So this is the new conspiracy? I think Contrarian hit the nail on the head. -

I think they will be selective and do it when it is to their political advantage. They have been given a tool to be used at their discretion. -
Speaker of the House Debacle

Yes but every time it happens they will have to go through the same goat rope they just went through. McCarthy will have to be reconfirmed by the same dysfunctional bunch. Chaos hasn't been a concern of the Freedom Caucus or other MAGA'ts, they have just set a precedent. -
Speaker of the House Debacle

Now all it will take is one Democrat to stand up and file a motion to vacate the chair to throw a wrench into every piece of legislation. -
Bullshit yourself. They were trying to smash down doors and windows to gain access to the House and the people working there. Ya, people go to jail all the time in the US for shooting black people trying to break into places. https://repolitics.com/forums/topic/43060-risk-your-life-by-breaking-into-someones-home/ https://repolitics.com/forums/topic/43021-she-had-no-right-to-defend-her-miami-home/

You really do live under a rock. Do you seriously think the earth can support the 8 billion on this planet enjoying the same standard of living and consumption as the average North American? The oceans are warming which is affecting many species as well as weather and increasing sea levels. Oceans absorb 25% of the CO2 we omit and that is increasing their acidification which among other things is destroying the planet's coral reefs. Those reefs are the home of millions of species. Over fishing has decimated many fish species and affected other wild species which also depend on them as a food source. Pacific Salmon are the foundation of a whole ecosystem on the west coast. If they disappear because of warming oceans, habitat destruction and over fishing, that whole system would collapse.

China and India are also very large countries. The average Canadian emits 2.5 times as much as the average Chinese in spite of theme being so heavily industrialized and generating so much power with coal. It also gets damn cold in northern China. The average Canadian emits 9.7 times as much as the average Indian. Why do you think Canadians are entitled to such a disproportionate amount of the world's resources and emissions?
