  1. ............... go'n in hot would have made a hell of a bonfire. To a certain degree I'm disappointed.
  2. .......... historical guilt is powerful juju - it can and will be used against you. What are ya, a racist? (sarc)
  3. She sounds ambitious - strategically it might be a good move. - depends on diaspora support.
  4. ............. dare I use the term, 'she's too black in speech and image' That said, she is excellent in debate - witty and tough - akin to MTG. her chances?
  5. I don't necessarily condemn it - the danger is Trump getting ahead of his skis Pity Trump's political gurus couldn't see the sense of using interdiction with the swift boats. ............ sparse details indicate it was headed for Cuba - another oar in the water . Expect China / U.N (ha) to weigh in.
  6. A good argument and used many times. The overriding criticism is that a minority of the population can determine the winner. In a 2-Party system, I understand the criticism - on the other hand better to let sleeping dogs lay? IF a 3rd Party throws its oar into the water I don't think the E.C. would stand.
  7. Yes, Trump's political appeal to those who previously had no political interest is phenomenal. There are some instances in history that reflect a similar strategy - Mussolini immediately comes to mind. Trump's successful second term run can be directly attributed to the Dems .......... not so much to Biden, more the Party hierarchy - the rabid (hard Left) portion of the Party seemed to think that even considering Biden's debilitation he could still win - Biden of course is the guy that promised that if elected President, he'd only serve one term - betrayal? But really, the Dem were moving far too fast with their ideas for social change in the U.S. asinine for a country like the U.S. But as has been said, what really won it for Trump was the border - the U.S. as a whole should be grateful for him turning off the insane spigot. Talk about getting punked. More the pity will be if the Left didn't learn - they completely isolated themselves from their strength - blue collar, people of color, non graduates. Depending on the Dems nominee - Trump (or Vance) could easily win an encore re: Executive power. The winning strategy is a Caucasian, at least 2nd generation, male, 40-50th, with roots in the blue collar. Someone like AOC would be a fk'n disaster.
  8. Amazing how much you sound like CdnFox - that you foxy girl?
  9. ........... Trump is a populist - that is what appeals to his base. His bread and butter are divisive issues - red meat so to speak. Trump has no restraint - they (Base) love him for it. There are issues that could decide the midterm - not swift boats, not tariffs - health care in red states. It's a mad rush right now to gerrymander and punt issues that could affect the Right majority.
  10. It can lead to situations where a candidate who wins the popular vote does not become President and by extension leads to an elected president (who lost the popular vote) that is less representative of the people. Somewhat ironic that the framers created it as a compromise between electing the President by a vote in Congress and by popular vote - not realizing that the potential existed for the winner to be determined despite the fact of losing the popular vote. No doubt something for SCOTUS to determine - that August, apolitical body that is appointed politically. bwahaha!
  11. In the controversial 2000 election, finally decided by SCOTUS, George W. Bush was elected president, despite having lost the popular vote to Democrat Al Gore by 543,816 votes.2 In the 2016 election, Republican Donald Trump lost the popular vote to Democrat Hillary Clinton by nearly 3 million votes but was elected president by winning 304 electoral votes compared to Clinton’s 227 To understand how this could happen, u need to understand the electoral college and more importantly, how the weight of electoral vote is determined - basically it's winner take all. No, the present system is not democratic ......... and believe me, the winning Congress does not want to change it . I'd just add that SCOTUS is going to be playing a huge role in the next General - if not the midterm.
  12. U need to study the process a little more.
  13. Ukraine can't win the war? Could Great Britain triumph over the Nazi before the U.S. became involved? ah, NO! It was a near run thing for Great Britain, the U.S. was their saving grace. So said, the greatest of British leaders, Winston Churchill. Is Ukraine now so much different than GB, then?
  14. Russia does not so much need to be repelled .............. that implies a Nato confrontation. Russia needed to be deterred? Deterrence was the strategy before 2014. Deterrence is the driving strategy behind NATO ..........peace thru strength? Global deterrence is shifting ............
  15. ................. can't resist - Justin was an incredibly naive individual - a dreamer and likely remains so - a degree of 'attaboy' could be given considering his latest squeeze.
  16. 9 percent of U.S. citizens do not have health care? Be grateful ................ no, that's not right don't be grateful ......... elect people that will reduce the rhetoric and maintain the beotch. From listening to Canadians a person could be forgiven thinking that Healthcare and Defense spending are closely related - both are poorly managed and provided with 'just' enough to shut people up till the next election.
  17. Grammar – The Difference Between Knowing Your Shit And Knowing You’re Shit
  18. Canada would become a Constitutional Republic? Relax - the irony is Canada's Constitution is in the way. Ponder this - if Canada was truly united, becoming a Republic would be a slam dunk. How ironic that politically the franco faction benefit from Canada having the Monarchy as Head of State - arguably the Separatists wouldn't want a Republic and remain p/o Canada - it's politically useful to them in their quest to form a State........... that is their GOAL - a STATE - not unity.
  19. The Electoral College is def not democratic. A 2 party electoral system whereby the win can be declared with less than a majority of the popular vote is most def, NOT democratic.
  20. haha - Social Security / Medicare are fat cows.
  21. Trump will always have his Base - till death do they part. His concern, if he has any, is the right of center / independents Winning a General has nothing to with the popular vote - the House is another matter - ergo gerrymandering. Depending on who the Dems put forward in a primary (they're whack-a-mole) Trump could win a 3rd term - spare me the Constitution - it's in the works. SCOTUS could play a huge role. Standby IMO tariffs will have little to do with a GOP win / loss.
  22. Infuriated Nations demand that bold and underlined memos be used to convey said infuriation. .......... ditto for quoting said memo.
