  1. I think the allpoliticsnow.com site is talking about two Winnipeg papers being one-sided. Where is the one taking an opposing view?? The Toronto Star? It's got the biggest readership in Canada, you can't disagree that it holds the most power (or can you?). OK in Toronto anyway. As for one taking the oposing view boo hoo if they both have the same view. Listen to the CBC for the pablum puking left nause.
  2. Between Gore or Bush who is the loonier one?
  3. There will be a s long as we generate enough taxpayers to pay into the system. Now we just have to get more immigrants into the country to pay for it...
  4. NDP demanding a probe on Emmerson case - probe this NDP... there is going to be no probe plain and simple. You keep Sven Robinson as a NDP cardholder and go away!
  5. This just in...Sven Robinson will cross the floor to the liberals. Scott Brison and he will wed and co-lead the party to harmonious bliss where they will paint the town of Ottawa a lovely shade of pink and periwinkle. Tax breaks will be issued for those males enrolled in ballet and fashion classes.
  6. NDP gone? - Great is there some paperwork to sign to eradicate the party - count us in!
  7. Reality is no one knows their condition apparently. I am sure they are working the issue the best they can and it is really discouraging no doubt not haveing the answers for the family and Canadian people.
  8. I like this idea. As they hold one of the most powerful positions in the country they should be accountable and have to answer a few questions; like are you a homo, do you have a handgun, are you a left wing liberal tree huggin' granola cruncher? What's the harm in this process? (I can hear the lawyers spinning up now hehe)
  9. Like all groups there are some radicals. However I think the world muslims (especially in places like Pakistan and other countries where the radical muslims originate) could do a better job expressing their displeasure of violent acts. Seems to me they should all be on the same page. Is there not the equivelent of the pope or master leader/grand pubba that can speak on behalf of the religion? We even have 1 muslim leader in Pakistan offering $1 mil for the cartoonists head, is this normal for a suposed peaceful religion. Imagine if we freaked everytime Christ or Moses or Budda was made fun of we'd all be in the looney bin.
  10. Let me explain Drea in a non-crazy manner. This country won't register criminals because of their rights. It took alot of teeth pulling to get the pedophile/sex offender registry. Yet it was no big deal to register all gun owners. It's like we are classed below pedophiles and violent criminals. It's not justified. The only wrong many of us have done in the government's eyes is own a gun, and thats simply unjustified. You both are a little unstable - we are all getting a little nervous in this forum. Stop freakin' us out you two...
  11. Preparing for a Divorce Skip all that legal stuff -Steps to be taken: Run Forrest Run - do a google search for a country she can't come after you. Empty all accounts to offshore account. Live in straw hut with mn 1 scantily clad nympho native women Live on bananas, coconuts and rum Die young with a smile on your face.
  12. A statement for a bunch old windbags(self included) which means absolutely nothing. Bottom line - they would love to boost their profits and sell more crap to you.
  13. The NDP won in my grand-daughters high school. Looks like nationally in the student vote the NDP came second to the CPC.
  14. Don't be so quick to dismiss our ability to get hostages out. Canada's special-operations troops are the second-best trained unit in the world, bowing only to the UK's SAS. I thought Israel's got the best? One we don;t know where the hell they are. Two we have no air assets of our own there and aren't even deployed in Iraq (AKA one of the 12 a**hole nations on the planet) and yes out boys are well trained. As who is best who knows most of these spec op units are very highly trained in all countries of the world. Maybe they could participate in reality TV show "Battle of the Special Ops".
  15. I bet 90% of these people didn't know where Denmark was before this. I bet at least 50% still don't. Most are as thick as a Gurkha's foreskin and could not find thier own country on the gloge. Two IQ points higher they could be a stump, dummer than dirt but being used well by their propaganda machine.
  16. After being given shit by everyone including Don Cherry for NOT slowing down, I bet you they finally did. I feel sorry for those who paid big bucks to see the best team play for the gold ..... I'd ask for my money back if I found out they were slacking off. And what about the TV viewing audience. Would YOU watch if you knew they weren't putting their hearts into it? Yet our #1 public intellectual, Don Cherry, thinks nothing of it. He's not too bright, is he? Neither is Father Raymond J. de Souza, in this instance. He's going absolutely nuts about it. LOOK: http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/is...3b-68a9efb498d9 Here's an excerpt from de Souza's article titled "Not the Canadian way": """In the real world, the Olympic Games are more about national pride than athletics. Strip away the patriotic medal count, and you would be hard-pressed to find an audience for most of the sports. Therefore, on the grounds that the Olympics are primarily an occasion of national pride, Canada should lead the drive to drop women's hockey from the 2010 Olympics. And if it must be held, Hockey Canada should decline to enter a team. It's bad enough to feel awkward about our national team when it's across the ocean; it would be intolerable on home ice. "To run up a score like that, that is wrong," said my fellow Kingstonian, Don Cherry, of Canada's 16-0 defeat of Italy, and 12-0 defeat of Russia, before they went on to beat Sweden 8-1, Finland 6-0, and Sweden again by a count of 4-1 in the gold medal game. "First of all, it is not the Canadian way." No, it's not the Canadian way, and it should not happen in 2010 on Canadian ice. Women's hockey simply does not (yet) belong in the Olympics. Outscoring the opponents by a combined total of 46-2 is not a competition. There is nothing sporting about it.""" Souza's just another moron writer let loose on a pass from the nut house. Hopefully they will not cancel women's hockey, they have worked very hard to bring the womens game to millions of fans. It is nice to see hockey once in a while without the hacking, slashing and fighting. Way to go girls - ya hammered them...now is we could get those millionaires off their arses to win the gold.
  17. They will just come back reincarnated as some other conservative party. Any suggestins for their next new name?
  18. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...PStory/National In an unprecedented move the CRTC has decided not to return money you and I paid in overpayments but to use the money for other things like high speed internet. Another reason to kick half the useless twits there to the curb...your thoughts?
  19. This applies to very, very very few people. This argument may have been slightly valid as recently as the 80s, but not any more. People without cable in both urban and rural areas have the same TV and radio reception as always on the airwaves, and would typically receive 3-4 network channels, inclduing English CBC and probably French CBC. For the North, virtually all communities now have individual acess to satellite, or frequently communities have a system that rebroadcasts to the whole community with the same channels enjoyed everyhwere - scores of channels. Nobody is watching or listening to CBC there either, even though CBC radio/TV used to be the only show in town. Just like their southern cousins, Northerners left the MotherCorp in droves when given the opportunity. Some Northern communities also have community radio broadcasting in the local language. FT I could not agree more who the hell is listening to the CBC anymore. CBC radio in the afternoon is even low grade entertainment ie Sad Goat, A book reading - yawn etc.
  20. Diplomacy, doing it the right way. Then we have the normal Pkistan reaction - "In Pakistan, a cleric has announced a $1-million US bounty for killing the cartoonist who drew the caricatures." What a dump Pakistan is. One of the real arseholes of the planet no wonder Osama lives there - good spot for him.
  21. Just to be clear, no, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that I think it's a good idea to provide an electronic media source that contains Canadian content for those among us that have no other access. Barf - Canadian content laws. CRTC/gov't always protecting us from the big bad boogeyman. Living in fear that beacuse we don't have shows like the Beachcomers, or other crappy show we will be totally consumed by americanism and we'll start flying the stars and stripes on all of our homes. What protectionism, what a good parenting the government is to us. Treating us like dweebs and forcing us to pay for this drivel. Lets be free - get rid of the CRTC and it's antiquated content laws and privitize the CBC. Fredom means choice to the people not entertainment enforcement.
  22. By the absence of responses there sure aren't many candidates for the lib leadership...heard it was a pretty good gig lots of perks and kickbacks.
