  1. Back to reality, no prime minister would resign over this.
  2. Churchill had no illusions about Stalin, after all it was he who coined the phrase "Iron Curtain" Hitler was the greater threat at the time. Much of the post war accommodation was done at the Potsdam conference when Churchill was out of office and Roosevelt was dead.
  3. Russia had an agreement to base its fleet in Crimea which also belonged to Turkey at one point in history. The Russian government has more in common with acting like Nazis than Ukraine. The US is only one member of NATO and to prevent it expanding would have to veto every other members vote. There was never any deal hammered out between Russia and Ukraine. The only agreement reached was Ukraine would not apply to join NATO which Putin ignored and invaded anyway. https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/exclusive-war-began-putin-rejected-ukraine-peace-deal-recommended-by-his-aide-2022-09-14/
  4. As you say, people are being asked, not told. No one is taking your freedoms away. Wearing a mask does not prevent you from doing anything.
  5. Britain was standing alone at the time and had nearly been invaded. Finally they had someone else fighting Hitler.
  6. He lives in North Bay and was invited by the speaker.
  7. Zelenskyy didn't invite this guy. In this case I agree with with the Russian representative who said this was very sloppy work by whoever let it get happen.
  8. If Hunter goes to trail and is acquitted, that plea deal will look pretty good.
  9. Oh, give men a break. You guys have had the Bidens convicted for months. You don't know anything so are free to make up anything you want.
  10. If you look at Weiss's record, he has made his name prosecuting corruption cases, mostly Delaware Democrats. He has been investigating Hunter since 2019.
  11. Yes that's what 5 Eyes is all about, sharing intelligence. Obtuse what? https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-diplomat-intelligence-eyes-nations-helped-canada-link-103436884
  12. If you look at US states with and without capital punishment, in general there isn't much difference in homicide rates.
  13. Dishonesty is no way to start a relationship.
  14. I don't use legacy media therefore it never reports anything.
  15. The US ambassador has confirmed some of the evidence came from 5 eyes. I am far from convinced JT did the right thing by bringing it up in Parliament but I do believe there is some pretty convincing evidence. My question is how this evidence is going to be used without endangering future intelligence operations. Put the shoe on the other foot. If CSIS had evidence of a foreign country committing government sanctioned criminal acts on one of our 5 Eyes partners soil. 1. Should we tell them? Yes 2. Are we obligated to tell them? Yes. 3. Should CSIS make public their methods and sources and as a result, make them useless in future as well as possibly endangering the lives of some of their sources? No. This is spy stuff and no one is going to broadcast their sources or methods. https://www.indiatoday.in/world/story/us-provided-canada-intelligence-on-khalistani-terrorist-nijjars-killing-report-2439769-2023-09-24
  16. If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons. Winston Churchill
  17. Plenty of nastiness on both sides. Of the 91,000 Germans taken prisoner at Stalingrad, less than 6000 ever saw Germany again and it took them 10 years to get home. The Soviets executed 22,000 Polish officers and intelligentsia in the Katyn Forrest Massacre in 1940.
  18. Finns joined to get land back from Russia they lost during the Winter War. Many Ukrainians joined to get a nation independent from the designers of the Holodomor which starved to death almost 4 million Ukrainians during the 30's. Some committed war crimes and others did not. Still, not a good look inviting this guy.
  19. https://www.reuters.com/legal/who-is-david-weiss-us-prosecutor-hunter-biden-case-2023-06-20/
  20. The Finns fought the Soviets as well, for the same reasons. SS Division Wiking. Now they are our NATO allies.
  21. Good god, this is intelligence sharing, don’t you think it would be confidential? Do you blab what is told to you in confidence to the whole world? Releasing the source would at the very least, require the permission of that source. Who knows what assets of theirs could be compromised by making it public. You don’t take the word of the US ambassador just because you don’t feel like it?
  22. And here I thought the DOJ only prosecuted Republicans.
