  1. Seems the public is just fine so far. Yes, some businesses and charities are complaining but, they will find a way if they really want to.
  2. "Canadians can expect to see some mail moving in their mailboxes again, but not on a regular schedule. That’s because the union representing Canada Post workers has shifted its strike action to rotating stoppages, which started on Saturday." https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/article/mail-to-move-again-as-canada-post-workers-shift-to-rolling-strike-action/ Is the union nuts???? Going on rotating stoppages only proves Canad Posts statements that we do not need 5 day a week delivery. The union seems to make Canada Posts point. We do not need all the workers. They can cut employees and we will not feel any difference. Another case of the unions screwing their members and losing their usefulness.

  14. I was watching the news and they said that Canada Post was not allowed to make changes by government laws. They had to provide services regardless of the changing economic times. "As a federal Crown corporation, Canada Post has historically had limitations on its ability to change services due to its mandate under the Canada Post Corporation Act. These regulations and policies, many of which were outdated, restricted its ability to adapt to modern realities, resulting in significant financial challenges" The union is very aware of the economic position the Post Office is in. The government is now making changes to enable the Post Office to to restructure but that will have severe consequences and that, of course pi$$es the union off. As I said, and you confirmed, he public has no sympathy for the postal workers and will not shed a tear if they lose positions and work. The union has to do a lot to save what they can and stop demanding.
  15. My pints were not who we sell the oil to but who the owners of the oil sands production are. Also when the sale of the pol sands was enacted and that was during the Harper tenure. What the liberals did or do with China is no different than what Harper did. As I said, all government parties dealt with China because, at the time, that was the best deal for Canada. Also, yes, Canadians are employed but that has nothing to do with who owns the company. Walmart employs Canadians. So does Home Depot. So does Starbucks and every other foreign company operating in Canada. "Chinese companies own Canadian oil sands, through several major state-owned enterprises and other entities that have made significant investments in the sector, such as CNOOC (which owns Nexen), Sinopec (a partner in the Syncrude consortium), and PetroChina (which formerly owned a fully Chinese-controlled project). Chinese companies have pursued investments in Canada's oil sands to secure raw materials for their growing economy and have acquired both full project ownership and significant stakes in Canadian oil and gas companies." "Chinese investments in the Canadian oil sands. 60% stake in Athabasca's MacKay and Dover oil sands projects, plus its subsequent purchase of the remaining 40% of the MacKay project. " "How much of Alberta oil is foreign owned? 71 per cent ForestEthics Advocacy released a game-changing research brief today documenting the massive foreign control of Alberta's tar sands oil industry. Publicly traded oil companies with active tar sands operations have a very high level of foreign ownership – 71 per cent." https://thenarwhal.ca/tar-sands-oil-companies-71-percent-foreign-owned-cue-ezra-levants-outrage/ https://macleans.ca/economy/business/our-chinese-oil-sands/ https://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/international-business/asian-pacific-business/timeline-chinese-ownership-in-canadas-oil-patch/article6115488/
  16. Canada, all parties toyed with the Chinese but, bottom line...it was Harper and the conservatives that sold out our oil to the Chinese
  17. What a f*cking LOSER you are LOL Harpers government allowed the sale of the oil sands production. The links says it all....you just cannot read LOL "So what DID harper do? He enabled the sale of the oil sand production to Chinese companies LOL Harpers government was the one that enabled and allowed the sale...it is so sad you think otherwise LOL Man oh Man..what a LOSER and conservative shill.. Facts are facts and no matter how you try to disguise them,....The feds, Harper at the time , had total control of the sale and they allowed it to go through. The only swing and a miss is from you HA HA HA
  18. Key is that the oil sands was sold to China by the Harper government. I see how the facts f*ck you up again LOL You cannot admit Harper government allowed (or even encouraged) the oil sands production sale to the Chinese, regardless of the quotes and links I provided. The Harper government allowed the sale of Canadian oil sands assets to China through the approval of China National Offshore Oil Corporation's (CNOOC) takeover of Calgary-based Nexen Inc. in 2012 .However, this approval came with new, stricter rules aimed at preventing further foreign state-owned enterprises from taking controlling stakes in the oil sands. "cheer on their chosen leader, Stephen Harper, as he opens the tar sands to Nexen and CNOOC, a government-owned oil company owned by a foreign government that describes its economy as “Communism with Chinese characteristics.” Stephen Harper made it clear he wasn’t happy with the decision he made." https://www.resilience.org/stories/2013-01-09/why-did-harper-invite-the-chinese-government-to-buy-canada-s-tar-sands/ Oh and, your conservatives f*cked up and all you can do is attack me??? Me... upset? Not likely...especially when I can smear facts in your face again. Seems to me that you are one upset when you find out your as f*cked as your hero Harper when he sold control of of our oil to China. LOL What a LOSER you are
  19. Hmmm, if I remember, it was during the Conservative Harper reign that the oil sands were sold to china. Seems to me Mr Harper was the one that had affection for China. Chinese state-owned companies, primarily Sinopec and CNOOC, have purchased significant stakes in Canada's oil sands and projects like Syncrude and Nexen since 2010, driven by China's need to fuel its economy and secure energy resources. These investments also include direct purchases of oil and crude by Chinese companies, with China becoming a major importer of Canadian crude in recent years." "PetroChina becomes the first Chinese state-owned company to wholly own a Canadian oil sands development after agreeing to buy out partner's Athabasca Oil Sands Corp.'s stake in a newly approved project for $680 million." The Beijing-based company paid $1.9 billion in 2009 for 60 per cent interests in the proposed MacKay River and Dover oilsands projects being developed by Athabasca Oil Sands Corp. (now just Athabasca Oil Corp.), then bought out the rest of MacKay for $680 million in 2012 and Dover for $1.2 billion in 2014. Key Investments & Purchases CNOOC: Acquired Nexen Energy in 2014 for $15.1 billion, securing direct access to oil sands assets. Sinopec: Bought a 9% stake in the Syncrude oil sands mining consortium in 2010 and has seen steady production from it. PetroChina: Invested in Canadian oil sands projects like MacKay River and Dover in 2009. China Investment Corp: Purchased a 45% stake in oil sands properties near Peace River, Alberta. https://globalnews.ca/news/5851590/china-investment-alberta-oilsands-energy-canada/
