People don't dislike Hegseth because he supposedly violated the LOAC, they dislike him because he can't lead - he is all hat? In future when helpless U.S. combatants are machine gunned they'll be quoting this incident. The event should never have happened, it should have been covert ............ no, belay that, it was stupid in every way imaginable.

Good point - the argument might be whether the EC is democratic tho. ........... reminds me of, 'we have done so much with so little for so long we can do everything with nothing forever". -
.....probably not even SS.

............what I remember re: my paternal grandparents was anecdotes about WWII and the Great Depression. I think I could instruct either topic! lol

The Constitution is dependant on interpretation? Who interprets the Constitution? ....... see the problem? The interpretation can be so easily skewed by politics. If u rule the courts (any court) u rule the land (decisions) ............ and u do it legitimately SCOTUS is somewhat akin to the Pope - no real way to enforce their decisions - they just arbitrate?. Not so the STATE ...........their enforcement is vested thru that sacred document. ......... ever hear of the 'Enabling Act'? The enabling act vested absolute and legitimate power to the State ......... er, dictator. -

RE: There isn’t any real strategic threat the dying Russians can do to America. Russia has over 5K nucs? Russia / China dominate global nuclear trade. Do u believe the U.S. would respect these countries (including NK) if they didn't possess these fusion weapons and platforms to deliver them? Do u believe Ukraine would be staring into the abyss if they hadn't relinquished their stockpile. Russia could annihilate the U.S. while Congress was debating going to war - the infrastructure to act quickly is suspect in the U.S.

The U.S. Constitution is, increasingly, overrated. Those that interpret are relevant .......... sort of. Akin to Impeachment ...... at one time the mere mention would have political hacks pi$$ing in their boots. Politics is becoming way too complicated .. the internet provides disinformation like water coming out of a fire hose. Congress is a clown show - shuts down for long periods and the stench of corruption is at times overpowering. But don't blame Trump - he was elected. No, blame the opposition and the pitiful challenge they put up to contest him ...... Some believe it was a Dem conspiracy - a Biden win and then a resignation - ushering in Harris. I believe that ......... but more importantly, the electorate believed it. The Left hasn't learned a thing IMO ............ -
Understanding Geopolitics is crucial to interpreting Global dynamics. (political, economic, conflict) To say (or think) events happening in one part of the World cannot or will not have an effect on another part is incredibly obtuse. Canada despite a large geo-footprint is basically irrelevant in respect to effecting global change - Canada is along for the ride. Those that are complacent re: World events fail to understand or are ignorant of how so-called global events shaped the country and you would have to be a complete fool to be so complacent to think global events won't continue to shape Canada - or destroy it. What to do? Oh, Canada, don't be complacent less your complacency bit u in the a$$. Countries don't so much have friends as much as they have common interest.

I like the manner in which you've just normalized annexation? With respect it demonstrates a serious ignorance of strategic World geo-politics and history. But let us put that aside for a moment. What is the message that is being sent ........ emphasis on NK, but in particular China? I acknowledge that the U.S. is not alone in this, but it is the largest stakeholder globally.

Stunning Display of Trump’s Corruption
John Stone replied to Radiorum's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Lets be candid .. Trump is a bigot Trump is a racist Trump benefits from grift............... ya think? Trump is a felon ......... personally I find this hilarious Trump is a misogynist .............. women support him. ............ despite all that and confirming evidence, he won twice and a third Presidency is not out of the question - spare me the Constitution. Left has basically shot their bolt............... word to the wise? If ya want to be competitive get out of the bathrooms, control the borders? -

Luigi has nowhere near the political potential as Cole? Advantage? Left win or lose. -
.............. there are several ways it could be done .......... although a National Crisis could delay a General, it would need SCOTUS approval to extend the delay........ and delay....... and delay? If u rule the courts u rule the land. The other way would be to have a General with Trump off the ballot (of course)- post win, Trump is designated V.P. .......... elected POTUS steps down for health reasons. The weakness in your argument is 'elected'?

........... if u were his defense lawyer u would have to be a fool not to go this route .. pure manna. Pure oxygen for the Left - draws attention to Trump's actions Now this is hilarious - esp if the J6 pardon extends to Cole. Kash on TV last night chest -thumpng claiming Biden's DOJ deliberately didn't find this guy. Will they prosecute Cole only to be pardoned he confessed his love for Trump?" Bwahahahaha! PS. Kash is a real pencil neck - they really need to do something with that guy. .............." Kash, put ur hands in the air and back away from the mic" -

John Stone replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
'Sorry, that's the way it is' Sounds like a good epitaph for someone defending your country. Of course politics plays a part, however that is no excuse for you to agree with it? That is what is disgraceful. -

During interviews with the FBI, the suspect told investigators that he believed the 2020 election was stolen? Now, why would he say that? This guy is the poster boy of a terrorist ..... Story has legs -

We're talking about defense of the country and supplying the best equipment to those willing to pay the supreme sacrifice. There is no doubt that the final decision will be political to a certain degree - more the pity. -
I'd admit the military is a bigoted society. I'd also admit that leadership and management skills are totally different - an individual in the capacity of leadership is expected to lead. On the other hand a manager is expected to make decisions The Military is in some respects a great vehicle to use in grooming society - it's regimented, it is portable and argument can immediately be met with punishment in a variety of ways. The military should never be political ........ it should be apolitical in it's actions. Service members, depending on the type of service can reside for months in close contact..........leadership is essential - a leader must have the respect of his subordinates. Keeping in mind what I have said, do you think using the military is a wise vehicle to employ to spread an ideologies agenda? And spare me the argument that the Armed Forces are comprised of a cross section of society - depending on the trade, maybe. But certainly not door kickers
