Spoken like a traitor. I can just imagine choosing a name like "Army Guy" and going on about how you "served our country," only to s**t on Canada, and praise the enemy. You are free to leave, and move to the USA. Imagine being in the military "35 years" and probably doing deployments on mainly poor countries, that are occupied, and pose no threat to us, then cowardly taking a knee when a much stronger nation threatens to annex us. Maybe you should change your name to "Eddie Slovik," It fits you better.

In less than one week time, Trump has done more damage to the United States, than any other president in history. Some of the people still supporting this man, obviously need the equivalent of de-Nazifacation. Even Hitler had the good sense to wait for half a year to withdraw from the League of Nations, and five years to threaten another nations sovereignty (Austria)

The only positive thing I could possibly see in a second pandemic, is it will "thin out the herd." Just like the flagellants during the Black Death, who ended up whipping themselves to death- literally (the Black Death spread much more quickly with open wounds), let these MAGA fools go without protection. Natural selection.

That is why humans are f**ked. I still remember trying to work during the 2023 forest fires. The same fires that made breathing virtually impossible in most major cities in the northeast US. It was crazy. After one month, I was off work, and going to grab some food, and I started getting heart palpitations. I got worried and looked up "negative health effects of forest fire smoke inhalation." Sure enough, heart palpitations are on there. If I had some kind of lung problem - severe asthma, or COPD, I would have died. Keep in mind the forest fires are only going to get worse, so I would suspect a huge number of fatalities will occur in the coming years. But hey.....at least Trump is "owning the Libs!"

I just found out that the Bird Flu is spreading to humans, but don't worry! Trump fired everyone from the CDC, and put RFK Jr in charge!! What could possibly go wrong?

Alberta and Smith bend over... again... for Big Oil.

Both of my Grandparents fought in World War II. One was stationed in the UK. They were real Patriots who loved their country. They would have died for Canada, if need be. I am not in the military, but I can just imagine how underfunded it is, when clowns like you serve. I can't imagine serving my country, and be so quick to betray it, at the first sign of a real crisis. How do you live with yourself? -
It's apathy. My guess is that it has a lot to do with the internet, and social media. It's probably desensitised us to bad behaviour, and a warped sense of morality. I am convinced that Trump could not have become President in the 90s, when democratic safeguards were still strong. This is somewhat similar to what happened in Germany during the 1930s. The media and political opponents eventually fell in line with the Nazis, and the oligarchs supported him, since he was vehemently opposed to the Communist Party, who had the second most seats in the Reichstag. The fact that many on the right are trying to whitewash the Nazis, and emulate them is of course, extremely concerning. As I said before, this never ends well for any of us. Trump is treating traditional allies, the exact same was Germany treated Austria, Czechoslovakia, and Poland in the late 1930s. PS...The voices of the MAGA hyenas will become louder, and will dramatically increase in numbers soon. History tends to repeat itself, and ordinary Germans would tell people who did not fall in line, to shut up. We saw it at the church service, and we will see it with more frequency in the coming months.

It's not the fact that Trump has become a delusional madman that upsets me. It's the fact that so many Republicans bow down to him and let him take charge of what was once a respectable party. It's time for Canada to get together with Denmark and the rest of the EU. It matters little to Trump who the PM of Canada is, or how some are trying to appease him. Trump is hell bent on exploiting our natural resources, and he is prepared to use force to do so.

ICE harassing Native Americans. Sad, but this was to be expected. -

2% Defense GDP by 2030
NAME REMOVED replied to NAME REMOVED's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Nobody in NATO is going to spend 5% of their GDP on defence spending. Poland spends the most at 4%, and even the United States only spends 3.8% GDP. If Trump told NATO members to spend 90% of the GDP on defence, would you proceed to do so? -
Greenland? Buy it from Denmark
NAME REMOVED replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Did you even comprehend what I just wrote? It's states clearly that most people in Greenland speak Danish. It's like Montreal. Only a small minority speak English as a first language, but most people in Montreal are bilingual. It's the same thing in Nunavut. Both regions would overwhelmingly reject joining America. My guess is that 90% of residents vote "no." -
Greenland? Buy it from Denmark
NAME REMOVED replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
"About 12% of the population of Greenland speaks Danish as a first or sole language, particularly Danish immigrants in Greenland, many of whom fill positions such as administrators, professionals, academics, or skilled tradesmen. While Greenlandic is dominant in all smaller settlements, a part of the population of Inuit or mixed ancestry, especially in towns, speaks Danish. Most of the Inuit population speaks Danish as a second language. In larger towns, especially Nuuk and in the higher social strata, this is still a larger group."
