ROFLMAO - awwww muffin - you're still bitter about being made to look the fool i take it I don't generally back down because i comment on subjects that i know the answers to well. So i don't need to try to prove them by frantically googling every time i reply which just leads to mistakes. Next time do your research first. But it's getting a little pathetic how you wander around whining and crying to anyone who'll listen about how i post more than you can and how i'm not nice to you. Nobody's asking for your lunch money, i'm sorry if you're having flashbacks or something. Yeah - you're right, i call out dumb when i see it. Sorry you got called out. Be less dumb.

At the present time OR moment - so not the present moment per se but at the present time rather than some future time. Or in the time immediately to follow. Yeah - if you complain NOW you can have results. Absolutely the truth and fits the definition. But it's clear it doesn't mean THIS MOMENT elusively but rather at the present time or in the immediate future. So I was right. And you were wrong. And you're trying to weasel out of being wrong based on some sort of technicality. Which makes you look like even more of a dolt. This is quite simple. IF people raise a fuss now, it is very possible they can do something bout the gas prices in the immediate future. That is a fact. I know you don't WANT that to be true, but its' true. I'm sorry that facts and truth make your life difficult. And what YOU'VE done is try to change the discussion to go from "now" being a general term for the present to "now" meaning this instant when you discovered you were wrong. Pathetic and childish as I said. The gov't can do something about gas prices right now. People can demand they do it right now. So yeah.

I am a firm believer in promoting our history and preserving it. But this has just been left far too long. To be considered to be a serious player on the world stage you need a formal gov't residence. Its a place where emissaries from around the world can be received and entertained, it's integral to the management of the people's business. It costs what it costs. We do trillions of dollars in trade with other countries, paying 40 mill for a place to host people is peanuts. But the original is just too far gone. As much as i hate to say it - scrap it, build something really nice and properly built for the future now and then MAINTAIN it. You can make it look similar to the old one if you like, whatever but for god's sake, surely our national pride and the image we present to the world is worth a few lousy million dollars.

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.

Sadly one of those rare areas you and i agree on. It's unfortunate. -
That sentence doesn't make sense. Not sure what you're saying there. And complaining can change the price now. But when that was pointed out to you then you have to CHANGE your argument to Ohh -- i mean in the next 2 seconds! Which isn't sane and is very dishonest of you And then when that gets pointed out it's Ohhhh - i mean only if ONE PERSON ONLY complains, not if more than one does, just one - can't be more than one! which also doesn't make sense The truth is you're wrong. Look at the booze tax. A bunch of people complained just as it was being implemented and lo and behold - it got lowered. You can bet that if you and others complained it would put pressure on the govt' to lower taxes on fuel. And you also have teh ability to encourage others to complain (rather than discourage it). So your 'one vote' can become many votes very fast with just a little work. While it's possible that can work pretty much overnight and we've seen that before, the truth is it may take a week or two. BUt - that's a pretty short time period and you were DEFINITELY not saying "Instantly' before, So - extremely dishonest and ridiculous. Bordering on childish. Of course there's things we can do before the next election to get gas prices down if it's something we want. The problem is a lot of lefties still think that things like the carbon tax are a good idea.

I edited my response to you btw - you were just too quick on the draw for me today But yes - aside from global warming there are all kinds of problems with pollution in general that affect our lives. Eventually we have to do away wiht emissions producing tech. -

Yeah. Especially as it's mostly driven by environmental groups. I honestly think it's just a bit of a lack of education and concerns over the first gen nuclear plants safety. They really need to drop that and get with the program, today's systems are an order of magnitude safer to the point of it being hard to imagine an accident, and the amount of residual waste is absolutely tiny. Disposing of it is no issue. See - then ev's would make even more sense. We wouldn't be burning carbon for power so it's a much more massive environmental impact to eliminate it from as much of the transport infrasturcture as possible - which then helps fund the Electrical upgrades and power stations because more electricity is being bought so it's totally worth it. -
I'm pretty sure i'm still a fascist nazi in her eyes I doubt she'll see it the way you do They're definitely being threatened with harm tho. If they lose their income in the middle of a pandemic how will they pay for their home, their food, their children's needs? What about their pensions - they may have counted on those for retirement and now they lose access to being able to fund them or may lose what they've donated so far depending how long their worked. You are at BEST seriously threatening their way of life, at worst they could wind up impoverished and on the street. That's a serious enough threat to qualify for coersion i think. But in the meantime you could be homeless and your children could do without. If we were to take it back to my example (which was intended to be extreme to highlight the point), you might think 'well if he shoots her she MIGHT survive, and i can always have another daughter". But is that really how most people would think? Or you could think "well i hate to lose my daughter but i should stand up for what i believe in". But again - is that REALLY a free choice? All choices have consequences, good or bad, but when the consequence exsits as a punishment for the choice then that's a problem, and it becomes coersion. They are forcing you to make the choice they want. Like i said - you could argue that it was NECESSARY because you believe that covid was such a threat that we HAD to force people to abandon their rights in favour of the greater good, but i don't think you could argue that it wasn't forced. And frankly i think you'd be on thin ice with the 'greater good' argument as well but at least that's more debateable.

Well i think they're punching themselves right now for drinking the 'climate coolaid" and shutting down their reactors in the name of the environment. Now they're compensating the other way and being very cautious. And in fairness till they work out their electricity issues it makes little sense to go to electric cars instead of gas when you'll just have to burn gas to produce the electricity. Might as well just use the gas for now till you sort it out. I think they should be very agressively looking at modern nuclear options. But i don't run the place. Apparently -
So you at least admit that yours are ridiculous Well there you go . No, you posted something which attempted to twist what i had said and pretend that it's relevant. this is the logical fallacy of 'bait and switch'. It's like asking what colour the sky is, then when the person answers "blue" you say "well apples are red so you're wrong". Sure apples are red. But that's not what was being discussed. You might not like it - but sure, a person can have a powerful impact on changing gov't tax policy. There are many ways. But when that gets brought up you try to alter the discussion such that it has to be done in 5 minutes, and then it has to be done with a single vote, etc etc. all of which is beyond dishonest And that's why nobody is taking you seriously. Maybe those tactics work for you on the elementary school playground? But adults see through that kind of nonsense in 2 seconds. And here's the thing - when you resort to those kinds of dishonest tricks you only convince others that you were wrong. It impresses no one.
-
That's true on the face of it - but i would note that it has long been held by legal tradition that coersion is still 'forcing' someone. If a person is given a choice where the alternative is so horrible that they will suffer extreme damage, it is seen that there really ISN'T a choice in other words - if i put a gun to your daughter's head and say "you can give me your wallet and leave or i can kill her", technically you have a choice but is it REALLY offering a choice? The law has usually said no, if you are coerced into making a choice then it's no choice. If the alternative is to lose your job and your livelyhood as was the csae with federal and provincial employees. especially at a time where finding other similar paying work would be very difficult, and you are restricted in your activities etc compared to vaccinated people, then you are being coerced. And as such i would say that in a very legal sense you were being forced to take the vaccine by law.
-
Lecture us again how CONSERVATIVES don't understand the concept of 'individuality' LOL
-
The vaccine was indeed legally enforced in Canada, For many if you didn't take it you faced punishment of losing your job, your right to travel, your right to gather for religious purposes, etc etc. Even the gov't doesn't deny it - they and others claim that it was NECESSARY to enforce it on Canadians. And you can make that case but you can't claim it wasn't enforced.

Do you need me to post the dozens of times where you literally say the jews are nazis? Oh - except where you argued that in the case you mentioned above you argued that you didn't mean ALL jews were nazis, you meant their gov't that they elected was nazi. So - just the gov't of the jewish nation was nazi. You've called jews nazi's in many threads other than that thread. You didn't stop till i pointed out that the mods are going to spot it one of these days and you'll wind up punted. You literally called jews nazis. Word for word. You didn't just 'insinuate' it as you suggest ,

Antifa is attempting to NORMALIZE fascism. Not fight it. They use violence, intimidation, bullying and fear to try to force people to do what they want and agree with their agenda. They are extremely nationalist, believing that their vision for the nation is the ONLY one that should be allowed to exist. They are horrible people and the people of the us and canada have become fed up with their hatred and violence. That's why the feds classified their activites as 'domestic terrorist violence'.
-
You've never known what to tell people. That's why everyone thinks you're a bit of a joke. You simply call everyone you don't like a nazi or a fascist or 'unhinged' because you can't come up with a coherent argument against them. You're stuck in your echo chamber and when you post it's painfully obvious even to those here who lean left that you don't give rational thought to anyone, you just blather in accordance to your talking points And of course you hate the people who point that out the most. Its obvious you become emotionally unstable if anyone dares speak truth to your power. Sorry kiddo - if you thought anyone was taking you seriously or had respect for you i'm afraid you were not being honest with yourself.

Well if they've done absolutely nothing then what are you crying about? Obviously they're not at fault for anything then So millennials then. They've certainly done that, they keep voting in liberal gov'ts who make the environment worse and worse and insisting on things like carbon taxes which do nothing but keep the economy from improving. As to society - fair enough you can't accuse the millennials of not changing society - historically canadians have been very united but thanks to the millenial efforts we are now a more divided and hostile country than we have ever been by far. That's definitely new. Well you are lying of course. That's what happens when you focus on your echo chamber instead of facts, you wind up lying to attempt to justify your position. "wealth gap' has been addressed, CO2 is going up becasue of millenials, not the boomers, and the only dictator you need to worry about right now is the one in ottawa. No, we just need people who think with their heads and not their echochambers. No balls needed. It's simple. But unfortunately we may have to wait a generation or two more before that happens. The millennials seem to think they can solve the problems with blaming others and essential oils. The 'dictators' are sending their children to 'kingon school'. Uh huh. These 'dictators'.... are they in the room with us right now? I'm sure you'll answer - it just won't be much of an answer. Lefties like you don't care about sustainability. Like - at all. You like to virtue signal that you do but you don't. Otherwise you woudn't support the current carbon tax - it jsut lines the pockets of the gov't and does nothing for the environment. You wouldn't keep voting in a party that has the WORST environmental record - that keeps you happy by signing documents like kyoto and paris and then COMPLETELY ignoring them and blowing past their targets. You repress our own oil and gas industries which forces allies to switch to russian fuel, and pays for wars which aren't exactly environmentally friendly. You ignore that a prosperous gas industry could fund our future green tech instead of war. You pretend if we're not digging up the oil that somehow the people around the world who now buy it from the Russians will stop using oil. You want to know who's to blame for the current situation? Go look in a mirror kiddo. It ain't the boomers.

Whether you like it or not both do. That doesn't mean she represents my views, and that's one of the reasons that mps are supposed to stick close to party lines and be cautious about what they say. Only Justin tends to use terms like "canadians want" or "canadians know" etc - he does it on purpose. He certainly doesnt' represent me or my ideals per se but unfortunately as a member of parliament he does get to say he's a representative of Canadians. So yes - if may is at a press conference and speaks about canadians then she has that right, even tho she may not specifically represent you or me. You notice that your mp is not officially called "the representative from 'x' riding, but rather the 'member' from x riding. The riding chooses which person they will send to represent canada - not just their riding. Otherwise the mp would only vote on matters directly involved with their riding instead of all matters.
-
Well if you mean boomers by 'you people' then the answer is simple - they have guns and balls and you don't I'm sure future generations will lie to themselves about it just like you do, but the only thing people who do that 'Get" is what they deserve . Doesn't sound like you have much of an answer for anything. Can't imagine why your generation is failing

It is. And he often becomes confused. This really isn't political - regan had issues by the end as well - but the guy isn't all there and republican or democrat he's really not fit to lead a country. i thought he'd step aside for the next go around and let someoene else take a crack but unfortunately not the case it would seem
