  1. So these constitutional geniuses on this board have decided that our laws do not reflect Canadian values. Now I understand how they come to their unique conclusions. !!
  2. They are mutually exclusive but can be the same if their sameness is not mutual.
  3. Interesting view. Values cause laws to be created or laws cause folks adhere to our values or perhaps laws are an inconvenience for those who have decided that their individual values are Canadian values or that their values supercede Canadian laws.
  4. Not Canadian Values? Simple questions on Canadian values and laws: Do you believe in gay marriage (even if you are Catholic)? If "NO" then obviously you should be denied entry. Gay marriage is protected by law - anything in Canadian law is Canadian values. Do you believe in capital punishment? If "YES" then obviously you should be denied entry. Capital Punishment is prohibited by Canadian law - anything in Canadian law is Canadian values. Do you believe in Euthanasia? If "YES" then obviously you should be denied entry. Euthanasia is prohibited by Canadian law - anything in Canadian law is Canadian values. Do you believe that women should cover their hair and not wear pants (like Orthodox Jews)? If "YES" then obviously you should be denied entry. The way female Orthodox Jews dress is protected by Canadian law - anything in Canadian law is Canadian values. Do you believe that torture should be used to obtain information from enemies? If "YES" then obviously you should be denied entry. Torture is prohibited by Canadian law - anything in Canadian law is Canadian values. I submit that anything in Canadian law reflects Canadian values - if you do not then you have a problem - or you might be a racist.
  5. Female voices sound like your mother - who doesn't trust or like their mother?
  6. This should improve her chances for election. Most democrats would not mind a Tim Kane for president soon after the election.
  7. OK. I have read criticism after criticism. Lets assume that all the critics are correct, the Liberals are defeated and your party is elected to a majority - how how are you going to change things? What are you going to do?

Even a better idea - ask every Canadian the same questions and send all the ones who got at least one question "wrong" back to the land of their ancestors (all except aboriginals who belong here). Then we will have lots and lots of room for immigrants who get those answers "right".
  9. I suggest that you view the documentary.
  10. Netanyahu has an interesting concept of ethnic cleansing: Zionist Propaganda No wonder the Zionists try to rationalize the destruction and absorption of a country. Canadians are far too smart to fall for that hate mongering.
  11. People continue to search for the meaning of their lives and some find it in organized religion, some find it extremist aspects of religions and others find it in charismatic individuals. I just finished watching CNN's airing of the 201 documentary "Holy Hell" about a movement, or cult or a religion or whatever which drew the unquestioned allegiance and following of white, educated, financially secure young Americans in California and Hawaii. There are some on this board who have convinced themselves that current problems are the cause of a particular religion. I suggest that they view this 2 hr documentary and explain why these intelligent people were indoctrinated into what the average person would reject. I cannot find a place on the web where this documentary can be viewed and I would appreciate anyone locating one and posting the address here.
  12. 390,000 of these people enter our country every year. They are uneducated, unskilled, and contribute nothing. They are a burden to honest, hardworking Canadians and our government is doing nothing to stop them, not to mention they're dirty and they smell bad. THEY DON'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH!! They are our newborn.
  13. Well, it is very obvious that this mediocre football players gambit worked - it has created a discussion or "awareness" of his particular cause. Folks, give me a break. People do these kooky things to forward their agenda and it works. I think it is a lark that individuals, once getting a spotlight, start their personal tap dance. People with cause indicate their concern about their cause by wearing different colored ribbons to indicate their particular cause. The idea is that you wear it on your body to show that you support the cause and "make me aware" of your cause. No thanks! I do not care about your particular cause and have no intention of becoming "aware" of it because you want me to. It might be your ribbon, your walking protest, your screaming at a meeting, your sitting down in front of trucks, your standing in front of tanks or your behavior at a sporting event. There are currently about 54 "official" ribbons for 190 different causes - from yellow for military forces to blue for child abuse to pink and blue for SIDS to green for dwarfism to ..... Awareness Ribbons Each of these causes is of paramount importance to some people. That's nice - but I have my own. Now, with the acceptance of doing something different during the playing of the national anthem, I am looking forward to the proponents of all these causes to start to use this venue. I can see it now - The national anthem starts and the camera focuses on the sidelines: Kaepernick is sitting, some other player is on one knee making me aware of his cause, another is on two knees, another is standing balanced on his helmet, another is standing somebody's shoulder, three guys are standing on one leg (different legs) and one arm out (with each different combination representing a different cause), some guy doing a handstand, many doing different dance steps along the sidelines and one misguided rookie standing at attention. Then the play-by-play announcer can spend the first quarter looking at his "issue protest action" guide to explain what each protest action means. Hey, you want to support a cause then do so on your time and your dime. Anything beyond that is a joke as far as I am concerned.
  14. Some people still believe that the end justifies the means. That is a dangerous road to follow and is usually followed only by those ignorant of history.
  15. I suspect that this whole problem could be alleviated if the government got out of the business of putting caps on the number of people who want to becomes doctors: Doctor Caps “In 2009, there were almost 5,000 qualified applicants to the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton alone. Only 194 were accepted. At Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine in Halifax, only 102 of almost 700 applicants made it in. It's something that happens at med schools across the country every year. What are these applicants lacking? What are they missing to make the final cut? Maybe nothing.” It is the provincial government which limits the number of seats in Medical schools. It is the doctors who are successfully lobbying and keeping the numbers down to protect their careers. If we allow the market to dictate the number of doctors then soon there would be no argument against a two tier system. There would be plenty to serve both systems. The Ontario Medical Association is a closed shop whose first priority is to protect income and jobs in Ontario. Doctor Shortage
  16. Was just browsing the web and came upon Aqua Dams. I had no idea they existed but using water to control water makes sense: Aqua Dams Has anyone seen these in action? Some interesting applications: Applications
  17. My neighbors are preparing for the next Olympic Games. I was asked to evaluate their water routine: Synchronized Swimming I gave them a 4 (did not tell them what it was out of). They seemed disappointed.
  18. Now I understand when someone is "giving you the gears"; Gears Anyone understand the concept?
  19. Perhaps because there are too many posters who want to comment on "Muslims good vs Muslims bad" since they have little interest in other issues?
  20. The flag is a symbol as is the sitting down during the playing of the national anthem a symbol. Symbols are difficult because it leaves a lot to those attempting to decipher the symbolism. So a mediocre football player decides for the first time in his major league life to draw attention to his opinion - using the great American past time guaranteed media cover. So Kapernick thinks the police are too violent against blacks or something like that. So who cares what he thinks. I would be more sympathetic if he declared that he would give $100,000 from his salary towards black organizations every time the decides to sit or kneel. I would watch that. I do not care what Brady thinks about the political climate in Venezuela nor what Manning thinks of refugee income in the Southern States when the Patriots are playing the Giants. I care how well they play when I have $100 on the game and giving up 8 points to New York. I believe some of these guys get so high on themselves that they believe somehow that theirs views make a difference to anybody. Still waiting for Trump to stay seated during a rendition of America to protest the 4 game suspension given to Brady. BTW - how much of his salary is Kapernick donating to black causes - if he makes the team?
  21. There is no "terrorism" in the Middle East. Terrorism is a term conveniently applied to any action frowned upon by the West. Turkey is involved in civil wars against at least two other faction, Iraq also in at least two, as is Syria and all those other nations who should not have stuck their noses into this conflict. As far as objective commentary is concerned, I believe that the only Middle East commentator who has consistently been proven correct is Eric Margolis. You can check his credentials through Google. I believe his latest blog accurately describes the current problem in Turkey: Eric Margolis We now have a situation where different parts the American government are supporting different factions in Turkey. Canada - get out of that fiasco - NOW!!
  22. It appears that we have been programmed into this "war on terror". The perpetrators of this catch phrase had wanted to demonize their opposition by labeling anyone opposing them as terrorists. Therefore a war on terror would validate any force used against any individual or group targeted. Remember the terror of the Huns and those slant eyed terrorist yellow menace of Pearl Harbor? That got enough normal people upset where they were ready to kill these terrorists. The fact that the genetic background is the same now in our German Friends and certainly the same as in our Japanese trading partners and investors into Canada. Now the validation to wipe out people is to label them terrorists and then obliterate them. Nothing has changed. People have not changed. People still kill other people for a variety of reasons - valid to the killer. In 30 years the Russians will again be good guys, the West will be continue to fight for the Middle East and Asian markets and to-days terrorists will be tomorrows allies.
  23. I would assume that the reasons for joining the military might have something to do with its current condition and the perception that Canadians have of the military. As to your conversation, I thought that by placing it into the common forum that you are requesting other comments. There is a way to converse directly with other members and by-passing the common board.
