,000 people a year, our taxes will rise slowely but surely with the majority of our immigrants livign in poverty even after 2 years. We tax payers foot the bill for that but eventually it will reach a head and explode. It's not Xul's fault though. You cant blame him for taking advantage of our system. And Xul, please don't insult the people here on the forum and make it like coming to Canada was a 'choice'. All it was was EASY. Not a choice. You had no choice in any other country. Now we have to pay for it.
