  1. I disagree. Knowing what we do now about the economic activity that runs through that strait you'd make the safe assumption the US admin and every other admin in the world knew that 50 years before we did. That being the case you'd also think the US would have vetted that strait and thought of and be prepared for anything, which they clearly didn't. Maybe they had a plan, but far to say it wasn't as good one. That's why 2500 marines are on the way and he's calling for help from people he's been pissing on for the last year. You're viewing Russia with only a financial lens. Don't forget their killing people in the Ukraine every day and have been for 4 years. I don't 'hate' Russia, but no thanks, good here.
  2. The assertion is based on facts. Well, if it isn't loyalty siding with the perpetrator in the Russia/Ukriane war or dropping sanctions on someone who is giving intel that can kill your military to cover your own ineptness, maybe I'm using the wrong word. Loyalty fits good enough though... No kidding, really... Yes Sherlock, your guy has screwed up pretty good here and is doing his best ymca shuffle to get out of this one. I find it hard to believe that anyone else would have been this negligent to not have thoroughly vetted that Strait and the economical impact it would have if it wasn't secured. He needs solutions but I'm not sure that anyone else would lift sanctions on someone who is invading one country and giving intel to another one that you're at war with though. That's rather dramatic don't you think. I'm not pro-Iran or hoping for US failure or a collapse of the global economy. Quite the opposite actually on all three points.
  3. I have to grow up and it's a libbie thing because your feelings are hurt? Why can't you just see the simple reality of it, or does your cult devotion not let you do that. But yeah I would have done it differently.... something really novel like having a plan.
  4. So we're back on the 'not Canadian's', who happened to purchase US vehicles... Can you not understand that if the auto maker incurs those tariffs costs they're going to go apply those into the dealers purchase price of the vehicle? That's not hard to understand is it.... And I don't give a damn if less US vehicles were imported into Canada last year....the Canadian consumer paid, and is paying for those tariff costs in the US produced vehicle they purchased....which was the conversation. Don't be so fùcking stupid....
  5. I suppose in some circles people would think that siding with Putin by suggesting that Ukraine should allow Russia to maintain control of the territory it invaded, or that Russia helping someone you're a war with and yet you still drop oil sanctions on them is very much 'kowtowing'.
  6. Been wrong lots of times before, but I can't and hopefully won't see any future administrations that could be less environmentally responsible than this one is. Yes EV sales have declined and there are reasons for that... higher cost, removing incentives, smaller charging infrastructure, distance anxiety, etc but that will change as new government policies, evolving battery technology, and the growth of the charge infrastructure. The world has been and continues to electrify and cars will be a larger part of that as manufacturers find economies of scale for cost, battery tech gets better and the charging infrastructure is more readily available.
  7. Of course anyone should be respectful of nuclear weapons but that doesn't explain why he kowtows to Putin. Obviously I am because the US (without Trump) will never have full on resource or other trading relationships with Russia.
  8. Sure, everyone should work closely with countries that are supplying intel that is meant to harm them. That's only good business right... I can live with that... Doesn't change the fact your boy is a Putin loving embarrassment. Why don't you use your head to form opinions rather than using your heart?
  9. Here, maybe read this.... Analyzing financial reports that were available at the time of publication, Automotive News (subscription required) reports that U.S. tariffs have cost automakers "at least $35.4 billion since 2025." https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-tariffs-cost-automakers-over-204500959.html If you can't or refuse to even spend 30 seconds looking for information, go play with someone else. I have no time or interest for your constant and never-ending stupidity of denying anything and everything without making the slightest effort to look for facts.
  10. What's there to prove.... just look for yourself. He sided with Putin and threw the US Intelligence community under the bus for their assertions of Russia in his first term, he sided with Putin regarding election interference reports, he sided with Putin in suggesting Ukraine started the war, and he just again sided with Putin in dropping oil sanctions while Putin is providing intel to Iran. I'm sure there's a lot more but the common theme is....always siding with Putin. Krasnov is clearly a trusted agent... What are you talking about....'it was announced to the world' It should be obvious even to your Trump-adoring mind.... He's trying to find a way out of the mess he created with Iran and what has and will continue to impact the price of oil, LNG and semiconductors. For a guy that was pounding his chest loud and hard about a military that is the greatest ever seen he sure seems desperate now in begging and/or threatening other countries to send warships and assets to help in the Strait. Until then the world is going to be paying more for gas and anything oil related (which is pretty much everything). On a side note.... it's good to see the countries that he pissed on and that he's begging now sitting on their hands for the time being, and hopefully for a long time. That's your guy....
  11. I agree with you in wanting to see the country self-reliant with energy but that's not how we or our North American energy footprint has evolved. A West to East Coast pipeline would go a long way to that self-reliance but that really hasn't been a conversation that I'm aware of. Yep, we're going to using fossil fuels for a lot of years still but as time goes on it will be lesser and lesser which is all part of the investment decision companies look at. I'd love to be a fly on the wall listening to the conversations between government and private business around these type investments....
  12. I did support vaccination mandates, off-hand don't remember the hijab hoax details, and don't believe anyone was called a racist or misogynist because they didn't get vaccinated. I'll get quick news highlights from CBC but don't watch it enough to know it's bias, but do know all we've had the last 11 years is a liberal government so guessing your perception may be skewed because of that. Don't watch it it you don't like it... Is being a good little LPoC cultist better than being a perpetually losing and crying right wing conservative, or....? If I was you then I'd high tail it out of the country if you think our democracy will be gone with the liberal government. We're not going to have another one for a lot of years so it's not looking well for you... Yes, I look forward to the end of democracy.... who doesn't right. Wow....
  13. Yep, a cryfest... My wording for a cry festival that you folks enjoy so much. When did I or ever say that Canadian's shouldn't be allowed to express themselves? On the contrary, it's everyone's right to do so if they choose. By all means, keep up the crying about anything 'left'.... it doesn't matter to me.
  14. I'll give you this... Your ability to talk but say nothing is impressive. Kind of Poilievre-ish...
  15. The price of crude is the main component in the price of gasoline. As the cost of crude climbs so does gasoline, and vice versa. After that it's all supply and demand, profits and taxes as to where the price of gas is in the market.
  16. We do extract it and refine it in the refineries we have across the country. We can add as many as we want, but it still won't change the price of oil for us. That's bought and sold at market rates. It would though to your point help our economy and dollar with more output and revenue from it.
  17. It is so... oil pricing is set globally and has nothing to do with how much you have or don't have. The price of oil, or the oil price, generally refers to the spot price of a barrel (159 litres) of benchmark crude oil—a reference price for buyers and sellers of crude oil such as West Texas Intermediate(WTI), Brent Crude, Dubai Crude, OPEC Reference Basket, Tapis crude, Bonny Light, Urals oil, Isthmus, and Western Canadian Select(WCS).[1][2] Oil prices are determined by global supply and demand, rather than any country's domestic production level. Oil, gas or any other derivative of can be sold at whatever the seller wants to sell for but the price of a barrel of oil does not change. If the dumbass down south wants to start more wars buckle up for a lot higher oil pricing. Won't be the case though as he is clearly running with his tail between his legs now trying to figure a way out by asking countries he's dumped on to help to open the strait, increase the flow of oil and get pricing normalized.
  18. It sure is loyalty to Putin. How would you explain him dropping oil sanctions when Russia is effectively the enemy in helping Iran? I do have one theory... he totally miscalculated and is now running with his tail between his legs trying to find a way out. Wy do you think he's caving.... Putin's birthday? '1. Because it's better than declaring war on Russia.'
  19. Yes, I'm aware of that by the daily and never ending 'look at what the liberals did' cryfest.
  20. 1. Keeping sanctions in place isn't declaring war. You keep avoiding the question of why your president continues to kiss Putin's ass. 2. Yes, he is trying to get gas prices lower because he's the one entirely responsible for them climbing like they have. It's called trying to cover ones ass... Anyone with half a brain may have thought about that in first place and maybe had a better plan, or in Trump's case, a plan. 3. I don't have TDS. That would be you...
  21. Think twice, talk once... Auto manufacturers have incurred tariff related costs (got that?). Those incurred costs are then rolled into the cost of manufacturing those vehicles which are then passed on to the consumer (got that?). That's not hard to understand, is it..?
  22. 1. So you're saying Trump is scared of Putin/Russia because of their nuclear capability? According to Trump the US is the baddest dude in town, and it's not even close. 2. Not following.... Are you saying after Trump helps Russia annex Ukraine they'll use those resources to help the world? So who is forming this new world order? I know we're aligning ourselves more with like-minded countries but don't see where Russia fits into that.
  23. Trudeau is no longer in the picture (just an fyi), don't follow or care about Schiff, and see similarities between Hitler and Trump, as many do.
  24. No, I didn't know that CBC supported higher prices for Canadian's. Gather they're not Canadian's, or just like paying more for stuff? Please explain how we 'hardly buy any oil'? Real curious of this one... Your fascination with CBC has you thinking stranger than you normally do. You have this opinion that everyone thinks similar to yourself and is as easily influenced. Lose your ignorant bias for a minute and try to understand that higher oil prices affect everyone....dems, republicans, independents, right, left and centre. Or do you think dems and libs don't get costs passed on to them? Why so much trouble understanding this.... It doesn't matter if we had oil pipelines running down every street in the country.... the price of oil would be the same as it is today. Try reading FFS... oil pricing is set globally and has jackshit to do with how much you're sitting on or can produce. China is still a developing country that is dependant on conventional fossil fuels for energy but leads the world in clean energy tech investment. To say they don't at all use green tech energy is factually false. Over a third of China's energy usage in 2025 was from clean tech sources. Read man, read....
