Says the side that thinks men can become women and men can give birth! πππ Typical weak comeback from the red hats.... That's an argument, really? π Question though.... You're so-called 'patriots' and revere the military for the work they do. Do you think it's right that transgenders who have served in the Air Force for 15 to 18 years are being forced out and denied retirement benefits?

I actually find it a poor reflection on our political system that someone can be voted out of a riding they've had for 20 years and all they had to do was hightail their sorry *ss to buttluck AB to get voted back in, all for the paltry sum of $2M.
-
Why are you even talking about Freeland..... is this all you got? π
-
Simply....he's a likeable guy who has forgotten more about economics, business, international trade and how the world works than Poilievre has ever known. I have a tough time trying to support a career politician with zero practical experience and who's only schtick was/is trying to be a Maple Maga. That pretty much sums it up....

Number of Canadians receiving EI climbs, up 12.5%
LinkSoul60 replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why? You'll just ignore it 3 seconds later. I've actually been specific about this. You don't actually care, i could have a note from god proving he's stealing the food money from orphanages and the only thing you'd care about is how to defend his actions and blame it on PP. What a joke! π 'Ive actually been specific about this'..... Humour us and explain again how Carney is lining his pockets. -
Moral victories are for losers. If the shoe fits..... π

No, the conservatives have had O'Toole, Scheer and now Poilievre, all failures in their own right as the fact of results say. Not sure when Freeland was elected as party leader?
-
And I'm sure being the totally objective fool that you are you'd think the same if this was a liberal begging for a seat....wouldn't you
-
Comical thread! Congrats to the diehard conservatives who have now convinced themselves they won something. Haircut loses his seat 3 months ago and taxpayers had to spend $2M to get him a win in the safest riding they could find. A ballsy guy little PP is... You've lost so often that you've now convinced yourself you won something with Poilievre's byelection win....priceless.
-
What part of sending him to the safest riding they could find and spending $2M to do it do you disagree with?

That's one way to look at it, except nobody is going to be doing your property's ground maintenance or snow removal as part of your property taxes.

Lose the talking to your pet poodle schtick clown... You can hear me sweating....WTF? I'm responsible because of my action or my inaction....WTF? I'm complicit and involved.... What are you talking about? -
The assessed value includes both the land and the building so could the building on that 1/2 acre be newer or maybe a more desirable lot? I don't know what the criteria is for the final assessed value but assuming age and location within the area are going to be a big part of it.
-
Property taxes are not meant to be applied uniformly. They're calculated on the assessed value of your property which is not uniformed within a community or area of. It's all relative....a property with a higher assessed value pays more in property taxes while a property with lesser assessed value pays less for the same services.

Air Canada Strike -Does Mark Carney have "power"?
LinkSoul60 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Arbitration is not taking peoples rights away. How can you argue the end result after only 9 hours of negotiation with that arbitrator? -
CUPE tears up Carneyβs return to work order.
LinkSoul60 replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I understand that. Doesn't change the fact that both parties said they were at an impasse and ultimately resolved in 9 short hours. Union appears good with it, AC appears good with it....win/win and inconvenienced people and goods can get back to travelling. -
Air Canada Strike -Does Mark Carney have "power"?
LinkSoul60 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm neither, hence this not being important to me.... I'm not knowledgable as to what the bottom end pay scale is with AC in comparison to others in same industry but I'll assume they're somewhat competitive or they wouldn't be able to attract or keep new hires? I have no skin in this game and trying to view objectively. I have a hard time blaming the government though....the company and union stated they were at an impasse and a continued distruption of a service that is essential to our economy benefitted nobody. I find it telling that with the help of an arbitrator this was resolved in a typical days work of 9 hours. The company or union or both were posturing for what appears to be a relatively minor sticking point of 50% of wages for minimum 60 minutes....albeit not for that bottom end tenured employee. If it took the government to get them there and not continue to disrupt peoples and businesses lives, pocketbooks and bottom lines then kudos to them. My 2 cents.... -

I was jokingly referring to AC stock....which is down again today. New wage scales go to the bottom line but we can assume those will be made up through increased fares over time....like everything else when companies pay employees more. -

I'm not responsible for government action/inaction. Find a convservative leader that the country can get behind and we might have a different picture. Until then it's just the same hope of a government failing to find the path to victory.
