Canadian Judges increasing make governmental decisions
ExFlyer replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How can a judge not be political as it is politicians that passed the charter of rights and all laws in Canada and they just rule on them.. The charter and laws are all politics. You don't need to be elected to know that or to rule on that. So, judges do not "make government decisions" they just ensure the laws before them meet what the politicians have written. When fault is found in the written llw, they strike it down and politicians have to re-write them or.....leave them as they are and not enforcable. -
Natural gas should be a public resource again
ExFlyer replied to Griswold's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
herbie...if you don't have the money to pay for oil now, how are you going to pay for the LNG and change to the infrastructure? And how do you know LNG will be cheaper than oil. And, it all comes down to dollars and sense and sense is what you are lacking. LOL It is always easy for you to spend someone elses money LOL -
As expected by August1991 and Myata LOL

So?? Point??? "Inflation Rate in Argentina increased to 142.70 percent in October from 138.30 percent in September of 2023. " "1980s spurring chronic hyperinflation throughout that decade. The inflation crisis hit a peak in 1989 with rates reaching more than 3,000 percent at certain points." Argentina is not like Canada in any way LOL

Natural gas should be a public resource again

No, i do not see. And the question is "Who Shall Pay?" They gonna lay the pipe for free? Or will the cost on the LNG include that pipe?? You really do not have much of a clue do you herbie? LOL Nothing is free. Oh and, I would never buy an EV to save money on gas. -

What a stupid thing to say. Economics drives your life. If they cannot get it for cheaper than they are paying now, they will not buy it, plain and simple. It is not even a matter of getting it o the maritimes but, how much will it cost the province (or utility company) to lay pipes to every house? How much will it cost every homeowner to convert? Christ, they cannot afford the cost of oil now and the infrastructure is all there. Even you herbie would not pay more for heating your house if you already have for less. So, like it or not herbie...economics is the driver. -
Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
ExFlyer replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
The dealer never completed the diagnostics. Key was the owner decided to scrap the car and never gave Hyundai an opportunity till the news got a hold of the "story". The owner jumped the gun. He panicked and never went further. Hyundai, once they were aware, told him they would buy the car back. Anyway, like always, there are 2 sides to a story and the most dramatic (even if incorrect) makes the headlines. -

This story is BS. He did not allow the dealer to do a full investigation. He did not check with Hyundai. The vehicle actually had over 10K kms on it. He scrapped the car on his own. "Hyundai Canada released a response to the incident, saying that “comprehensive diagnostic tests were not completed on the vehicle … (and the vehicle) … was scrapped by the customer before these diagnostic procedures could be completed, precluding a definitive assessment of the required service.” The statement also said that the initial estimate given to Sooch “was not representative of the likely actual cost in this case.” “We sincerely apologize to Mr. Sooch for these lapses in communication and service,” reads the statement. Additionally, Hyundai Canada plans to “resolve this situation by paying fair market value for his vehicle either in cash or towards a new Hyundai, as part of our commitment to our customers.”" -
The shocking state of the Canadian military
ExFlyer replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
With the exception of Dougie (who commends and defends torture and murder by soldiers), and in my 35 years service and more post service, I have never met or heard of a Canadian military person that meets your categories of "glory seekers, and those that think because they did serve they're somehow more of a Canadian than ones that didn't." I think you watch too many American action movies. -
The shocking state of the Canadian military
ExFlyer replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
After 35 years in the Military, rising to the rank Of Chief Warrant Officer, I retired, with dignity. I went to the release centre at NDHQ. I sat down in front of a private who asked me some questions, looked at and showed me copies of documents he was giving me. Made me sign for these copies. Took my building pass and called for an escort to show me the door. I was done. I was done and on the street. I now had to find a doctor, dentist and other needs. There was no and is no support for anyone leaving the Military. We do not have Military services or hospitals or doctors to take care of veteran yet most Canadian think we do. We are not Americans that honour respect and think their veterans for their service. I am not looking for sympathy as I did very well. I had planned and was OK but just to say, when our military releases after service, they are nothing. Some try to stay in their past lives but really, it is mostly their imagination of grandeur. The Military is not "society" and never should be as we ask our men and women in the military to do things the rest of Canadians do not want to do, or should not have to do. We train them to do the dirty shit Canadians do not want to talk about. We should give them the respect for doing that for us. -
Yup, "that sort of back fired didn't it." on you eh?? LOL You were trying to back out of your initial stat link and indicating future years? Oh, by the way, Chretien and Harper were PM's prior to 2015. If they had legitimate reasons like wars, you disagree with the wars now being legitimate reasons??

Economics..... Will it be economical enough to send it through the Panama Canal and up to the maritimes and all the infrastructure needed for it? Shake your heads and let reality set in.
