  1. On the basis of the harm they do to the climate and the local environment. I could probably make a lot of money selling fentanyl and meth, but that doesn't mean I should be doing that.
  2. A $300B refinery project... yes I would.
  3. Easy enough questions to answer.... 1. Yes, fail on building a stronger domestic economy. 2. I'd be inclined to vote for an alternative, if in fact there was one. Not complicated is it...?
  4. You need to sort a lot of things out, and one of them is how business and investment works. You say he met with the Reliance chair at his personal home which is great and shows there is a level of comfortability there. What you don't understand is that we have just begun to change our trade relationship with India and multi-billion investments are not completed in a 60 minute sit down meeting. There is something called due diligence of given opportunities that happens well in advance of any 'deals'. Sorry, I don't buy your conspiracy theory of Carney and Brookfield so done commenting on that asinine narrative. You call an investment in a Texas refinery a win.... For what reason... the harmful emissions they emit or the fact no other US based O&G companies want to invest in one? I'm pro-industry but not at any cost...and certainly not a polluting refinery that doesn't have a decades long future. The upside is that your boy Poilievre is going to the US to champion free trade and the elimination of tariffs. The guy is fùcking brilliant! I sure hope Carney and his team has thought of this....
  5. Yes, I have those same wants for my children and theirs for a lifetime, not just today. Yes, we are destroying or maybe better said harming the planet and again, that's unequivocal. I've never said we're all going to die and don't believe the scientific community has said this either but the fact remains we could not continue down the path of fossil fuels as the dominant source of energy which thankfully we're not. Correct that we use those forms of energy but to say natural gas is clean is a false statement. It's a 'cleaner' form of energy but certainly not clean with the co2 it emits. You've missed what I've copied and said.... My premise is the exact opposite of what you said. Mankind has and will continue to adapt and in this conversation, further away from fossil fuels.
  6. Trans persons having rights is ignorant? That's an ignorant comment don't you think.... I know exactly what I was talking about and that was climate change, not transvestites that certainly seem to have place in your thoughts....not mine. I'm not defending 'men being women' at all. I am though a defender of peoples rights and have an attitude of 'you do your thing and I'll do mine'. Someone told you this is a troubling social issue that needs to be corrected so your natural gullibility for anything Trump is to jump on the bandwagon and sing the narrative.
  7. I'd agree that Trump is transactional, but have trouble seeing him as a pragmatist. A pragmatist is by its definition someone who is practical and evaluates situations whereas Trump appears to be a guy who is most influenced by the last person he speaks with. You would know better than I but the impression I had leaving the election was that the domestic issues of inflation and immigration were the clear voter concerns and his mandate, not 'America first' and foreign policy. It's probably fair to say that so far he's addressed neither with increasing the cost of living and a failed foreign policy that will have an impact the US and once steadfast allies for decades. He drives everyone nuts... not just Europe and Canada.
  8. You know that google has you flagged right now as a transvestite peeper, don't you... All future ads you get will now have a trans content to them.
  9. Trump told you trans were taking over women sports and you believed him. Do you not have better things to be concerned about? Why do I need to define a woman... I married one.
  10. It is unfortunate, but probably not surprising given how politics in our part of the world has evolved this last decade. Interesting where we go.... and would think most Canadian's have that same ideology. I think most also believe we need more infrastructure and use of our natural resources to support the economy, but would think that whatever the color jersey there will be enough pressure to do it responsibly or it won't happen.
  11. I disagree. This forum and I'm sure countless others are littered with them. Hell, you might even be one.... And no, it's not going to happen. You and a handful of others love the clown but beyond that....the majority of Canadian's don't want him anywhere near the PM seat. He's a failure....time to move on and find another party leader.
  12. It's been talked about countless times with countless scientific papers published.... It's unequivocal. You're part of that far right knuckle dragging crowd that is obliged to deny climate change anyway so it's a pointless and would be a wasted exercise trying to explain otherwise to you.
  13. lol... and that's one hell of a wall to break through! I won't disagree that the scientific world (and governments) could have and still do a better job of explaining the impact on peoples, but wonder if the narrative would be any different if some ex-Reality TV guy didn't come along and find a large group of guidable followers... Neither here nor there now though but certainly trust we're heading the right direction.
  14. Just the fact that climate change itself costs you and I ~$700 annually creates hardship for some doesn't it? I look at it differently.... I'm on the back 9 of life and in the grand scheme of things I'm only here for a little while longer (and that's hopefully a few more decades). I will gladly pay and/or pay more in hidden or direct taxes for our transition away from fossil fuels. My children and grandchildren and their evolving families will be around for countless years longer than I'll be here and I'd certainly hope they can live in world that hasn't destroyed itself because of the fear of cost associated with making our world cleaner. If we don't spend now we'll be paying a hell of a lot more later... Regardless of what we hear from Trump and his denials, the positive is that global investment in clean and renewable energy is give or take double that of conventional fossil fuel investment, so we're on the right track. Go buy one of those Chinese EV's when they get here. You'll love it and be helping the environment at the same time....win/win.
  15. It was a quick one.... This topic is the classic wash, rinse and repeat with many out here. If we banged our head off the wall each time it's denied we'd have knocked ourselves out long ago....
  16. Correct, by all appearances we are different and think very differently. I can come up with some bizarre hypotheticals too if you'd like, but why.... So again, how many trans have ever been too close to yours or your families space where it's been uncomfortable and embarrassing?
  17. By the looks of it, it's only the knuckle dragging conservatives that aren't corrupt.... If you're counting the days waiting for Poilievre to become PM good luck... It's not going to happen.
  18. Considering I have a mother, wife, daughter and two granddaughters.... I have a very good idea and care very much about what happens to women. BTW... that was a really fùcking stupid comment. So how many big hairy men in dresses have you seen in the ladies room, or anywhere for that matter...? And who told you about these big hairy men in dresses....Trump, or was it Poilievre?
  19. The guy is brilliant.... become PM to manipulate investment direction towards his equity holdings and travel abroad to only talk with investors who are aligned in his portfolio. Brilliant! Now, with the amount of US equities in his portfolio he really has to get the US trade deal sorted out to reap those potential gains...
  20. I'm on the other side of the fence with your boy. His days are numbered so you'll be finding someone else before long anyway. Agree the NDP is faltering big right now....which is a shame to see. Only 5 left in the parliament and if Lewis gets nominated you'll see more cross the floor... not good at all.
  21. That's pretty dramatic don't you think... I spent a career travelling NA that inevitably had me in more establishments and restrooms than I can remember. In all those years I honestly cannot recall any instance of little girls or women running out of the ladies room because some big hairy man wearing a dress was in there looking at them. Try to find a better hypothetical...
  22. I've seen his investments, which is in a blind trust. Are you thinking that's false and he spends his days buying and selling equities depending on who he talks with? Carney, and most Canadian's who are invested have more exposure in the US than Canada because of the wider selection of equities within a sector in the US versus our financial and resource sector heavy TSX. Your point here is....?
  23. Wouldn't expect you to pay attention but if you did you would have learned that until the last federal election there was 10 years between voting liberal for me. Don't embarrass yourself further by calling out a 'bias'. I don't think many can compete with you in that category. Appreciate the concern, but my investments and most others will do just fine regardless of which party governs.
  24. It has nothing to do with the NDP.... I was asked about Poilievre so replied. He is a hindrance though that drags the conservative party down, don't you think?
  25. Lol... better informed, sure 😂 You really need to get out of your bunker for some fresh air....
