Why is Trump easing the sanctions on Russia when they're giving Iran target location intel and weapons to harm American soldiers and/or assets? I have no outrage with anything. A carbon tax has zero to do with the price of oil. Why do you find it difficult to understand that oil pricing is set globally? You have an odd way of thinking if you believe the CBC has say one way or the other in what oil prices should be.... 1. CBC is a media organization. Who there is telling you that they want higher oil prices? 2. No, it's everyone's position and basic common sense that high energy costs affect everyone, especially those in a lower income category. I'd be real concerned with a PM who has proven to continually be a year behind the real world. Last year he thought he was running against Trudeau in the election, and now a year plus after Trump has been president he decides it's time to think about a plan to mitigate the forced tariffs. No manufacturers have not stopped making EV's. They're pivoting to producing less and/or narrowing offering of to align with demand. Those people making the battery's will be employed for as long as the company needs the labor...with lesser total EV sales meaning lesser people needed to make batteries. It only became a 'bad investment' after new US admin regulations changed the ballgame. If Trump never came along the government would have had no choice but to pivot like Canada and the EU have...but the policies intent would still in place with the same incentives offered to stimulate sales. I have trouble seeing a world that is totally electrified with the exception of North American gas guzzling emission spewing vehicles. That doesn't seem to align with how the world is evolving...
