  1. I didn't say they couldn't, I asked who will.
  2. No discussion required, the Republican controlled senate under McConnell is blatantly two faced. Anything he wants, who's going to stop him? You haven't offered anything to answer.
  3. I'm saying the those Senators were full of shit, they allowed Trump to appoint judges right up to his last day in power while telling Obama a year before an election the voters should decide. I'm not saying they are corrupt, just that they are more likely to see things Trump's way. I'm asking who is going to stop him. You can't seem to answer.
  4. According to the Republicans in 2014, appointing a justice a year before an election was not a normal process. If they actually believed that, they wouldn't have approved Trumps last two appointments. They did approve them because they wanted their people on the bench. Doing whatever he wants. Who is going to stop him, the Trump party members in Congress?
  5. He was filling openings right up to a month before he left office, even though the Republicans refused to accept a Obama nomination a year before an election on the basis it being too close to an election. I'll ask again. Who is going to stop him?
  6. Trump's father in law was convicted and served his sentence during the Bush 2 term. Hard for Trump to pardon him then.
  7. Speak for yourself. Sad that you think we aren't capable of fixing what is wrong with our own country and have to join the dysfunctional gong show that is going on to the south of us.
  8. There is no appetite in Canada to become a 51st state other than from MAGA wannabes. Trudeau is just a prime minister and we can get rid of him just like any other PM.
  9. Trump packed it in his last term. Trump can do whatever your system lets him do and who is going to stop him.
  10. And the threat from NAZI Germany was the reason Britain had to massively increase defence spending in the late thirties. Which one do you think we are?
  11. Like what, other than the SCOTUS that has already been compromised.
  12. My point is, this Congress won't stand up to him no matter what he does. Your checks and balances won't mean dick. Hope this is all hypothetical but I guess we'll see.
  13. Why rely on Congress when you have guns. The Korean parliament including his own party leader stood up to Yoon and made him back down. No one is expecting that from the Trump party.
  14. A bit disappointing but with Trump threatening to go after everyone and nominating Patel as FBI head. Understandable. Didn't Trump pardon his father in law?
  15. Direct democracy that requires a vote for every piece of legislation is not possible anywhere but in very small countries. It worked for awhile in ancient Athens but that was just a small city by today's standards. It would also would be incredibly expensive. Your country has enough trouble holding elections under your existing system. Your politicians spend more time fund raising and campaigning than they do legislating.
  16. Constitutional monarchies also have elected representatives that make laws.
  17. A republic just means you don't have a monarch. It isn't a system of government. Democratic systems and constitutions exist in both republics and monarchies.
  18. No it isn't, that's why we have constitutions, bill of rights and courts.
  19. The jerking off two guys at once dance.
  20. No one ignored Clinton, he was impeached for his behaviour. He hasn't been president for over 24 years.
  21. Tariffs are nothing but a massive tax grab. Governments take in billions in tariffs while consumers pay for them in increased prices.
