Taylor Swift Derangement Syndrome
Rebound replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Because the comments I cited about Taylor Swift are utterly deranged. They aren’t criticisms of her, and they aren’t disagreements with her opinions. She comes to her boyfriend’s football games and gets on-camera for 20 seconds a game, and even people here claim they don’t want to watch football anymore… because the camera panned to the most famous celebrity of the year. That’s deranged. -

This is the heart of the problem —we’ve gone way, way past simply disagreeing about which policies are best for America. It’s sad. -
And the Republican Congress blocked that immigration bill, and they’re still blocking immigration legislation.

I think that Biden is the Democratic President of the United States, and that it does not matter who the Democratic President of the United States is, the Republican Party and right wing media will definitely portray that person as “something bad.” They begin by saying, “Hey, this person is pro-abortion. Therefore, the person is a baby murdered and every single decision the person makes is immoral and evil.” It is a deeply flawed argument, but that’s what they do. -

Maybe, but Biden isn’t offering to pardon any of the people who got prosecuted for those riots. He isn’t calling them “hostages” and he wasn’t encouraging them to do it. The blood of January 6 is on Trump’s hands.

I don’t think it is the most urgent problem facing America by a long shot.

New York Judge Arthur Engoron just issued a statement that the verdict in the $370 million Trump civil fraud trial is on hold until mid-February. The news comes days after the financial monitor appointed to oversee the Trump organization’s finances issued a report finding additional instances of fraud, particularly a phantom $50 million dollar loan made from a company owned by Trump to Trump personally. The purpose of the $50 million loan was to avoid paying taxes, but since the loan did not occur and was barely documented, red flags are ablaze. This instance of fraud occurred AFTER Donald Trump agreed to the appointment and selection of the monitor. IOW, he had been caught with his hands in the cookie jar, knew there was a cookie jar monitor… yet he still kept putting his hands in the cookie jar. This new revelation will undoubtedly increase the size of the $370 million verdict and will very likely also result in a referral for IRS and New York State prosecution for tax evasion. After all, it’s “only” $50 million… https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4443327-trump-ny-fraud-verdict-now-expected-by-mid-february-court/amp/ https://www.salon.com/2024/02/01/further-evidence-of-fraud-legal-analyst-says-monitors-revelation-may-doom-trumps-company/

Cause border guards work for free and prisons are free and immigration lawyers are free? Geez you’re dumb.

If I read what you quoted, it says the purpose was to maintain peace, not to prepare for an attack. And let me add: If Netanyahu prevented the money going to Gaza, why, of course you’d say he’s a cruel, inhumane person who’s making the Palestinians needlessly suffer. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t?

Taylor Swift Derangement Syndrome

Taylor Swift is more popular than Donald Trump or Joe Biden. She is the most popular performer in the world, and that’s saying a lot. I have absolutely no idea if she will endorse Biden, or if she’ll campaign for him. But there’s a reason why the MAGAverse is already freaking out over her and creating conspiracy theories about Taylor Swift, the NFL, the government and the aliens from youranus. She is a potential threat to Donald Trump. I think it’s a foolish move to attack her before she does anything, because if the attacks cost her the MAGA fan base and record sales, then supporting Biden strongly can only help her. -

She understands business, and to any business trying to attract a mass audience, you don’t want to be Democrat or Republican, because picking a side is bad for business. Look at any major brand, and they don’t want to be associated with a political party, and they certainly don’t publicize their associations. Exxon certainly funds Republicans, but they don’t brand it cause they want to sell gas to everybody. I’m surprised that I have to point this out to you or anyone, but you used to work for the government, so maybe you don’t understand business. They teach us on Day One: Don’t bring up religion or politics with your customers, cause you never know what they’re thinking. There’s a video of Swift discussing this with her father. They clearly understood that any political involvement could only have negative repercussions for her. -

Have you ever sat through a Chiefs game? Her seat’s inside an enclosed box and she gets little air time during the game. She’s great for the NFL, though.
