"Former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his government supported and funded carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology . While opponents criticized his environmental record, the Harper government consistently positioned CCS as a key strategy for reducing Canada's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, particularly from the energy sector. Key examples of the Harper government's support for carbon capture include: Boundary Dam Project: In 2008, Harper repeated his support and announced federal funding for the Boundary Dam CCS project in Saskatchewan. The $1.4-billion pilot project aimed to capture carbon dioxide from a coal-fired generator, with the federal government contributing significantly to the endeavor. Clean Energy Fund: The Harper government's Economic Action Plan created a $1-billion Clean Energy Fund to support CCS initiatives. In 2009, funding from this program was distributed to eight different carbon capture projects in Western Canada. Oilsands investment: In 2013, Harper committed $82 million to fund clean-energy projects, including those researching more efficient ways to capture carbon dioxide from the Alberta oilsands. He argued that CCS was a "practical and responsible way of developing the oilsands". World leader status: In 2009, Harper expressed the belief that Canada could be a world leader in carbon capture and storage technology. Official communications from his government referred to Canada as a global leader in CCS research and development. However, some critics viewed the Harper government's emphasis on carbon capture as a way to avoid stronger climate action and regulations for the oil and gas industry. Environmental Minister Jonathan Wilkinson, a member of a later government, stated that under Harper, "carbon capture got a very bad reputation... because it was pointed to as the way to solve climate change," rather than part of a broader strategy.

Your "warning" is hypocritical religious BS. The bible has hatred as well and your hatred of muslims and other religions is obvious since you post it so often...hence, you are a hypocrite.
-
I see by many of your posts that anyone that disagrees with you or does not suck your political d*ck is having a meltdown. Sad when all you have is yourself to play with LOL You should know by now that I don't give a shite what you think of me or anything else but hey, I am so embedded in your head you cannot let go LOL Oh and, I am far from being a loser, it is you that is a proven political LOSER LOL Have fun in your closet
-
I figure that by the number and type and denigrating posts you make. I spend my life in the real world of today, not in some millenial old book that has become redundant in todays world and society. Your hatred and despicable inferences to anyone that is not on your religious page defies your preaching. You are amongst the worst hypocrites on this forum.

Prince George as been a shit hole for a very long time. My son in law was a RCMP officer there years ago and said PG was as bad as Surrey (where he was also a RCMP office). The problem is local city officials and the BC government.

Carney and Ford bromance on the rocks over Trump, autos
ExFlyer replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And that bully kicks then you in the nuts. The entire world has realized what Trump is and all are walkig on eggshells. Point with Stelanits, boycott them and all other Chrysler products. The plant was closed anyway and was to re-open to make the Compass. The Compass is a money losing vehicle, the plant would have closed anyway. Stelantis itself was probably going to declare bankruptcy. "Stellantis reported a 70% drop in net profits in 2024 to 5.5 billion euro ($5.76 billion), as well as a 64% decline in adjusted operating income, the automaker announced in its 2024 financial results Feb. 26" -

ExFlyer replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No it is not. A few bites but not the discussion. The tariffs also do not affect anything that is under CUSMA. You deal with a bully and see how far you get LOL So, we boycott American products, we take bourbon off the shelf....why do we not boycott Stelantis products? Boycott all Chrysler products and see if Stelantis bows. -
What The Conservatives Did To Canada Oh yeah...nothing LOL They just perfected their whining and crying LOL

Carney and Ford bromance on the rocks over Trump, autos
ExFlyer replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You have no idea what he told Ford Ahh yes, typical confux...back to insulting people. Yes, Trumps places new tariffs on the whole world every month or even more frequently...Canada is not special so we get them too. Ford left the meeting knowing what was going on and, unlike PP who knows nothing about what is going on LOL -
Carney and Ford bromance on the rocks over Trump, autos
ExFlyer replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The takeaway here is he is briefing Ford and not PP. If PP had his security clearance, PP would be in the know as well instead of constant uninformed whining. LOL If you think 1/2 a year discussing with Trump and his minions is easy...the entire world would be a lot farther ahead with trade deals than it is now. And clearly you have no grasp of in camera negotiations LOL -
Carney and Ford bromance on the rocks over Trump, autos

Back on topic...... Now is the time to talk': Carney rules out hitting the U.S. with retaliatory tariffs https://ca.yahoo.com/news/time-talk-carney-rules-hitting-163505856.html "Prime Minister Mark Carney said Thursday his government is not considering hitting American goods with more retaliatory tariffs, even as the trade war rages on, because there are signs that the bilateral talks on relief are headed in the right direction." "While the so-called Section 232 tariffs on steel, aluminum, lumber and autos have been particularly punitive, most other Canadian goods continue to trade into the U.S. tariff-free. Carney has so far maintained tariffs on most U.S. steel, aluminum and certain auto imports as he holds out for a deal." "Carney said he would brief Ford on the progress of those talks, which have been centered on the steel, aluminum and energy sectors, including a possible revival of the Keystone XL pipeline." If PP would get his security clearance, he would also get briefings like Ford will get -
Yes you can elect someone based on the events of the day. Thing is, when things change as. dramatically have, so must the tactics. I am not , in any way , lying about anything, I am discussing and giving my take on things without becoming accusatory and belligerent.. I do not hold a grudge against Carney. I believe he is doing the best he can under the thing of orange man, as are most word leaders. Not arguing with a bully is the best tactic. You can believe what you wish. I have stated my opinion.

Bottom line is that Canadians are unsure of the question. Even CPC are 57%are inappropriate/not sure. There is no "hypocrisy", there is no "practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; ". Things have changed and continue to change every day when dealing with Trump and the strategy has to change with it. New tariffs form orange man happen every day to everyone, not just Canada. Trying to minimize them to Canada is the key. "Canada is not officially in a recession, as a recession is technically defined as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth, and the economy has shown some signs of growth in recent months." My point was/is, Carney is not praising or gushing to Trump. He in fact is not saying much (pro or con) and that is to prevent Trump from having a hissy fit as he so often and regularly does. I think , in this situation, silence is golden. Don't pi$$ off the bully. Oh and"elbows up" is really getting old and means nothing any more
-
It is very evident you have never heard him speak at any time. He always speaks french in every public address. Yeah well, Canada has 2 official languages...English and French. Officially bilingual.
-
Not sure what poll this was and by who it was taken. Also, am not sure why you say " liberals and their supporters are the biggest hypocrites on the entire planet.". Only 23% said it was appropriate, whereas 22% of the total Canadians said it was. (24% NDP and 21% BQ). 57% of cpc said is was appropriate or were not sure/did not know. Secondly, it is appropriate not to pi$$ off Trump, so being non committal and non critical with him is the wise thing to do as most other world leaders have been.

Canada post said everyone will get their mail at community mail boxes. They said there were only 4 million customers getting door to door ( I am one) and that will take 4 years to accomplish. In my mind, it takes a few months to build boxes (using Canadian steel and aluminum LOL) and a few more to install them. Why 4 years?? Who knows. Canada Post said over 15,000 will retire over the next 5 years. "A Job Bank report from December 2024 states that 47% of Canadian postal workers were aged 50 and over in 2023. While the most recent average age is unknown, the high percentage of workers over 50 and the median retirement age suggest that the postal workforce remains older than the average Canadian employee"

I think it is the pressure from the members that is making the union back off. Members are fully aware they have no public support. Member's are also aware the Post office is broke and losing money. Members are starting to be aware the have to minimize the damage they have caused. Members now have to come to grips that they are gong to lose many jobs and have to regroup
