I didn't make the claim there was no evidence. I'm just a white guy who's seen it in action. And heard about it from people affected. And read about it almost everywhere. And laughed at off colour jokes that sustain it. Want me to prove the sky isn't red while I'm at it? Which one of the two pigeon holes are you?

Drax (UK): "green" burning of Canada's old growth forests
herbie replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Oh we can make it perfectly sustainable like the Nordic nations. Nice forests of the same species, all in neat rows, spaced as to the turning radius of a feller-buncher. And we can pretend that because it doesn't grow back in three days like a mushroom, it doesn't grow back at all. And keep pretending that forest practices are the same as they were a generation ago. You know they didn't even have an inventory of how many, what kind, and where those trees were until Harcourt's NDP took office. And the Big Forest Companies carried on that even doing that was anti-logging and a waste of public money. Or that we've faced duties because those companies don't get to keep the denuded lands to sell to real estate developers like in the USA? -

Yes, all those campers in their 40 ft motor home towing a 28 ft boat told us just how awful it was under the NDP. Yet when we went to Alberta everyone there was working, the roads were all being redone, the motels and cafes were full and all our freinds were telling us to pack up and move there.... -
Everytime I post something seemingly absurd it's to point out how those that preach the Bible the loudest act the opposite of it's teachings and encourage others to believe that's what is actually written. And every time I turn on the lights, go to the doctor, ride the ferry or even post on this cruddy rural Internet, I thank the series of free enterprise gov'ts that weren't too chickenshit to implement policies that were better just because they might be socialist in origin.

If you don't sit down and fill it out with me, they'll just send a supervisor you don't know and they might give a shit we're sitting in your grow op... I actually said that to one guy. He laughed and handed me a beer while I asked the questions and filled it out for him.

When? Before he was campaigning in 2016 and mocked a handicapped reporter, one of the early proofs he was an ignorant boor unfit for office. Of course The Donald denied it at the time like he denied every lie, con and crime of his entire life. But of course he could easily fool someone who can't tell a cartoon meme from a photograph. All they need to do is convince themselves photographic evidence of real events are all fake news first.

Drax (UK): "green" burning of Canada's old growth forests

Oh Jeez give it up FFS! Nobody's gonna stop cutting trees, what the hell you gonna make your house out of? I live in BCs biggest forest District. My buddy's an ex-mill manager now consultant. Two close friends forestry consultants, another mapper. I lived with the CFO of a major mill, did my career connecting their computers, sites, radios. Flown about in choppers picking radio & tv sites, flew over, drove on those forest roads to hunt, fish, camp and snowmobile. If things grow back they are by definition sustainable. Just like your garden or a farm. You're just like a Trumpoid or anti-vaxxer, you don't know and you won't listen to anyone who does. It's one thing to be stupid, quite another to expend energy to remain ignorant. -
And nobody will, most can't even explain socialism itself. The ONE country in the entire world without public health care defines it as 'socialist healthcare' so it must be so, eh? CPP, EI, Mediacl, Workers Comp, Welfare are vaguely socialist so we better get rid of them.... You can spot the smooth brains by the irrelevant to the discussion songs and Bible quotes they compulsively post. Half of them can't define JOB FFS acting like it's a right that they get to decide. If your Boss says you need to wear a hard hat, take a piss test and get vaxxed for effing ebola then that's what you do if you want to keep it. Snivelling about socialists and Trudeau mandates is a whiney cop out as obviously your job is not the most important thing to you. Zero sympathies.

Amazing how only 51% support caused a resignation, but 53% (after 6 rounds!) is a victory. -

1. lie 2. lie Lay off the bullshit and learn something about subjects you wish to discuss. What SumYunGuy says at a rally is not fact. -

I really enjoyed the irony in that Marketplace piece where one of our Prince George MLAs was moaning how the logging affected his trap lines. Oh the environmental concerns of a fur trapper in 2022... wah wah wahh! -
Duhh... and those aren't social benefits in your book.
