It's because of change. Some people cannot handle change. The usual don't have a monopoly on crime any more, so suddenly, one act by the new people goes under the magnifying glass. Take one look at the report and it will show that Islamophobia is based on irrational way of thinking. It has no basis on facts.

95k jobs created in May - unemployment down to 7.1%
Hudson Jones replied to CPCFTW's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is true. If Canadians want jobs, we need to adapt by getting education in industries where there are and there will be shortage. A study I read found that Canada needs to let in at least 600,000 people a year, as opposed to 250,000, in order to keep up with the shortage of workers both high and low-skilled and to offset the low birthrate we have. The baby boomers are retiring and we're going to need fresh blood. -

They're mostly low-skilled or semi-skilled jobs. Half of the jobs are contract labour jobs in the construction industry. -
I agree with you. I am not against GM food. In fact, I think science is needed in order for us to tackle the problems we will have with food shortage in the near future. It's also difficult to compare the variety of GM products out there and it would be naive to say all GM foods are bad. What I question is Monsanto's agenda, which is to make money in any way possible. I have a hard time trusting a company and their word. A company who has already been caught falsifying data in their research. I have a hard time trusting a company who pays millions to politicians to fight on its behalf. I have a hard time trusting the FDA's approval of Monsanto products since, in the past 10 years alone, 7 high ranking FDA employees have had employment history with Monsanto. For example, Michael Taylor, who is the deputy commissioner of the Office of Foods and was also the deputy commissioner for Policy within the FDA in the mid ’90s, was employed by Monsanto as Vice President of Public Policy between the positions at FDA.

I really think the Harper government should take credit for all the low skilled, fast food jobs that MacDonald's is creating. -
We all knew this. Well, I guess not all, but most of us knew it. Now it's in the open. U.S. is tapping calls and mining data from Verizon, Google, Apple, Facebook and other American companies. Next time you write an email to your momma, don't forget to say hi to Obama or another clown that they put into the office. NSA collecting phone records of millions of Verizon customers daily US security agency has direct access to Google, Facebook and Apple user data

How much money has been spent by "Organic lobbyists"? Can you come up with some numbers here? I think it's okay for people to fear feeding some GM vegetables, which make the stomach of insects explode, to their children. Especially when these GM crops were created by a shady organization such as Monsanto, which uses its wealth to do things like: Pay politicians to support it. Buy-out research labs whose findings question their products. Pay millions to so-called scientists to lobby on its behalf. Not to mention that Monsanto has been caught red-handed, faking data. Why do you have a problem with being suspicious of a company with their track record?
-
Vandalism by these groups are different than faking data and research which Monsanto has been caught doing at least 2 times. But of course, you elect to use 'environmentalist' as the ones who would fake data and research, even though Monsanto has been caught doing this. Because it's the environmentalists who are not trustworthy, but Monsanto and their research and paid scientists and paid politicians are all dandy and trustworthy to you. Another problem with your comments is your need to paint a broad stroke like all environmentalists are the same and they all have the same agenda, tactics and approach. You are a mouthpiece for Monsanto because you repeat research done by Monsanto and you don't question their findings. Because you rather accuse 'environmentalists' to falsify data even though Monsanto has been caught falsifying data. Even though Monsanto has used their extreme wealth to do things like buy out research centres whose data has created problems for them. Carry on with your so-called independent and objective way of dealing with this.
-
Listen to you. How pathetic are your comments. "But I wouldn't put anything past environmental nutcases" You sound like a nutcase for suggesting that and being a mouthpiece for Monsanto. The same company that has actually been 'caught' by the United States government for falsifying data: On two occasions, the United States EPA has caught scientists deliberately falsifying test results at research laboratories hired by Monsanto to study glyphosate. Link You realize that Monsanto pays millions for people to be its mouthpiece by spreading happy thoughts about Monsanto and bashing 'environmental nutcases' while you're doing it all for free. So sad.

About the Islamophobia report: A rise in the number of hate crimes against Muslims in London is being encouraged by mainstream politicians and sections of the media, a study written by a former Scotland Yard counter-terrorism officer, published yesterday, says. Attacks ranging from death threats and murder to persistent low-level assaults, such as spitting and name-calling, are in part whipped up by extremists and sections of mainstream society, the study says. The document – from the University of Exeter's European Muslim research centre – was written by Dr Jonathan Githens-Mazer and former special branch detective Dr Robert Lambert. "The report provides prima facie and empirical evidence to demonstrate that assailants of Muslims are invariably motivated by a negative view of Muslims they have acquired from either mainstream or extremist nationalist reports or commentaries in the media," it says. You have a chance to learn a few things on here. It's your choice as to what you want to do with this information: Media and politicians 'fuel rise in hate crimes against Muslims' - Report blames 'Islamophobic, negative and unwarranted portrayals of Muslim London' for increase in attacks in the capital Link Here is a thorough research done by Dr. Jonathan Githens-Mazer and Dr. Robert Lambert MBE which clearly outline and show the rapid increase of anti-Muslim violence. Link

Instead of babbling, read the research done showing how your hyper-Islamophobia is creating a negative environment and is escalating violence. There are some stupid people out there and these stupid people think that their world is being taken over by Islam and this is why violence towards Muslims or those who look Muslim have gone up. Why? Because of your Islamophobia. Crimes are committed by many different types of people. If a Muslim or anyone else commits a crime, allow the law to handle it. The kids who intimidated the people in the videos were arrested and have received punishment. Here is a chance to learn: Media and politicians 'fuel rise in hate crimes against Muslims' - Report blames 'Islamophobic, negative and unwarranted portrayals of Muslim London' for increase in attacks in the capital Link Here is a thorough research done by Dr. Jonathan Githens-Mazer and Dr. Robert Lambert MBE which clearly outline and show the rapid increase of anti-Muslim violence. I never denied that there was violence by Muslims. Disclaimers are necessary because of people like you. There is more to the black and white, MUSLIMS ARE BAD BAD, picture that you, and the fellow whose article was posted. Take this disclaimer into consideration: Media and politicians 'fuel rise in hate crimes against Muslims' - Report blames 'Islamophobic, negative and unwarranted portrayals of Muslim London' for increase in attacks in the capital Link Here is a thorough research done by Dr. Jonathan Githens-Mazer and Dr. Robert Lambert MBE which clearly outline and show the rapid increase of anti-Muslim violence. Mass Palestinian grave found in Tel Aviv
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
Don't need to take my word for it. Take it from this Jewish man who was there. Take it from Jewish Israeli historians such as Benny Morris and Ilan Pappé. It's all documented. I don't know why you're trying to deny facts. You're starting to act like a holocaust denier: Learn a little bit about the Nakba: -
What are you babbling about? We were talking about the kids in the videos who were trying to intimidate people. I said that their verbal intimidation does not warrant the fear of not going to the neighbourhoods. As far as violence in London, of course there is violence. There is violence by Muslims, by non-Muslims on gays, straights, whites, non-whites and on and on.
-
I did. This is why you should look into your attention deficit disorder and reading comprehension. My comment was posted in the previous page: My comment about violence was about the kids who put out the video.

Mass Palestinian grave found in Tel Aviv
Hudson Jones replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
The Arabs living in what is now Israel were not the invading armies. They were civilians who were driven out and killed by the Israeli military and Jewish terrorist groups. Pushing the Arabs out was ethnic cleansing. There is ample evidence of this; A lot of the evidence comes from testimony from the Jews who were involved in this ethnic cleansing. Learn a little bit about the Nakba: -
You requested clarification on what I meant and I gave you one. I was talking about the Muslim Patrol using violence. I will spend my time here, but will not waste "too much" of my time in repeating my answers and correcting you. That would take all my time.
-
I was talking about violence by the so-called Muslim patrols who video'd themselves and who we've been talking about in the past few pages. Again, not to excuse their behaviour and it's great that they were arrested and charged, but what they did was bully and intimidate verbally.
-
American Woman. You need to make better attempts at reading my posts. I don't want to spend my time on here, repeating my responses and correcting you over and over. Oh and those crazy jihadist Muslims have TOTALLY cornered the hate crime market in London. --- This is just one of hundreds of examples of anti-gay attacks by non-Muslims: Ruby Thomas given seven years for homophobic attack on Ian Baynham - Ex-public schoolgirl screamed 'fucking faggots' and kicked the unconscious Baynham in fatal Trafalgar Square assault Link Media and politicians 'fuel rise in hate crimes against Muslims' - Report blames 'Islamophobic, negative and unwarranted portrayals of Muslim London' for increase in attacks in the capital Link Here is a thorough research done by Dr. Jonathan Githens-Mazer and Dr. Robert Lambert MBE which clearly outline and show the rapid increase of anti-Muslim violence. So you were wrong for saying that. I'm glad you acknowledge that I never said what they did was okay. Saying that fear of going into Muslim neighbourhoods because of these kids is irrational and unjustified does not equate to me saying what they did is okay. Try to stay rational. My comment about violence was about the kids who put out the video. Any idea about the rate of increase of violence towards Muslims in England?
-
What? When did I say what these kids did was "not" wrong? Why are you making things up?
-
"They are possibly..." Thanks for bringing in your assumptions. No one is arguing what they did is okay. What the facts say is that it's not a regular occurrence and the Muslim community have distanced themselves from this one group. All these irrational fears and you trying to justify them will only fan the flames of Islamophobia. You want to take up a real cause? Why not look at the violence and abuse on Muslims in England.
