Well, this is a situation that hasn't happened in our history before, and I'm amazed at the number of Canadians who want passports what with the U.S. being so unpopular here. I've heard that more people are being hired to deal with the backlog, my wife and I want to get passports ourselves but have been waiting to apply.

No I was not. But comparing the American situation with ours is quite unreliable, the Reps had been in power for 6 years and were highly unpopular.

I just can't believe that my town, Abbotsford, comes in at 116. So many Alberta towns placed above it and my wife would like to move back there one day (she's from southern Alberta) it's something to note.

As I mentioned in another thread, Europe has awoken to a huge immigration problem with muslims. In Canada, we seem to have far fewer muslims and more from the pacific rim countries, which for the most part, have friendlier views of the west.

I suppose it's too early to say, but if the Tories can maintain their financial picture and have these attack they seem to have evolved into pretty effective tools, an election would have pretty good results for them as long as they can stay out of trouble.

Interesting thought. Some would also say the Tories shouldn't do anything major because they don't have the mandate from the people. I don't know enough about minority governments to say either way, but these are interesting times.

Yes, it's quite sad when known criminals are given the full services of our justice system after they LIED to get into Canda. I don't know whether this fellow is as bad as some of the gang member drug dealer immigrants we've had in Vancouver, but it's unjust for them to be able to sell their drugs and stay in Canada while they make appeal after appeal.
