  1. No one wants to play the virus game anymore but the virus doesn't give a shit. You won't get your normal life back again until a majority of people have been vaccinated. Rant all you want, it isn't going to happen.
  2. Yup and in a week they will be out and about again leading normal lives.
  3. And then there is New Zealand https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/zealands-auckland-starts-second-lockdown-224359651.html
  4. Why do you think posting here would accomplish anything? Do you think the government takes direction from this forum? BTW. Where did you get your medical degree?
  5. Well, you could wait another five or ten years until these companies do a few dozen more butt covering trials. Your choice.
  6. So what's your plan other than trusting professionals? Facebook? Sounds like you haven't learned anything to me.
  7. The medical data doesn't come from politicians. It comes from medical professionals and scientists who are learning more about this virus and the effectiveness of vaccines on a daily basis. Not learning a damn thing since last March isn't a strategy for success.
  8. The Astra Zeneca phase 3 trials indicated 62% effectiveness at preventing symptoms but has been better in real world use. Real world experience is showing it is 94% effective in preventing hospitalizations and 100% effective in preventing deaths including the B117 variant. The South African variant seems to be its Achilles heel but all of the vaccines have reduced effectiveness against that variant. It could turn out to be the most common vaccine world wide because it is inexpensive to produce and much easier to transport and store.
  9. It don’t see anyone defending Epstein or Prince Andrew, or saying they don’t exist. Trump was also a good buddy of Epstein’s.
  10. Ya, except the vast majority of those were infected before Biden took office.
  11. We don't know that it isn't either because observers can't get close to these camps. From UN Declaration on Genocide What this vote does do is send a clear message to China of the Canadian public's feelings toward China. The Chinese government has lost the battle for public opinion in Canada so it doesn't matter a toss what their ambassador says .
  12. Heard from where? Severe reactions have been very rare, some reaction is a good thing because it means your body is producing the antibodies that fight the virus. Getting no reaction at all to a vaccine isn't a particularly good thing. There will be consequences to not being immunized. One you can pretty much count on is not being able to travel to other countries.
  13. The vote was unanimous 266-0. Assuming all 184 opposition MP's voted for the motion, 82 Liberals also had to vote in favour.
  14. SCOTUS also allows prosecutors access to Trump's tax returns. Not a good 24 hrs for Trump.
  15. Couldn't be anyone here who fits that description.
  16. Ya, I'll take boring and competent any day.
  17. Not surprising with an electoral system where candidates rely on such massive amounts of money to get elected. Candidates can be easily bought.
  18. Costs for the quarantine hotels are much lower than $2000. The Toronto Alt and Airport Sheraton and Calgary Airport Marriott being used are charging between $300 and $400 a night including taxes, meals and security. When it comes to license fees, someone has to pay for the infrastructure and other services we use. Our passport fees are not out of line with other countries. More expensive than some, less than others. Australians pay $310 for a ten year passport. Not everything you have a right too is free.
  19. I used to work with some ex Argus guys. They used to say that if you wanted to find a sub, just look for the column of smoke from the destroyer it just torpedoed.
  20. There is no indication they were to be used in the Arctic. The first ship was supposed to go to the Pacific.
  21. Destroyers, frigates and corvettes. No subs. Probably not.
  22. Only in number of ships. We were a small ship navy. A couple of escort carriers and two heavy cruisers were our largest WW2 ships.
  23. We need actual combat ships that can operate in the Arctic more.
  24. Why? What use would we have for them?
  25. Not true. Canada designed and built all its own destroyers and frigates from the 50's to the present Halifax class.
