  1. Luckily in Canada we have lots of room and will continue to actively seek immigrants. The rest of the planet has to stop breeding. I guess when there is nothing else to do... I think condoms should be airlifted to every horny, over sexed, overpopulated country on the planet. Bought in huge volumes the would cost less than a penny. (Parody of the Christian Children's Fund) "You can sponsor a couple in a poor country for less than 10¢ a day. You can provide this family with the condom's or other reproductive preventative tools they need to have wild nookie without the squaky, starving kid 9 months later. Please find it in your heart to sponsor one of these foreign couples for only $3.00 a month or $36.00 a year. They'll be glad you did "
  2. The CBC sucking up to the party that is power how incredulous. Well of course they do after all who cuts their paychecks.
  3. And what other solutions are there. Yes after being involved in a food bank for 10 years there is the odd person I would like to give a boot. But there are so many more just trying to get enough to eat. So what are your solutions, let them eat cake. Watch out that can come back to bite you, the French could tell you about that one. Yes let them eat cake with a little ice cream on the side. Yes we are fortunate to be able to afford a social safety net here and Canada and I fully support it to an extent food banks, proper housing, work programs etc. However I see enough lazy ar*seholes that are unwilling to relocate for a job or don't want a low end starting position and unwed teens having their second or third child that we the taxpayer have to take care of it gets a little nauseating.
  4. So what? 'Conservatives like you' resent paying for anything that does not directly benefit you and would happily shut down the entire gov't. The general public is perfectly happy paying for CBC with their tax dollars. We are happy paying for it? I can see if the CBC had a plan to become less reliant of the Canadian taxpayer over a set period of time we could stomach a billion dollars subsidizing it. I do like CBC radio, news and documentary shows and HNIC are generally well done however the entertainment shows are LAME-O. Perhaps if they focused more on what they do well they would suceed without our money
  5. Muslims like every other religion have different beliefs and the actions to be taken when those beliefs are underminded. I think the PM is right to publically to speak out on intolerance even though he believes in free speech. Free speech however comes at a price and we must be wise enough to know when, where and how to use it and the impact it might have when the genie is let loose.
  6. Who the hell are you and what have you done with the real Spike? He has been sent away for a retreat at the Intergalactic House of Fruitcakes. I am filling in for him until his return to earth from the mothership. Spikette21
  7. http://www.ighf.org/home.htm (in case you already did not know it) is my religion.
  8. I am old and have given up all hope. Let the homosexuals marry, they should have all the same rights as those with children. In their case if they cannot have children naturally (impossible) then a large dog (or other large domestic animal) that the couple cares for would let them qualify for child tax credits etc. Also if one of them passes away they would be entitled to all of the same survivor government benefits ie pensions, medical plans and the like. Now who will pay for this increased cost and what is the estimated price tag attached with these changes? Now I have to go get ready to crash the women or is that men only, lesbian transvetite mud wrestling event - hope they let us in.
  9. This guy is like the Eveready Bunny he keeps going and going...he is going to be 69 this year so his time in the position might be limited. Does he not want to retire or is power/position too great to turn down.
  10. This is the funniest forum question yet. Good to start a debate however the communist party of Canada would fight tooth and nail that the NDP would be stealing thier ideas. Don't think there is any support in Canada's a communist party? From the CPC's own website: The Communist Party's own electoral campaign registered a modest improvement in the average vote among our 21 candidates, despite the highly polarized character of the election and the backward, undemocratic first-past-the-post electoral system. The campaign raised the visibility of the Party through increased coverage in the media, at all-candidates meetings, and on thousands of doorsteps. It is particularly significant that our party website received almost 100,000 visits (more than 4.2 million hits) during the campaign. Many more working and progressive-minded people, especially youth, are interested and attracted to our policies and socialist perspective. YIKES!
  11. Anything that reduces my taxes and puts more money in my pocket is OK by me. However I don't think we need to spend even more on other fed programs - how about more breaks for the majority of us Canadians by returning some of this surplus back to us.
  12. I personally thought the gun registry was a good thing when introduced and wondered why all guns were not registered already (something that could injury or kill should be controlled/regulated/tracked IMHO) That being said the program cost is rediculous. Fifty grade 8 students armed with a Micr$haft Access database program could have done the same job and worked for nothing more than movie tickets and video games and got it done in a much shorter period of time.
  13. He wants to be so buddy buddy with Quebec they won't want to seperate - at least I think that is the conservatives strategy. This relationship will also prove valuable in the next election by (hopefully)gaining more seats in PQ. I see that the feds will maintain all existing Quebec exclusive programs like their highly subsidized daycare and more government contracts for firms like Bombardier (new search and rescue aircraft for the CF is one particular item). I expect more of the brown nosing by both the premier of Quebec and the Prime Minister to get their agenda's moving forward. [The difference between a brown noser and a sh*t head is depth perception]
  14. Maybe not close - it privitize it. No one is forcing you to buy products from the companies that advertise on Global TV. But someone is forcing you to fund the CBC. For an organization to succeed, it must satisfy the needs of its customers. A look at the ratings for CTV and Global indicates that they are more in tune with the general public. They have more viewers for their regular programming and for their national news programs (Lloyd Robertson-957,000 average viewers, Kevin Newman 771,000, and lastly Peter Mansbridge with 648,000). The CBC is the only station allowed to have a 24 hour news channel which is hostile to conservatives--hostile to me. That's why I resent being forced to pay for it. If their views are in tune with the general public, then they should be cut off the govt tit and see if they can make it on their own--like Global and CTV. The annual $1 billion saved could go towards lower taxation, more cops, and strenghtening our depleted military. Better priorities in my book. How about more tax cuts instead of continually spending our $$$'s. Ever look at how much government services we already have in this country. Cut bureaucracy within the entire federal government. (I am sure the civil servants will love this). I have seen more useless positions creating meaningless reports/studies etc. that never see the light of day but seem all so important to the departments doing them and you ask yourself when reviewing this nause "is there any benefit to Canadian taxpayers with this S**t?" The answer invariably is 'NO', however you get sucked into this federal civil servant mentality within any fed department(CBC, tresury board, PWGSC etc) that this is the way the organization works and you just kiss 'The Man's' ass. Someone has to stand up and stop the insanity - spending taxpayers money to study the sex life of fruit flies. Come on now...wait a minute that might make a good CBC documentary or 5 part mini series [estimated pricetag $1.2 mil]
  15. The BBC funding is always brewing there. Unlike the CBC they actually have a lot of programming that people including us foreigners enjoy. [yes they have dud shows too]
  16. What ever happened to being sensitive to one another? What happened to common sense and respecting peoples feelings. Does anyone nowdays look at the impact their words, pictures, actions etc might have on them. Let us all be respectful and ethical in our deeds and actions after all we are only here for a short period of time and we should all strive to make this world a more harmonious place to live.
  17. This just in... "Prime Minister not distressed just constipated". "It was a typo in the media" responded by spokesperson Dr Upyerbum, proctologist.
  18. What is the big deal? It is the normal ass kissing to the premier of Quebec. The rest of the premiers will get their meeting in order of priority. Nunavut, Yukon, Newfoundland etc will be last no doubt.
  19. Liberals what is it about them? I have a friend that admits to being one. We accept her in our home. We let her ride in the same section on the bus and use our restrooms. She also has good grooming habits and is kind to animals and children.
  20. I knew they had a secret agenda. I best not sell the old Lada just in case they ever get elected and I want to blend in...the BMW will definitely have to go.
  21. I don't know why, but all Spike's posts remind me of this. crazymf I think the old Black dog just might have developed a sense of humour. (Hit the crack again eh dog?)
  22. Sure he should go. It would be a great time to grandstand and beat his chest when the Canadian teams bring home the gold.
  23. Tsk tsk Harder and Black Dork the gay fella's swaying the votes again...I knew something was up.
  24. He is cardboard man so rigid looking. Maybe once he takes the packaging material out of his shirts he can lighten up.
  25. The violence around the world by the muslims shows that they do not turn the other cheek and ignore these types of things directed at their religion. Scary isn't it. If we freaked out everytime there was an anti-christian/jewish article, cartoon etc we would all be protesting and destroying things. What is it inherent in their faith outside of north america that makes them go ballistic? Is it a different form of the religion than that practiced here? Lighten up muslims it doesn't reflect well on you.
