Say what you will about the Nazis but they did more than anyone in the 20th century to reduce the population of Europe. -

Well I just see money as a contrivance created to lubricate capitalism's destruction of the environment. Mere tokens compared to the wealth and beauty in Gaia. -

Oh I hear you. The extremist nut jobs on the left are just as dangerous and as big a roadblock to progress. ''All extremists should be shot'' as the popular oxymoron goes. -

Best to avoid all that nonsense then and try to create a less divisive society in the future. Come join me round the campfire for a drum circle and a rousing round of Kumbaya... -

Like I say. Priorities. I live on a farm in Suffolk, England and for the first time ever the farmer has had to leave a tractor with a harrow attached ready to go in case he needs to make a fire break in a hurry. The muck gulcher has been filled with water ready to use as a makeshift fire pump. The crops are stunted enough due to drought conditions without losing fields full of ripe wheat to fire. So to me ''the nasty man made me cover my face'' is barely registering and if the actions required to stop this catastrophe from becoming a mass extinction look too much like Communism to some then tough. It's not high on my personal list of priorities. -

You are right but it's not being required to wear a mask during a worldwide pandemic you should be worried about. It's having to wear one to go down town to protect you from the particulates coming out of millions of vehicle exhausts. There's not much point worrying about which is the best kind of boot to have on your neck when the world is on fire all around you. It's the same fear of admitting the truth that leads to denial but its not Communism or Fascism you need to be in fear of. So I think we agree on the fundamentals too but disagree about the priorities. -

You have to admire the Dutch. Led the world in ship building, navigation and trade. Showed the British how to take over the world. -
It was simply one lie too many in the end. He lied to the Queen, he lied to Parliament, he lied to the electorate. When he lied about his appointment of a known sex pest the party had just had enough. Should have happened after he unlawfully prorogued Parliament IMO but the Tories don't have that much integrity.
-
That's a gamble though. It might backfire by uniting the Conservatives. There are a lot of Tory MPs in traditional Labour seats who don't want an election now when the government is so low in the polls. Starmer has threatened to do it but I think he's bluffing.

He did alright though didn't he? Got to the top of the mass shooting charts. -

How does that compare with the Vegas shooter? -
The party was elected by the people and the party is still in charge. The only people who voted for Boris were his constituency. We don't have a President.

I can't tell if you're posting from Moscow or Tel Aviv but at least your name makes clear where you are talking from. -
Trudeau wants to ban handguns and toys?
Iceni warrior replied to Nationalist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Of course I'm not anti-car. I own one car and two 7.5 tonne trucks. I just accept that cars are dangerous and polluting which means they have to be highly regulated. I'm not anti-gun either. We have several on the farm and I've had air rifles since I was 10 years old. Guns are also dangerous and likewise should be highly regulated. How do you like them apples? -

Am I anti-car if I believe there should be restrictions on their use? -
Nice source Ivan.

Wait until they are told not to panic buy toilet rolls. Things gonna get crazy...

At least you'll be able to get a decent cup of tea while you do it.

Nice samovar.

Weird yellow light here all day. We've got a dust cloud from the Sahara blowing in, everything is covered with a thin layer of it. Might get a spectacular sunset tonight.

Evil Russian Empire invades defenseless Ukraine.

So what are the chances of Putin being obeyed if he ordered the use of theatre nuclear weapons? I'm guessing that they are not in the hands of conscripts. -

That's a pretty damning description of the state of Russian command structures and training. Air Supremacy is usually the first goal for invading forces and it doesn't appear to have been achieved yet after a week's fighting. Would you say that is mostly a result of Russian restraint, hoping for a quick surrender without too much loss of life, or Russia's inability due to a lack of logistics and inadequate training?
