But none of that matters, because those are all things he did in his first term, when he wasn't Hitler. Now he is. He is getting up there, and people take up new relaxing hobbies when they enter their golden years. Some people take up golf, but Trump was already into that. So at the age of 78, Trump has decided to take up national socialism.

Do you think Kamala will be mad
CouchPotato replied to Fluffypants's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
She'll be fine. She's not Hillary. And also she had to have some foreknowledge that it could go down this way. -
RFK's role in last night
CouchPotato replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
My view of this is entirely different. I am not just getting french fries but all these chemicals, too. That's a steal. How do they do it? How do they pack all that stuff into that skinny little french fry? -
Mass media and politics: an examination
CouchPotato replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The message of those ads really highlights one of their great weaknesses. Are we having trouble with a certain demographic? It must be something wrong with them. Working class people aren't supporting us? Well, they are just uneducated anyway. Our numbers with men are not good? That's because of toxic masculinity and misogyny. Let's put out an ad presuming we know what men all think and make a childish attempt at manipulating them. You guys are just to chicken to vote for Kamala. Bawk Bawk Bawk. -

It just baffles me. Like I mean at some point early in grade school you might throw a hissy fit when something doesn't go your way on the playground and you quickly realize that everyone mocks you even more when you do that. Most people would have their hissy fit in private if they had to. Right? Don't they? Is the playground not doing it's job anymore? I suppose a lot of them are girls and their playground experience is different.

Thank you kindly. What a display of class and good sportsmanship. And young man there's no need to feel down.

Election Predictions
CouchPotato replied to NAME REMOVED's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I think it was obvious in 2021. People were beginning to question it then. I remember he had one particular appearance on CNN where Don Lemon was interviewing him and he had to sort of help Joe answer the questions. If I remember right there was a press conference a few years ago where at one point he said something like "uh... they are telling me to stop talking now". I'll have to do a deep dive and see if I can find that. It is sad. And it is something that could be awaiting any of us. I have had family members with it as well. I think they know something is wrong but some people tend to be more in denial about it. -

After making him their candidate, and then telling him to sit home and shut up, and then using him for years, and telling him what to say and do, and pretending he didn't have dementia, and then suddenly saying "wait you do have dementia now, take a hike" .... I think he was a pretty loyal little puppy. Far from shooting him, they should buy him his own personal ice cream parlor on a beach somewhere and send him weekly tractor trailer loads of human hair to sniff for the rest of his life. -

But they were the ones who wanted to push him into the Whitehouse like Weekend at Bernie's. I mean Biden having dementia makes him far less culpable in my eyes. They were willing to lie about it so they could use the Biden brand again. Then it blew up when it was too late. That's not on Biden. I mean everybody around him was saying he was a-ok and sharp as a tack. He probably believed it. The guy was a puppet. I mean quite literally, when you talk about someone being a political puppet, Joe Biden is now the prime example. I mean they actually had to have people leading him around half the time. -

Trump isn't always coherent, but everyone knows what he is saying. The Republicans do have that problem just like the Dems. A lot of the republican party never liked Trump. Trump for instance is not well-liked by the neocon Bush camp. And the republican party for the most part are politicians who do the exact same thing, trying to appease everyone. It is Trump himself who didn't care what people thought and just said what he wanted. I mean I think on some level Trump doesn't even realize he is saying stuff that is offensive. -

She also didn't present any coherent message. Like Trudeau she tries to be everything for everyone. She is pro-Israel, she is pro-Gaza. She is pro-immigration. She wants to build Trump's wall. Kamala is publically for just about anything, which means she is lying to someone. -
Election Predictions

Maybe not, but I think it would have been far smarter. I mean you do what you can to win. Trump is a name people know as you say, and despite being vice president Kamala really wasn't that well known. I saw some exit polls with people saying they voted for Kamala and not against Trump, but I don't buy that because I think it's a question where most people would sort of fudge the truth. I don't think many people voted for Kamala. A lot voted against Trump or maybe for the letter D. If they could have forced Michelle at gunpoint to run, I think people would vote for her. -
America Dropped the ball with Trump

Well, he got elected. I mean most Jews in the US didn't seem to be in favor of that. Maybe Jews are individuals and want all kinds of different things. -

All they had to do was stop playing Weekend at Bernie's with Biden a year ago, have a normal selection process, and this could be a much different race for the Democrats. -

That pollster that had the Democrats up in Iowa has a whole carton of scrambled eggs on her face today.
