Iraq Invasion - America's Shame... 10 years on
Hudson Jones replied to waldo's topic in The Rest of the World
Perhaps at the trial, Saddam would have talked about how it was okay for him to be a murderous, cruel dictator in America's view before it suddenly mattered in order to excuse a war which came to be, based on lies. Maybe he would talk about how U.S. sold chemical weapons to Iraq which were used on its own people and the Iranians. THAT was okay. But suddenly, Saddam decides he doesn't want to be the lapdog, and OH MY GOD HE'S A MONSTER!!!!111 U.S.' actions brought Al Qaeda and instability into Iraq. People who try to sell the superficial view that "Iraq had a chance to flourish, but blew it" after Saddam's fall are either completely ignorant or they should not be trusted. U.S. had thought so in Saddam's case and other cases around the world. Really. -
Israel has declared war on another country. Oh and Israel may be behind a false flag operation involving chemical weapons, as according to a former bush official: A former senior official in the Bush administration said on Thursday the use of chemical weapons in Syria might have been a "false flag operation" of Israel, meant to implicate Syrian President Bashar Assad. "We don’t know what the chain of custody is. This could’ve been an Israeli false flag operation, it could’ve been an opposition in Syria... or it could’ve been an actual use by Bashar Assad. But we certainly don’t know with the evidence we’ve been given. And what I’m hearing from the intelligence community is that that evidence is really flakey," retired Col. Lawrence Wilkerson Link

Google de facto recognizes the state of Palestine
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
There is no obligation by anyone to accept Israel as a "Jewish" State. The only obligation, as according to international law, is to accept Israel as a State. So your question is moot. Last chance to answer the question about the recognition of a Palestinian State. -
Google de facto recognizes the state of Palestine
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
Sure. You want to divert another question and not answer? That's fine. Israel has a right to exist within the border outlined by international law. If it wants to call itself a Jewish State, as long as it doesn't violate human rights laws, it doesn't make a difference to me. So, one more time: Just to be clear; What kind of a Palestinian State do you envision? A true, independent Palestinian State with control over its own borders, the air, the sea, security, etc, without the illegal separation wall cutting deep into its territory? Or the so-called State, the current ultra-right Zionist government has mumbled it would accept? -
Google de facto recognizes the state of Palestine
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
This is not about Google solving a problem. This is about a worldwide shift. Despite the heavy lobbying and influential powers by the extremist Zionists to continue to stall the process and to continue to steal more Palestinian land, the world is going ahead with the acceptance of a Palestinian State. The world will no longer wait for Israel to do the right thing. Because they have not. That's good. I'm glad to hear that. Just to be clear; What kind of a Palestinian State do you envision? A true, independent Palestinian State with control over its own borders, the air, the sea, security, etc, without the illegal separation wall cutting deep into its territory? Or the so-called State, the current ultra-right Zionist government has mumbled it would accept? -
Google de facto recognizes the state of Palestine
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
Google is one of the most influential companies in the world. Fight it all you want. The ball is in motion. A Palestinian State will be formed whether the Zionists back it up or not. -
Despite the great resistance by the ultra-nationalistic zionists, who have battled in every way possible to prevent the recognition of a real and legitimate Palestinian State, slowly but surely, things are changing. Google has now recognized the state of Palestine. Google is de facto recognizing a state of Palestine - at least on its local home page in the Palestinian territories. Google spokesman Nathan Tyler said Friday "We're changing the name 'Palestinian territories' to 'Palestine' across our products." He said Google consults with a number of sources and authorities when naming countries and is following the lead of several international organizations. The move comes after a UN decision last year upgrading the Palestinians' status to "non-member observer state." Link

Say now, "Rue", are you suggesting that Hamas is any worse than Likud and the rest of the ultra-nationalistic parties who will do everything in their power in order to continue the land theft and the systematic ethnic cleansing of Palestinians?

Sri LanKan says Baird is a Buffoon!
Hudson Jones replied to silver72's topic in The Rest of the World
I understand, you don't like the criticism. You like him because of his constant lip service to the Israeli lobby. Look at him pucker up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dbeRqz3jCE -
Sri LanKan says Baird is a Buffoon!
Hudson Jones replied to silver72's topic in The Rest of the World
Baird is a buffoon. It's easy to dislike him. Looking at the bright side, him and our foreign policy will be one of the reasons the Conservatives will have a difficult time staying in power after the next elections. -
Your response is not a reply to my comments. You're posting a reply just for the sake of showing that you have an answer, while all you are doing is trying to discredit the information I provide by blaming it on imaginary "anti-semitic professors". I am basing my comments on well-documented events. I find your approach to debating Israel's actions to be quite shallow and slimy. I repeat: - Who said I'm okay with anything Hamas does? Criticism of Israel's violations of human rights laws does not equate to supporting a wild accusation of something Hamas does. - Can you at least provide a link to back up your accusations like Hamas replacing teaching with gun and grenade throwing classes? - Why is there a need to lower Israel's standards by always comparing it to something that is obviously at a low standard? Not to say that your comments takes a pass, since no link or proof was posted, but it's like you try to excuse a rapist because he didn't kill the person. When Israel violates international law, they violate international law. There is no way around it. We should put pressure on our government who gives unconditional support to a country that continuously violates international law. You also tried to derail another comment I made by blowing more hot air, without really responding to the facts. Here it is again: The indiscriminate killing of civilians is illegal and this law is absolute. Transferring people into a territory that doesn't belong to you is illegal and this law is absolute. Keeping food and other necessities from a population as a way of punishment is illegal and this law is absolute.

Why can't they kill and destroy innocent people more nobly, like by using drones and airplanes? Assholes. And by "they", I am including every single Muslim in the world, from the 125 million in China, to the 74 million in Turkey. They also include 44 million in Europe, the 4 million in Canada and U.S., the 74 million in Iran, the 32 million in Morocco and every single Muslim in the world. This is Muslim terrorism.

Heh. The leader of one of the Zionist terrorist groups ended up becoming Israel's first prime minister.
-
Human rights laws came to be due to our moral standards. They are absolute as far as setting a standard as to what is right and what is wrong.
-
Human rights laws are absolute. We're all signatory to international law. It's your choice to have such contempt for border laws, maritime laws, trade laws, human rights laws, and etc. I prefer that my Canada shows respect for the law.

Explosions at the Boston Marathon
Hudson Jones replied to a topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Here is another deadly attack on civilians today that doesn't deserve our attention and outrage. US bomb kills 30 at Afghan wedding At least 30 members of an Afghan wedding party were killed and many more wounded when a U.S. plane bombed a village in the central province of Uruzgan today, Afghan officials and residents said. The bombing happened today in a village in the rugged, mountainous region 175 km (105 miles) northeast of the southern city of Kandahar, residents said. They told the local Pashtu service of the BBC at least 120 people had been either killed or wounded. A Defence Ministry official said celebrants were firing into the air, as is traditional in Pashtun weddings. "There was no-one to help last night," resident Abdul Saboor told the BBC. "We managed to transfer some of the wounded to Kandahar in the morning. Some of the foreigners' choppers also came to help. "There are no Taliban or al Qaeda or Arabs here. These people were all civilians, women and children." Link -
Friend or not, Canada should take a strong stance against violations of international law. Something that they had been doing before the Harper government came to power. Unfortunately, the Harper government has done some things that has lowered Canada's moral standards and its reputation of championing human rights. There is a reason why Canada did not get a security council seat. Canada's hopes of returning to the top body of the United Nations ended in crushing disappointment Tuesday when it withdrew from contention, handing victory to Portugal. The defeat marks a significant embarrassment for Stephen Harper's government. It is the first time in more than 50 years Canada has not won a campaign for a temporary seat on the Security Council. Recognizing Canada's official stance and international law is not anti-semitic. It's comments like that which have ruined the meaning of anti-semitism.

Despite Canada's stance on not recognizing Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem. Despite the decades that all western countries, including the United States, agreeing not to meet in East Jerusalem and despite the Canadian embassy diplomats' opposition to this action, Baird goes on to meet an Israeli official in the illegally occupied and annexed East Jerusalem.. A senior Israeli Foreign Ministry official said that Baird made both visits despite opposition from diplomats at Canada’s embassy in Tel Aviv. A nongovernmental Israeli source involved in Israeli-Canadian relations noted that Baird also violated the East Jerusalem taboo last time he was here, by visiting Jerusalem’s Old City with an official Israeli escort. “Baird recognizes the sensitivity, but he wants to set a precedent,” this source said. Canada’s current government is widely considered Israel’s best friend in the world today, and Baird is considered one of Israel’s greatest allies within this government. link

You mean Cameron was actually in favour of Thatcher's refusal to pressure the Apartheid government, but he was playing politics?\\

Baird breaks 46 years of Canadian and Western policy and decides to meet Israeli officials in the, internationally recognized, occupied East Jerusalem, further embarrassing Canada. Is Baird's action, the actions of a real diplomat? How far is this government willing to go in ruining Canada's image as a supporter of international law and human rights? When Foreign Minister John Baird crossed the Green Line this week to meet with Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni in the mostly Arab sector of east Jerusalem, he broke with 46 years of Canadian government and Western policy. But was it by accident or design? Under Canadian policy over East Jerusalem, the unilateral annexation by Israel is not recognized. “Since 1967, when Israel occupied the eastern parts of the city, it’s been our policy that Canadian officials not meet with Israeli officials in east Jerusalem,” said Michael Bell, a former Canadian ambassador to Israel and the Palestinian territories, as well as to Egypt and Jordan. “Our policy was part of a Western consensus,” he said. “The idea behind it was that such meetings would amount to de facto recognition of Israel’s claim to sovereignty over the area.” So why is the Harper government so eager to please the right wing, Zionist government of Israel? “My Prime Minister has praised Prime Minister [stephen] Harper and Foreign Minister [John] Baird on numerous occasions.” Everybody loves a poodle.
