Ahhh.....I think I get it now.
This is a political position for Trudeau: standing up against Saudi Arabia (over human/women's rights). Of course, Canadians will unify behind their Prime Minister against a tyrannical Saudi Arabia......which is good for the coming election.
Just look at the photo ops with Freeland. How many refugees are personally greeted and embraced by a foreign minister?

And of course Asia and family are still in hiding. I guess she doesn't qualify for help since she only spent eight years in solitary confinement while awaiting execution for committing blasphemy by drinking from a cup that was for Muslims. I guess she's got it too good, hiding with her family while the majority of a country looks for her so they can kill her, and presumably her family too. Or...they just don't make for as good a photo op. Go Libs go!

Yes. Don't get me wrong - I don't resent asylum being offered to this lady who renounced Islam, but it's the non-response to a Christian, that's grating.
Furthermore, this lady had Australia as her choice - and Australia was on the verge of taking her. And, unlike the case of Asia Bibi - there are other countries that expressed interest. There was no need for Canada to step in.

What's up with Halifax? Taxi drivers getting charged with sexual assaults.
Basam Al-Rawi faces a charge of sexual assault, after an acquittal was overturned last January by the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.
Seyed Abolghasem Sadat Lavasani Bozor, 74, was charged with sexual assault and was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Tuesday.

I suppose, it depends on the motive. Some older people want to have young mates to boost up their self-esteem. We have "boy toys" (who can forget Cher?), and "cougars" for women - a term if not mistaken I think, popularized by Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher. There's no denying it that younger people are quite attractive. Lol, when you reach a certain age (as in old age) - all young people look pleasing to the eye! It depends too what age you both are. Women in their forties could comfortably settle nicely with a much older man compared to a woman in her thirties. Realistically - especially in this day and age - it's almost impossible to keep that May-December relationship long-lasting.

Well, maybe only the most blatant ones should be reported. If it isn't blatant trolling, it's open to interpretation.....otherwise, it'd be blatant! Like, I don't see the bragging posts about the USA as "trolling"..... after all there is indeed an attitude among some Canadian posters to belittle the US President. Our own Justin Trudeau had done so (doing a bitchy snide swipe) at every opportunity he got. In fact, he's been pontificating to other nations about the "values" of Canada, which apparently is now grating among Canadians (according to pundits on Question Period)! Lol. If this "holier-than-thou" is getting on the nerves of Canadians - imagine how it must be for other world leaders! This is a political forum. The "bragging" is political. It is personal attacks that are the serious crimes in a forum. Trolling, not so much...... And please, I don't want the mods to be deleting posts just because someone reported it as "trolling." That's what's happening to some forums (including the one started by smallC). It doesn't fly. Those are the forums that eventually end up getting really dead.

We should be rooting for Trump's border wall between US and Mexico - the USA will be like a buffer for us! I think, a lot of migrants from that side of the world will eventually be eye-balling Canada for all the socialist goodies we give. -

Something I notice in my little city - people greet using "Merry X'mas" now. In fact, I notice store clerks perk up when I greet them Merry Christmas - and with big smiles (like they didn't expect that greeting), they enthusiastically answered right back the same! Never heard "Happy Holidays" at all! I suppose, that movement to eliminate "Merry Christmas" was a short-lived thingy.....at least, in this part of the world. This place is quite diversified too.

Maybe, use the same forum software that Debate Politics is using. I don't think it ever had that problem, and it's so smooth to use. I don't get notifications from here, and I didn't get any emails. Also to help out Charles, why not ask posters to volunteer (and give them the power to delete spams they see)?

Sentenced to 3 years in prison. Cohen - according to prosecutors - "did not fully cooperate." I guess that means they didn't hear what they wanna hear from him.
But the question is:
What's keeping him from fully cooperating? He's already burned his bridges with Trump - so why didn't he fully cooperate?

Because he's charged with doing crimes he was paid by Trump to do, and because a pardon involves an admission of guilt, Trump can't pardon him without implicating himself further.

He wouldn't pardon him anyway because he sang like a canary. I have heard (but am unsure of the accuracy) that his refusal to answer some questions was based on an unwillingness to flip on the mob, but that he flipped on Trump hard.

The school should be made to stop using the term Christmas to describe their festivities. Christians groups should take that up as a challenge. That's a form of misappropriation.

If you read the CBC story, you'll see that wage growth for full-time workers has been stalled for years now. They've dumbed down a number of industries into lower paying jobs, by hiring immigrants into entry-level positions with a low wage. They in turn are willing to take the low paying job, as starting over in a new country means you take what you can get. However these are the jobs that were traditionally held by young people, "junior positions", are now being occupied by adults who are willing to do the work of a junior, and even more.
Result: China-fication of Canada
