  1. They want CPP to invest in the 65 year old leaky pipeline.

    There goes your pension.

Trudeau already took 4.7 billion from CPP to pay for it. Now he's thinking about using CPP for infrastructure. What happened to all the money already designated for infrastructure?

  2. Let me get this straight: They want pensioners to invest their hard-earned money and security, to a 65 year old pipeline.......... which was bought with their own money. A 65 year old pipeline that cost us 4.5 billion - which we could've gotten for free! There goes the pension plan.
  3. They're asking the CPP board if they wanna invest in this leaky 65 years old pipeline. Are you interested?
  4. Indeed. If Kim Jong Un could set aside his pride after all that has been said about him.....why couldn't any leader do the same, if it's for the good of his own country? Kin Jong Un had deferred to Trump. A Korean explained the Korean culture - avoiding to look straight in the eyes is a show of deferrence. Part of diplomacy and tactful negotiation, is being able to somehow understand Trump. Trump is bombastic.....he talks loud.....and he didn't say anything we haven't heard before in that press conference. That's how he is. Didn't they review how he talk in all his rallies and conferences with the media? Didn't they do their homework? So Trump was talking for his domestic audience. Trudeau should've just let it go, should've not let pride get in the way. He should've just kept mum and focused on the positives.
  5. He wants a bilateral deal - and he's got a good point. Mexico and Canada aren't the same. Yeah.....pound sand, indeed. Bravado means squat in this grave situation, if this escalates into an all out trade war. We don't feel the hurt......yet. Looking at the faces of our former leaders as they talk about this - this is really serious! Lol, you can't even say "ride this out until he gets booted out." What if he got re-elected? We're facing a few years of this! Investment has practically fallen off the cliff - that's what Ambrose said! Pound sand, indeed. Trade war, let's talk about this in a couple of years....... ........Canada will be the one who'll be eating sand!
  6. For his age - and the kind of pressure and tension he faces, not to mention the grueling pace - the stamina of that guy is quite amazing. If there's anyone who'd be a candidate for a heart attack, you'd think it's gonna be him! A big, historic step has been achieved.
  7. Add to that, I think they can now take away kids from parents who refuse to have their kids have transgender surgery upon request! I don't think parents are allowed anymore to tell their kids that homosexuality is a sin. There's intimidation from the government against speaking negatively about LGBTQ, and abortion! It's a lunatic bin we now live in. A lot of them may seemed to have resigned themselves - and just go along "if you can't lick them, join them."
  8. I've spoken about homosexuality from a Christian perspective (Biblical references) - it's in religion section. I'm against the curricullum ed imposed by Wynne.......and hoping Ford will do as promised.
  9. Can you please provide a link to your source. If I'm not mistaken, the video I gave of interview with Kudlow was from the CNN.
  10. That's not what Kudlow and Morneau said. Morneaua had told Evan Solomon in Question period yesterday that the bilateral meeting between Trudeau and Trump was progressing! Here's the clip from that! Timer 1:47 Also 3:35 - 5:30 It's a very frank interview by Solomon. A must-see. https://www.ctvnews.ca/qp/
  11. No, he didn't say that! here, watch the first 3 minutes....he explained! He said that Trump signed the communique - Trump and Trudeau were close to reaching a Nafta deal in their bilateral meeting ....and then, Trudeau went on to say what he did!
  12. Pro-Trudeau pundits are saying about Trump's angry tweet, "well, Trudeau didn't say anything that wasn't said before." My question to them: then why did Trudeau came out repeating them (when apparently their bilateral talk behind closed door was progressing - that's according to both Morneau and Kudlow). Big deal that Trump made a "chest-beating" farewell press conference. Trump didn't say anything we have not heard before, either! Trudeau should've just ignored it at that. he shouldn't have reacted at all! he should've just looked at the bigger picture. The truth of it all........Trudeau couldn't stop his big mouth from running.
  13. Rona Ambrose admitted it. Supply Management is a POLITICAL "sacred cow."
  14. Who's more trusted???? Investors know Trudeau is fighting a losing battle!
  15. Ford has no choice but to stand with Trudeau on this. I question Scheer's push for retaliation right away. Retaliation will only bring counter retaliation - we can't win that. I tend to agree with McKay......try to de-escalate, as much as we can.
  16. It makes me question if Trudeau and Macron really wanted any solution with Trump! Could they both be thinking of their politics - like, using Trump to unite their citizens (France and Canada) behind their leaders? is that the end game? Uniting all Canadians behind Trudeau against the tyrannical Trump?
  17. I noticed that too, and his body faces more towards Merkel.
  18. Need I remind everyone that the trade talk was supposed to be the most important issue for the G7? So what the heck is the host of this expensive summit doing, by going along with Macron?
  19. Macron seems to be another impulsive hombre....... https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/07/politics/trump-g7-canada/index.html So.....Macron, had set the tone for the G7! Hostile and combative! And the host, went along with it! Those tweets had made Trump determined to dig in! What a doober.......
  20. Btw, like Trudeau, Macron needed to score badly! Labour, welfare reforms plunge Macron’s popularity ratings to record low http://www.france24.com/en/20180323-france-macron-popularity-record-low-strikes-reform
  21. Macron came to Canada earlier to meet with Trudeau. To discuss their strategy with Trump. https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/trump-calls-trudeau-indignant-on-eve-of-canadian-g7-summit-debut-1.3963253 I don't know. These two together, kinda remind me of .........mischievous pups. Macron looks to me, to be leading Trudeau. Trudeau is following Macron's lead. Trump's hand left with thumbprint after Macron handshake at G7 summit https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/politics/trump-macron-handshake-g7-summit-thumb-imprint-a8391496.html If what anti-Trump say about Trump is true, that he's an irrational, ego-maniac - then all the more so that Trudeau should know better to keep from provoking this guy. If my hunches are right.......what Trudeau plays, is a very, very dangerous game for Canada. But I think it's too late now. Trump is collecting: Trudeau is going to pay the piper for all his previous self-serving potshots. Maybe too......from now on, Trump will refer to Trudeau as "weak Trudeau" - kinda like the "crooked Hillary" moniker he'd given Clinton.
  22. That's your opinion, Argus. Funny thing, to Trudeau.....it's all about making himself look good to his audience. Starting from the time he inappropriately took part in taking pot shots at Trump during the primary race - and several times more deliberately timed to show him in contrast with Trump (refugee policy - which we're now paying for, his diversity speech in NY - which we know is a lie, at a crucial time of negotiations with NAFTA). He was making himself look good at the expense of Trump! His coziness with outgoing Obama (passing the baton-kinda ritual they had with outgoing Biden), and preening to all the progressive socialist-leaning governments in Europe - all Obama fans - that "looked up" to Trudeau. Stephen Harper stated on a US channel: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/10/the-associated-press-trumps-tweets-slam-canada-and-trudeau-anew-from-singapore.html I've said it before - all those potshots aren't going to simply be forgotten! Trump doesn't strike me as a guy who forgets. If Trump's obsesssion with trade relations is perplexing - then it could only be................. personal! This could very well all because of Trudeau. And, his big mouth. To put it bluntly, Trudeau had made himself a sitting duck who'd stupidly put a red target on his forehead. And we're all in the crossfire!
  23. That's just an example given to this statement that preceded that: To be sure, it’s not clear what the bottom line would look like if the two measures were harmonized, or which methodology better reflects the true state of trade between the two countries. And continuation to that example: In other instances however, the U.S. data may be failing to capture some Canada exports, particularly services that are much more difficult to measure than goods. The Statistics Canada data show a much larger number -- in the order of $15 billion a year -- in Canadian service exports to the U.S. than is captured by the American numbers. While statisticians aren’t sure exactly why, one explanation may be that U.S. firms with operations in Canada aren’t reporting their foreign costs as service imports.
