When Flag Burning Is NOT Free Speech
gatomontes99 replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Then quote the part that says they will just prosecute for burning the flag and only for burning the flag. I mean, it's like a 1 page EO. I can't find it, but surely you can quote the part that says to prosecute only for burning the flag.- 41 replies

You defend Joe Biden's banana republic style persecution of enemies like Trump. Don't talk to us about ethics. -

Trump Is On A Bad Streak
gatomontes99 replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This is one where the bad outweighs the good imo. -
Let's start with this: Trump to allow 600,000 Chinese students entry to US for college as trade talks with China press on I am not a fan of letting Chinese students back given the Chinese are using these students to spy on our industry and steal our tech and other innovations. I am not even sure a good background check could prevent that. Then there is this, and probably the worst idea: Trump Says Intel Will Give 10% Stake To U.S., Becoming Third-Largest Shareholder The idea is that the government will get dividends from Intel for granting Intel money. I am diametrically opposed to this, both the grant and the dividends. If, what they are doing is lucrative there must be an investor that would take the risk. The government cannot and should not be picking winners and losers in the market. Further, this opens the door for socialism that is literally the government owning all businesses. This is a huge mistake.

Everyone is going apeshit over this EO: https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/08/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-protects-the-american-flag-from-desecration/ The main argument is that flag burning is free speech. That is true. Like every other right, there are limits. You can't wrap a person in a flag, douse them in gas and light in on fire and still call it free speech. That is the point of the EO. The EO does not change the law, the constitution or anything else. What it does do, is direct AGs to enforce the laws, even if the flag is involved. Using the flag does not create an immunity from prosecution for other crimes. So if they burn it during a burn ban, an illegal protest or any other illegal activity, they will be prosecuted for that crime. The act of burning the flag is not the catalyst for prosecution, it just isn't the immunity.

The conquest of Cuba when?
gatomontes99 replied to paxamericana's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No we wont. -
Why do you assume changes = man made? We've had hundreds of these "no turning back now" events where the chicken Littles on the left want everyone to give up economic freedom. The sky is falling, so we all must subject ourselves to the liberal over lord's now! Isn't it weird that not one single "no turning back now" moment happened between 2021 and 2024? But nlw that it's 2025, of fùck the world is ending?! You guys are a joke.

I agree. What we need to do, to make things equal and be completely fair, is focus on skin color. We should pick a race to suppress and race(s) to promote. Qualifications should absolutely be secondary. Hell, they shouldn't even be mandatory. Clearly, the only way to eliminate racism and masoginy is to use discriminatory practices in hiring, college admissions and the like. Any thing less than using race as a determining factor is racism.

They are mentally unhealthy and I think it is wrong to subject them to the stress of war when they already have enough problems handling their own identity. Further, it is a bad idea to give the mentally unhealthy a weapon and implied to permission to use it. That is why they get a medical discharge and all the benefits that ajoin that.

Dems "It was the most secure election ever!" Us "But you kicked us out and ballots magically appeared." Dems "It was the most secure election ever!" Us "But then Chinese sent thousands of fake licenses to Chinese nationals with the expressed intent that they would vote for Biden." Dems "It was the most secure election ever!" Us "But mail in ballots are rampant with fraud and error and you mandated the election be mostly mail-in in violation of state and federal election laws." Dems "It was the most secure election ever!"

florida Fla Rep Wants To Ban HOAs
gatomontes99 posted a topic in State Politics in the United States
I love the idea. I bought acreage outside of the city just to escape HOAs. They have far to much power and pool resources to suppress individual owners.
