  1. I could be wrong.. it happens. However, I do not see quite the intense reaction to covid this second time around. The governor and other leaders where I work have already came out and stated that there will be no vax mandate and very unlikely to have a mask mandate. Since that time.. mid August 2023, there has not been any more correspondence about it.
  2. Just curious... if someone does not believe in god and does not care that anyone else does.. are they anti-Christian? I have no problem with someone being religious and therefore do absolutely nothing to impede one's practicing of said religion.. just as long as they leave me alone. My guess is that with your binary thinking.. either for us or against us, you can't allow for this.
  3. No, I would politely say that I am not religious and move it on to a new topic. Have done it many times before... it works. Here is where you fail at this test... you assume that only the religious man has something useful to say. I might as well but he is not going to listen.. but only I am being obstinate. I do not believe in anything. oh... and get this.. i do not care that you believe in anything. Leave me alone and do not proselytize me and I have zero problem with you practicing whatever religion you do.
  4. Believe it or not.. I have not read the Bible, will never do so, and do not pretend to be an expert. Also, I live 500 yards from a church. Do I have any ill will for them? No. Why? Because they leave me alone. No pamphlets, no one knocks at the door, nothing. They respect me in that way and so I am quite pleasant to anyone I encounter from the church. You seem like someone who could not be so amicable. ^^^ translated.. a reasonable discussion is where I or someone else agrees with you and tells you what you want to hear.
  5. A rational person can accept that someone can be equal, respectable, etc. and not believe in what they do. However, that is not the case with you or most religious types. Sad but true.
  6. My goodness.. you are such a comedian. I tried to have a rational discussion with you but as always with you religious types.... it always comes down to with us or against us and your justification... subjective opinion.
  7. and I do not believe in what you say.. no matter how many times you repeat it. With us or against us... so tribal and so primitive.
  8. Believe it or not... neither. One can not follow God nor Satan. This is not a binary option.
  9. It is comical that some think that being religious and/or having read religious texts makes you morally superior, smarter, etc. My paternal grandfather was a Catholic Priest as well as a sadist/pedophile
  10. first day in a while.. yes. Still.. simply hilarious. Its like the movie, Idiocracy, manifesting in real life.
  11. that may be so but there is nothing forcing me to care about this conflict let alone pick a side and act on its behalf
  12. admittedly, I do not care about this conflict. I am an atheist and so do not have a proverbial dog in the fight. I do lament that humans have to do such terrible things to each other. For those that perished, you have my condolences for what little that means.
  13. Legally speaking.. not sure that you can as long as certain protocols are met. All that a single individual can do if they disagree with it is not attend such rallies.
  14. In the world of internet forum posters.. there are few constants but there is one.. Conservatives view anyplace with a population of greater than 100,000 as $hitholes. Supposedly every city/town above 100,000 has no normal or nice parts. Nope.. every house is decrepit, every street is filled with criminals, littered with drug needles and feces, and the crime rate somehow is on the rise perpetually. No one is safe. Yet, have been in every city west of Denver, Colorado except Albuquerque, NM and yet... with the exception of a few neighborhoods they are remarkably boring. Was just in LA and SD this past week and there was nothing near the level of what certain Conservatives would have you believe.
  15. Survived Covid back in May 2020 so not going to live in fear. It sucked but it was not nearly as terrible as other accounts. Since that time, have had a bad case of shingles and gall bladder surgery. Both were far worse than my time with Covid.
  16. its a bit of a chicken vs. egg dilemma.. did the poverty create the absent father problem or did the absent father issue create the poverty. In my case.. we grew up quite poor and my dad was always there. The issue was that both my parents worked low paying jobs and they had 5 kids (9 years apart from oldest to youngest). Dad was an old cowboy from Eastern Idaho who did 3 tours in Vietnam. Upon returning.. went into drywall and stucco and like a lot of men during that time.. seriously hurt his back. He had back surgery and that greatly diminished his working opportunities. Finally, he and my mother were heavy duty smokers. No alcohol consumption of any kind ever but 2.5 to 3 packs a day is expensive even if it was the 80's.
  17. And in blue states.. your contention is that all teachers ceaselessly indoctrinate their students.. 100% of them.. every one and they do it every day. Strange how I do not see this ever... and I am married to a teacher and have two school-age children. NV is not exactly a blue state. It is more purple than anything. The heavily liberal Clark County gets mostly balanced by the fairly conservative (if not libertarian) other 16 counties.
  18. Interesting how as always you dodge that you made an accusation, could not back it up, and when called on the carpet... dodge. Own up to this and we can proceed. This shows that you have some character.. which you show little of. What is the accusation that I speak of well then look below.. Your zealousness stops you from being even a pi$$ poor researcher/analyst. Like Hodad, you've chosen to believe in the pseudovax no matter what evidence is presented to you, you're part of the credulous horde I've been talking about.
  19. So in this case.. you should stop being such a coward and admit that you have nothing to back up your assumption (look below). I will play your silly game if you own up to this. Silly is the operative word because it is doubtful that I have access to the raw data. Like Hodad, you've chosen to believe in the pseudovax no matter what evidence is presented to you, you're part of the credulous horde I've been talking about.
  20. today's task would be above WCM's intellect. It is to sync up, licensing data and occupational data. There is no direct link or common column. So how is it done.. You search the description field of the occupation and then do the same for the license description and do what is called a "Fuzzy Match". "Fuzzy" because it is not direct such as look for x in one column and then x in another column. There are a list of words found in the license description that trigger a match. For example.. cosmetology. We look for "hair dressing", "nail care", "styling", "skin care", etc in the license description and if we find them then we match it up to the occupational code whose descriptions contains the same words. If this was subjective.. the words would be interpreted differently depending on the subject .. who is reading them. We take the subjectivity out by having a defined set of words and only using them. The choice of words to use in a match is not up to me..
  21. From my experience.. it is Conservatives who blame teachers for all of society's ills. Their contention and I get this impression from you is that 100% of teachers who ceaselessly indoctrinate the students. None of them simply go to work and do a job.. it is some conspiracy masterminded by the DNC. Even teachers in red states.. are supposedly die-hard liberals indoctrinating the kids. I spent a day at my son's school and strangely did not see any of this.. how can that be?
  22. I challenge you to show where I have posted that I am in favor of the vax, vax mandates, and such. This is another way that you continually your lack of objectivity.. the assumptions. Your opinions are based on assumptions... If you are a true analyst or researcher, you do not assume. If you were not seeking my affirmation.. you would not keep responding.
  23. He is indeed a zealot. Zealots crave affirmation. It is both fascinating and pathetic that no matter the topic.. he always steers it back to covid. There are boatloads of statistics in this world that are not covid... I know because I construct them. Examples are jobs, wages, unemployment, unemployment rate, number of firms, wages by industry, unemployment insurance claims by county.. still not a mention of covid.
