Kimmy, As people approach 65 they stop working. Many retire early or lose their jobs and decide not to look for another one. Aging demographics has everything to do with this. The other side of the demographic issue is this....

More youth are getting post-secondary education and therefore delaying entry into the job market because they're in school longer. There are several studies that indicate this, but it's too hard to link here.
