  1. Yes, folks. The Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News Daily Caller, Newsmax, Conservapedia, Truth Social, Bildenberg, Illuminati, New World Order, 9-11 Truther, Birther, Q-Anon, election fraud, immigrants-eating-pets, MAGA republicans are the new "rational majority." You heard it here first.
  2. They've pumped the chumps. Let the dump begin! Trump Media co-founder and former ‘Apprentice’ contestant dumps about $100 million worth of stock Yes, anybody who trusts Trump with their investment deserves what they get. (This was never a remotely plausible business.) But it's also a real shame that Mom and Pop investors are going to get hurt because they fell for a classic con from a known con man.
  3. Don't be silly. Nobody was sacrificing their state economies to "hurt Trump." That's conspiracy kook stuff. Consider rational explanations instead for whatever it is you think you observed. Epidemiology in urban vs rural settings etc.
  4. You're rewriting history here. Loughner was not "far left" in any way. He was a registered independent, but outspokenly anti-government, anti-school, and attached to the right-wing conspiracies of the day regarding the New World Order, government mind control, 9-11 truther etc. Bottom line though, nutty as a fruit cake. Have to be to take those conspiracy theories seriously enough to act on them.
  5. I'm sure we can clear this up with a letter to his senior campaign staff. Oh, wait, they resigned en masse when they discovered that their guy was a creep and a self-proclaimed nazi.
  6. The idea that you "think for yourself" is honestly the craziest thing you've ever said. At best, you're a poor parrot of the nonsense you mainline from Fox. Masks are not unhealthy. Used properly and of appropriate quality, they work. And nice try spinning on Warp Speed. The fact remains that Pfizer did it first, and arguably better, without any assistance from Trump. Turns out a multi-billion dollar business opportunity is its own motivator. 🎓
  7. A. Zelensky is in the US for the UN General assembly. B. While here, he visited a munitions factory that is literally making the ammunition that is keeping his country in the fight. C. The GOP can invite Bebe, but Zelensky causes you outrage? D. Did you REALLY just ask what the difference is between colluding with enemies of the US to influence an election and hosting one of our democratic allies?
  8. A. No he didn't. The first vaccine available in the US was from Pfizer, which didn't receive any Warp Speed funding. B. He then undermined the vaccination effort at every turn as he learned that his stupid MAGA base was heavily anti-vax. Instead of getting vaccinated on TV like a leader, he did it privately--and when he finally acknowledged it his MAGA crowd booed him. 🙄 And that was basically it. Same MO for masking. That's basically the way the whole thing went. Instead of being a leader and vocal advocate for medical best practices, he followed the ignorant mob whose adulation he craves.
  9. In terms of the live economy, I think you're right that it's not much different. In terms of deficit and debt, we would have been significantly better off without his elective deficits. (He could have been on track to balance the budget when COVID struck.) We could have been a bit better off economically if people had been rallied to participate in stemming the spread. But mainly I think the damage was social. Sending mixed messages (at best) and actively undermining medical advice cost us a lot of lives and money, but it also left long term scars of a completely unnecessary "us vs them." Instead of rallying the nation together like a leader should do in times of war or crisis, he politicized the hell out of COVID to unnecessarily divide us. He made a selfish calculus, and he miscalculated. And it cost him both his second term and a potential legacy.
  10. I really don't care in the least that you stupidly believe that the Vice President has unilateral control over the election. Everyone playing along knows you're entirely full of crap. Snuggle up in your rocking chair you senile old twat.
  11. You are a clown. No, Gore did not order a national recount from his ceremonial seat.🤪 Never happened. There is no such power. Gore simply did his job an presided over the election certification as he was legally required to do. You know, without trying to declare himself the winner. 🙄 He abided by the court's ruling. He had conceded. He didn't claim voter fraud or try to stage a coup. Pretty basic stuff.
  12. Trump could have done dozens of things better, starting with not running huge elective deficits during a strong economy, modeling and advocating responsible vax and mask use, not deliberately lying to America about COVID being no big deal when he knew otherwise, not pretending that it would magically disappear by Easter, not gassing up unapproved alternative medicines etc. What America needed was a smart POTUS who would tell people the truth, STFU when medical experts are talking and then proselytize and model the prescribed response. Instead Trump did the opposite of all of that. He actively misled the public, he actively undermined masking protocol, he didn't promote vaccine use, he held very public superspreader events that even sickened and killed his political allies. And he did all of that because he discovered that the deplorables he depended on didn't like the truth about COVID or any of the steps they should have been following. As always, he put political expedience over doing the right thing for the people. He could have been a leader, brought the country together and cemented his reelection. Instead he was a follower, and he followed the ignorant yokels instead of the medical community. The "Biden economy" is as defined by the pandemic as much as the Obama economy was defined by the Great Recession. Republicans hand Democrats dumpster-fire economies in extreme crisis--and then spend the next 4 years bltching about the challenges of recovery as if Obama or Biden were responsible for those difficulties. If you want to oversimplify what happens economically to assign blame to whoever is sitting the Oval Office in a given circumstance, that's silly. But at least farking be consistent. You want to give Trump a free pass on his last year while blaming the shit out of Biden for the pains of recovery.
  13. No, Pence could not have ordered a recount, you loon. There is no legal mechanism for that. Jeebus. The VP is not the King of Elections.🙄
  14. You just can't stop lying. Yes, having Pence pick the winner absolutely was part of their plan. That was the core of the plan, and the first option identified. Create fake electors. Use the fake electors they created as a pretense to declare dispute. Then Pence can discard as many states as he needs to give Trump the win. Again, point 3 of the Eastman plot. "3. At the end, he announces that because of the ongoing disputes in the 7 States, there are no electors that can be deemed validly appointed in those States. That means the total number of "electors appointed" – the language of the 12th Amendment – is 454. This reading of the 12th Amendment has also been advanced by Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe. A "majority of the electors appointed" would therefore be 228. There are at this point 232 votes for Trump, 222 votes for Biden. Pence then gavels President Trump as re-elected." The truth is NOT on your side. Pence had no more legal authority to demand a recount than he had to pick a winner. They were all illegal schemes. Eastman acknowledged that they were illegal. He even asked Trump for a pardon. Jeebus.
  15. It is patently false that the VP ceremonially overseeing the counting of certified votes can stop that process and demand a nationwide recount. That's just as crazy as thinking he or she magically has the power to simply pick the winner they prefer. What you're saying is in no way grounded in reality. It's the juvenile fantasy of people who have no idea how our election system could or SHOULD work. The precedent does not exist, nor should it. How farking insane do you have to be to sit there and argue that in a democratic country, Kamala Harris will have unilateral control of whether she wins or loses the upcoming election? It's unbelievably stupid. Just stop.
  16. Nobody forgot about COVID, smoothbrain. We just reject your sad attempts selectively acknowledge the economic impact of the pandemic. You will bltch and moan--and lie--all day every day about the "Biden economy," which has, remarkably, come out of the COVID crater quickly and safely. Sorry, go fark yourself. if you're going to disingenuously blame Biden for the inevitable challenges of overseeing a successful recovery, Trump can own his disastrous COVID economy as well. If you're going to be economically illiterate, at least try to muster the decency to do it consistently.
  17. Iran is going to have to get in line behind the fast food industry.
  18. A. The "option" is not there. There is no precedent and no legal mechanism. Think (for once) about how farking insane it is to say that a VP can simply reject the certified state votes at his or her whimsy. B. You continue to lie. To support your point above you posted an opinion piece that he was legally required to reject "fraudulent" state votes.
  19. Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense. If he expected to be dead, how would he pay anyone to finish the job?
  20. Again, if she's stupid, that's bad news for Trump, because she played him like a fiddle. Trump (who, BTW, has no answers no policies and never has) looked like a deranged buffoon. Though I'll agree that she SHOULD have been prepared, with numbers, to defend the economic record. The numbers tell the story of the dramatic recovery of this economy under Biden and she would have been much better off making that case.
  21. The issue, frankly, is that that the MAGA crew don't have any idea what those words mean. Just ignorant. Trump, in his stump speech, regularly calls Harris a "Marxist, Communist, Fascist." 🤷‍♂️
  22. Plausible. Her answers ranged from missed opportunities to prep-based semi answers to a few strong answers and lines. She clearly didn't get the test beforehand. Trump was just a rambling firehose of non-answers and lies. The contrast made Harris look wildly competent by comparison, not any scheme.
  23. You are such a clown. Low interest and low inflation are not signs of a good economy. In fact, low interest rates and very low inflation together typically signal recession, because growth is slowing and and the fed is out of levers to stop it. GDP has recovered under Biden. Employment has recovered under Biden. Wages have recovered under Biden. The stock market has recovered under Biden. Oil production has recovered under Biden. Biden ran lower deficits and accumulated less debt than Trump Compared to the mess Biden inherited from Trump, virtually every economic indicator has improved. And you clowns are pretending the exact opposite. 🙄
  24. Future generations will not thank us, but yes, the idea the Biden did anything to drive UP gas prices is asinine and completely devoid of economic reasoning. Just know-nothings squawking their partisan song.
  25. Obviously they didn't. Harris was unprepared to answer the very first question, which should have been a home run. Was there anything in that debate that wouldn't have been covered in debate prep? No, there were no surprises.
