That's completely false. 100% false. Products we buy should drop in price which affect everyone. This gives the person coming to Canada and sitting on social assistance more goods at the end of the month. They have somewhat dropped prices in different areas and different stores. There is a 46 DLP TV now at BestBuy for $999. This is only because of the parity. This is why there have been all the 'Price Dops' that have happened the last 6 months. On the flip side, Americans now have no reason to shoot their movies here. This will cost 100,000 jobs in that industry. We are importers from the US and they are our largest trading partner. You bet that an on par dollar directly affects us. The challenge has been breaking the self hating mindset and getting sellers in Canada to lower prices to what they are. That is one of the few stores in Canada that have lowered their prices down to parity and might explain why it's such a succsful chain and packed all the time. So some stores are playing fair ball, most others like Ikea are salivating at the fact that they are self hating. Actually I'm goign to contact the media about Ikea. It's a very easy story to run and Ikea Canada can issue a statement to Canada and explain why their prices are 50% higher which is un excuseable. We make cars here in Canada for sale in both countries. The dollar is par. No terrifs. YET, they still feel they have to nickly and dime us 30-50% on each car. This is a phsycological issue. It's a deeper issue than price. It's a cultural issue. Those who defend these people suffer the same cultural problems of being a Canadian.

Lol.. ah yes. If he's from Iran then.. lol.. Certain countries get into Canada fastest by using Quebecs immigration. From there, you then apply to get Canadian immigration which is almost a given. Chinese people land in Montreal on a daily basis and are very well versed at working 'the system'. And yes they need a french test to get in, but those are all extrememely easy to cheat and falsify. Applying for special immigration to Quebec allows you to bypass the Canadian system and get in faster. Then after a couple of years people will move to Ontario and come work here claiming they know how to speak French and take the jobs. Their french is usually the worst, mangled, excuse for speaking a language you have ever heard.

I completely agree. Too bad Balinda didn't stick around. I feel that she could have been next PM after helping to remove Dion which would have been inevitable. Also I feel that the media was really pushing whatever the Liberal party said was law. Dion for a long time was making more headlines than our own PM. The media had over 10 years of Libearl power and I think they were very used to obeying their orders during that time. If you listen carefully to the media, you'll notice that they don't necessarily obey the Liberals the way they used to and I think it's taken a while for them to realize that they are no longer in power. The above statement is simply false. That statement you made above might fool the casual reader who is new to the forum or glosses over headlines, but that will not fool the well read people here on the forum who throughly investigated the Arar issue. The Arar family has spent the majority of time here using services and not working. That is a fact. The wife has only recieved hand out jobs in her very short working life. The husband has NEVER worked a real engineering job and has made his job to extort millions out of our gov't. You know little about their family and I feel the media has done an injustice by spinning the headlines that he was some sort of engineer and high standing citizen. He's been in the country this long and can still barely speak English. It's truly sad what has happened. He needs to be KICKED OUT NOW. This is a serious problem due to the culture of Canadians. We are a self hating bunch so we have to make sure we screw one another real hard. I find I still have to order stuff off ebay. There are rare exceptions and some products, but for the most part we still have to send our dollars outside of Canada which is very detremental to our economy. I'm redoing my kitchen and will be forced to buy my cabinets across the border becuase the will power to compete just isn't there. Edit: Most people here are of this cultural trait of Canadians (the self hating part) so have no idea what means to jump at the chance to lower prices or intellectually cannot understand why a shop owner would jump at the chance to lower prices. If I ever own a business, I will try my best to keep prices as low as possible. If I get the products for cheaper, the prices will go down as low as I can get them. This doesn't just benefit me, this benefits my customers and ultimately my country. But this logic is like the healthcare argument, it's far, far too against a cultural mindset for most to understand the benefits. Seems that the latest polls are out from Ipsos Ried and Tory will be going down. "Faith-Based Funding A Clear Loser For John Tory" Almost 2/3rds say that they do not agree with 'faith based' schooling. With that much vote, it means that the immigrants must have been opposed to this also. It almost seems like the 30% would be the caucasion vote alone so this is suprising to me. There are far too many Conservaitves and Libearls and probably the majority here that are more interested in being 'fair' and helping people who are xenephobic and want to ghettoise themselves away from Canada. The West are very fair, cosmopolitan people who are non xenephobic and not afraid of other cultures. But they are also nieve sometimes. The immigrants know very, very well what religious schooling means becuase they know how their home countries use religion and gov't combined to excersise control and power of the people and thank God the lights went on with these people and they realized in part what makes the west, the west. It's the fact that we seperate religion and state. Hi, I agree this issue has been burried in the Canadian media. What we have are terrorists now taking advantage of our generosity towards them. They are claiming land that belongs to them which does not. The bigger problem here is that we have a police force and gov't that is not enforcing law. Why? Because they are cowards. They are afriad becuase they know the natives will take arms and fight back as in Oka. You call Canada a great country. How can you when your healthcare system leaves you to die and your own police and gov't is not there to enforce our laws. I say that this county stinks of second world. Thse things don't happen in true 1st world countries. If I was in chrage I would send out a full milatary assult on them, and make them work for their living instead of a welfare cheque. I've said before that voting should be mandatory as it is in Australia. If less than 100 percent of people vote, then it's non democratic. I just don't bother becuase I live in an Islamic riding and I have an Islamic representative so there's no point voting becuase I know whos' goign to win. I was worried that my riding might go conservative becuase of the ethnic schooling but I have 4 Liberal signs in view outside my house and not one conservative sign. But this issue is so important that we're all going to go out and vote to be safe. And no, the Pakistani's down the street do not work. One family i know for a fact came with their life savings from Dubai and bought a house some years back. They have 2 families living in the house. I was friends with a guy that used to live in the basement apt there. He lived there with his ailing, old, and sick Dad from Pakistan who had frequent emergency room visits and eye surgeries. The family basically live off assistance and do nothing. Another family is strange. The wife doesn't work. That's a fact. She's very obese in her south asian clothing. I doubt she can speak English. She's Almost morbaly obese. She has like 4 kids living there. But what's weird is there is no man living there. None. It's the lady and these 4-5 kids. It's an odd setup. Maybe she collects cheques and assistance for everyone involved. She doesn't work at all. Defenityly a house wife or home maker. Then there's another Islamic house close buy. I think there are 2 families living there. They are out less often but the 2 houses will be going back and forth much of the time. They use Canada's services and none seem to be working. Mini-Vans come and go at all times of the day or night. They all have Libearl Party signs on their lawns as they overtake Canada's political franchise from the masses.

Canada belongs more to the person that pays the most taxes. That's the way I see it. If you don't pay taxes, or are livign off a gov't cheque in any form, then you should not get to vote. Yes that goes for gov't workers too. The gov't unions voting is a conflict of interest. Think about it. I pay taxes, I support the people in this country who don't work or work for the gov't (same thing). Thus, myself and others like me should be calling the shots - not a city union or people crammed up in a Sikh temple who have never worked a day in their lives and spend all their time writing into ethnic newspapers thinking they are intellectuals and 'great people' on this earth. And suprise, you would find that only 35% of Canadians would actually be eligable to vote in this country. But that's fair becuase it's US who support everyone else so you should have no say. People like me and Geoffery who work and pay taxes have to support everyone else. If you don't contribute, you shall not vote. End of story. There should also be a 10 year limit on citizenship before you are allowed to vote. Regardless of whether you pay taxes or not.

You don't have a grasp of the larger issue and the economic issue. The healthcare. Our borken healthcare system. Immigrants in Alberta are needed. I suggest you guys take all of them and scratch your head when you realize 'gosh, people really aren't coming to Canada to work and pay taxes.'. Gee I was young and crazy back then. Her FIRST WEEK there and she has taken the day off today (a Friday) and people are already frustrated with her. She got the job over several, much more qualified Canadians. Why were the Canadians more qualified? Because they can speak English. End of story. But no. Her company had to place all their credance on paper qualifications and try to judge the book by its cover. And now a Canadian has lost another high paying job to an immigrant that simply wasn't needed in Canada to begin with. A woman just here on a marriage. Ok look. Brazil is not multicultural. Look at their immigration policy. You simply aren't allowed to just move there. It's wont happen. Brazil is a harsh melting pot that has absolutely no tollorence for other cultures (like most other countries). In Japan, if you are the RARE person that EVER becomes a citizen, you have to pick a Japanese last name. They wont let you keep your own. There's a reason why the rest of the world believes in the melting pot theory aside from 3 countries (Canada, UK, Australia). The melting pot has proven to work. Multiculutrulism is a failed experiment that the UK has recognized.

Brazil has what most countries had at that time: historical immigration. Basically if you land in another country you can live there. Italian Americans are historic immigrants. They simply don't have direct ties to Italy and cannot speak Italian. Go to Italy and you will find a bunch of soft, feminine girly men who barely eat, are skinny, like soccer and don't say 'eh yo east side mario's'. Thus American Italian is a false culture. It's a sham. It's not real Italian culture.
