  1. Providing jobs whem there were none before?
  2. How are they subsidized? Corporations employ people and give them money. How many people do you employ?
  3. And everyone is richer for it. Theres no "corporate control". Corporations cant vote... Maybe a lot of people like being able to keep more of what they earn. Paul martin got it!
  4. I wonder if disney will pull the old star wars move and buy fox's rights to x-men out. Someones head needs to roll at fox. Star wars, x-men, fantastic four. Yikes!! Personally im tired of the comic book stuff. They keep "re booting" All the damn time. Cant blame them because its a goldmine in this fad.
  5. Venezuela kicked the bums out too!! Now theyre the biggest joke on the planet. Those socialists over there could screw up a 2 car parade Lmao!!Those venezuelans dont have a conscience. They think like you do and their country is a shithole because if it. Hell the columbians got their act together with no oil and used to being run by drug cartels! Have a computer thank a rich person! Have a car, thank a rich person!
  6. Failing people and giving zeros has resulted in us having a robust economy and one of the wealthiest places to live. Fear of failure is a powerful motivator. Sounds like you teachers should go to your universitieas and ask for a refund for that degree
  7. That doesnt make sense. The jobs your talking about are government jobs. There are only so many of those and society cant afford too many. So its the rich person taking a risk. Rich prople are hella rich right now because east asia isnt in the dark ages anymore and can afford to buy our products. I dont think you know what real poverty is. Canada has none of that compared to other places. Problem is that young people are going to have to learn to suck it up and do jobs that might not be desireable. Rich people providing jobs is not a myth its fact.
  8. English lit = crap Excessive amounts of science = crap French = crap Finance and accounting and exonomics should be mandatory to receiving a grade 12 so that kids know how an economy works and how to manage themselves. As far as failing kids and hurting their self esteem - lifes hard wear a helmet. They also learn a valuable lesson in that hard work = success. We cant be "happy" all the time
  9. I figure barely technical recession. If they are getting around a half a percent under, thats a wash. But itll hurt come the polls though as it still is a recession. If q2 is positive, thatll be a big boost to the tories. But now it depends on how good the states are doing as china is where the usa is circa 2007 as where their economy is. Its gonna suck for a bit.
  10. Agreed, its about equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome.
  11. Yes we can never have too much sociology degree people working at starbucks. All those kids drank the kool aid that a university degree automatically is the key to prosperity. Schools are too big and they cant fail kids anymore. Yikes!! Lets not even get i to the absolutely useless crap thats in the ciriculum.
  12. Which is why rich people create jobs, save money in banks, buy a lot of stuff, and invest in start ups. The system is fine. Just because some entitled university students without work ethic rolled the dice on a sociology degree and cant make any money at it doesnt mean everythings broken. This isnt the dark ages. The thing which got us out of the dark ages was merchants in italy telling the pope to go piss up a rope when it comes to the church's position on "usury"
  13. Why would harper remove the rule which is crushing his opponents from raising funds from bay street and unions?
  14. They also dont take into account that the volume if oil output from alberta is still going up. I spoke to a worker who worked on the newly completed imperial oil upgraded there and if what he says is true that with that new upgrader they can make a go at it for $20.00 a barrell. Thats pretty good for the projects that are already sunk If i were harper i would use this opportunity of low oul prices and thus lower costs if labour to find a way to hammer thise pipelines through. East, west, and hopefully south. (dont think a republican will win this time around). Since this is his last go round, fall on the sword, put them through and hopefully garneau (who seems reasonable) leads the liberals next election. Those people from BC need to eat some humble pie and stop gettinng in the way of progress. Its nice that they get to be well off, let the other people in the country benefit too.
  15. Picked the wrong side in ww1
  16. ➡️ Except that the numbers of people that went from peasants to the middle class has shot up. It was how canada weathered the recession as well as it did - by supplying the materials that the new middle class in latin america, asia, and the middle east use.⬅️ ➡️Yet it was the growth of the private sector whose tax money went to this thing. Im sure without an industrialized economy funded by the private sector that there wouldnt be near the funding for governments to start those projects. Its also private industry that has vastly improved the internet. Private business provided me with internet, not the government. Private business allowed me a rural person to enjoy high speed internet when governments could not do so⬅️ ➡️Same was said about trains, the assembly line, and automobiles⬅️ ➡️The working poor have become richer, theres more people in the middle class than ever before. Rich people are so rich these days as its a global market and there are far far more customers for products than in the 1950s. More customers means more money, especially if they just entered the middle class with more spending power. The middle class is stagnating as more people are joining it and there is a market being set on that type of labour which doesnt appeal to a lot of north americans (who want cheap stuff yet want things made in the usa at high wages, cant have cale and eat it too!)⬅️ ➡️Having the entire knowledge of the world in the palm of my hand, play music, games, and make calls. Not to mention for $100.00 down and $100.00 a month i replace my land line, big computer, cds, newspapers, radio, camera. That sounds like a sweet deal to me, considering how inflated prices are these days.⬅️
  17. I was saying that the smoke from the cigarette would have covered up a smell of booze or pot which is evidence of someone driving under influence. I would say the sudden lane change started it as vids on cops show drunk drivers all over the road then you get an angry person lighting up a smoke. Maybe they're drunk or high... Interesting was that there was thc in the body which you can only tell im guessing with a blood test.
  18. I agree. These guys are so well coached and prepared i cant see anything being decided at debates.
  19. I think the experts are saying trudeau "won" the debate as expectiations were so low for him that all he had to do was make it through without putting his foot in his mouth and to hang with the big boys. Check.
  20. Im wondering what the metrics are for a "win". It almost seems that a knockout punch = loss as it would be "bullying". Debate went as i thought. Dont be expecting anything different from harper, he will keep on playing it safe.
  21. Thats harpers go to for debates. Hes a seasoned vet at them and follows the game plan to a T. You wont see harper going for a knockout, just making sure he doesnt fluster. Heck it won him a majority the last time...
  22. In sk it was farmland obscenely overcalued and it took a good 25 years to get that nightmare dealt with. And it was a huge nightmare.
  23. Well it definetely got clouded by the smoke now didnt it.
  24. Thats up to mr bettman. Theres criminal court and then theres the meeting with the commish.
  25. Umm the lit cigarette? They tend to stink.Im not arguing that he lost his shit when he should not have.
