Trump is not mentally well
John Stone replied to Radiorum's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
....... the average age in Congress is rumored to be 75 y/o? Old men/women making decisions for the next generation? Let's not even mention SCOTUS!! Why does the door always hit them on the A$$? 'thanks for ur service but, 'begone'! -

............ look, it is incredibly naive to believe that the National Guard will have any long term effect on crime in any U.S. city they are deployed to? Maduro - it is not so much I'm against the idea of the people of Venezuela replacing Maduro - it is the idea that people are pissing down my back and telling me it's raining? The swift-boat attack strategy (drugs) is running out of steam - largely due to the SecDef (SecWar)?? -
Most would argue that the military IS lethal - the U.S. Military's ability to project power is unparalleled. Questioning the military's ability in the 'clear' so to speak does not make the military more lethal. He's raising the question as a political wedge issue, that is not to say that changes cannot be examined - but NOT in the manner he is doing it. In any event - and history has proven this - at the end of the day - total war - it is technology in numbers and training that determine the winner.

The partition of so-called Palestine was primarily influenced by the UN? The UN proposed a plan for the division of the region into an Arab state and a Jewish state? Jerusalem was to be governed by a international regime. This plan was drafted by the UN Special Committee on Palestine and was adopted by the UN General Assembly (1947). The proposal was supported by the Jewish community but rejected by the Arab leadership? This then led to war but the establishment of Israel shortly thereafter. During the war for statehood, Israel faced a 5th column and the resident so-called Palestinians were expelled (1948) for security concerns.

So anyway, Hamas invades Israel, murders 1200 jews before scurrying back across the border to shelter in their hovels Fast forward - Sept 21, 2025 - Canada recognizes the STATE of Palestine?? WTF?? We rewarded those murdering bastards and set the stage for an encore. Maybe they'll leave Canada alone........... was that the play or was it to give Israel a 'backhand'. For fk's sake, the so-called Palestine factions are at war with themselves - and Canada recognizes the STATE of Palestine??

If I was a betting man I'd bet that the U.S. will never be at war with Russia, China nor NK......... this generation. To play the game properly and with strategic skill you have to think 10-15 years downstream. Ur grandkids will be fighting that dustup - The West is on a collision course.............. history repeats. -

............deploying the Nat Guard to major U.S. cities has about as much to do with crime control as the fast boat attacks have with eliminating drugs into the U.S. The Nat Guard is an attempt to normalize the 'look'. The swift boat attacks is an attempt at regime change. ......... I'll be candid ....... I am curious how well Venezuela layered air defense will function if it's deployed. No one is sure what depth the criminal element is integrated with the Venez Gov in terms of weapons - that said the ability to track and engage a ground attack with man pad has to be a concern. Very interesting times. . This (now) SA offense is like a house of card - all Maduro needs is one shoot down for the the U.S. strategy to collapse ........ and the repercussions would be politically, catastrophic. -
On the contrary, dude..............I'd say Hamas and by extension the so-called Palestinians have sown the wind and reaped the whirlwind? Ditto Iran, Lebanon (Hezbollah), Yemen (Houthis) West Bank? TBD

....... the 'damaged' generation is water under the bridge. Supposedly back in the day and MAD was a strategy, children were instructed (and practiced) how to take cover under their desks and in hallways. Something labelled the Cuban Missile Crisis had the WORLD on the edge of destruction - literally - one button push away. Those children seemed to weather the storm - likely a credit to their parents not constantly telling them that their survival was in question? The media saying the same? How's this sound - if ur kid is fk'd, blame urself as a parent and stop pointing fingers.

AI -We Get This All Wrong
John Stone replied to August1991's topic in Health, Science and Technology
Artificial Intelligence, political hacks notwithstanding is capable of learning and most important - original thought. Don't laugh when I say that in the not too distant future, for some people, the laptop will be their best friend - marriage and even conjugal visits might evolve. The oceans will be littered with nuc powered weapons that will have dwell time of years. Fighter a/c will become obsolete - rather flying platforms will determine targets and conduct stream attacks with drones and/or missile Hollywood will be impacted in huge way - look ma, no bio actors (deep fake) Jobs - anyone that works behind a desk needs to be concerned (very) Unemployment will skyrocket - guaranteed income will be a debating point - people will be in the streets. I laugh when I hear, 'technology creates jobs' - how naive. The only limiting factor wrt technology is science. There could not be enough solar panels to power what is coming - fusion might save us. There are more people alive today on the earth than have ever lived on the earth - concerning? OMG -
More than 70% of health care spending is publicly funded through general tax revenues. The provinces and territories generate 78% of the cost, with the federal government providing the rest through the Canada Health Transfer (CHT). The original health care funding split between the federal and provincial governments was a 50/50 split Health care eats up 30% to 40% of provincial and territorial budgets, and those costs are expected to increase at an average annual rate of 5.2% over the next decade — much faster than projected revenues. Gentlemen, Universal Health Care in Canada is in jeopardy - unsustainable? However, Kanadians have seen the enemy and it is complacency - only themselves to blame.

...........suppose any individual in Western society should be grateful that they didn't reside in China during the Pandemic. Without getting into the weeds i think we can agree that for a medically advanced country, China's reaction to the Covid was ............... draconian ....... unprecedented? I think we should also keep in mind that China's reaction was certainly not driven by partisan politics re: vaccines, isolation. China realized the potential magnitude of the threat to their country......... and reacted ........little pushback (ha) Of course China's degree of response to the threat would NEVER work in ............ the West. However, it demonstrated that China is arguably better prepared for the next pandemic (it is coming) than any other country in the World. Fer fks sake we're so dysfunctional we can't regain control of measles? Robert Kennedy jr argues the country needs to build up immunity naturally ......... damn the torpedoes (deaths) ...... he labels it 'herd' immunity......... to (1) disease? How about the others, Bob?

What does the revolution in 2014 have to do with Russia invading? Crimea and later Donbas were akin to the Nazi play occupying the Sudetenland in 1938? Russia basically occupied Crimea - held a referendum and voila a bit later Russia annexed the territory. (Obama) Russia then shifted targets to the Donbas - same play - arguing that Russian speaking citizens were being persecuted by the Ukraine authorities - brush fires sprung up between Ukraine forces and (supposedly) Russian speaking citizens (Spetsnaz) in the region claiming persecution. In sympathy Russia deployed peacekeeping troop (invasion of 2022). Ukraine doe not need troops - they're lions. Ukraine needs technology to encourage Putin to come to the table - an Armistice would likely be the result. Not happening.

It would be a mistake in thinking Venezuela is not strategically important to China - as is Cuba. I daresay it will become more important if Trumps rhetoric continues re: Panama / NWP (Greenland) I'm not suggesting a military confrontation ........ more economic / geo political pressure.
