Explain stick and ball sports to me
Iceni warrior replied to cannuck's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
An explanation of the greatest stick and ball sport for you. You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game. Hope that helps. -
It's Felton not Fenton but yeah, very good productions. I've been watching them for a while now. Mark covers a lot of subjects that no one else does and has a very regular output. Very British centric but not afraid to give credit where credit is due to the German war effort. Highly recommended for those interested in 20th century military history. Some very good shows about the Falklands conflict.

Yeah, I like that. I've just subscribed.

I work as a chef in a pub. We were actually busier when we were locked down and doing take aways only. We have only opened two days a week for food and are just losing money. Pre-covid Sunday lunch was 70-100 covers. During lockdown we were doing 45-50 take aways. Today we did 26 and only 10 of them ate in. The rush to open everything back up is pointless until confidence returns.

Most Europeans are obsessed with the US. They watch American films and TV. They listen to American music and eat American fast food. Doesn't strike me as hate, completely the opposite in fact. Far from multiculturalism or the EU taking over our culture as many opine it is in fact US culture which is the biggest threat to regional differences.

I had nothing to do with the decision but yes, my government changed its policy. This is why it is important to follow the politics and leadership in countries other than your own. Oh, and excercising your right to object to policies in foreign countries is also OK. Criticising China for their recent treatment of Hong Kong for example.
-
The American president has plenty of say on European matters. A good example is the recent pressure put on the UK government to change their policy on Chinese involvement in 5G infrastructure. The UK and other EU countries were threatened with trade restrictions if they didn't come into line with US policy.
-
For the same reason Americans feel the need to get involved in European politics I expect. The millions of words printed trying to re-define the Tommy Robinson (not his real name) case are a prime example. The migrant crisis of 2015 is another. The American president's backing of one side in the Brexit referendum is another.

I assumed you were refering to a mutual love of the works of A.A.Milne.

The Climate Change People are Lying to Us

Your argument seems to be that we can't accurately predict the future and therefore we shouldn't do anything to mitigate rising temperatures. That's a great cop out. Not very intellectually honest but a great cop out. -

Shhh, there's 5 matches left to play and Leeds are only 6 points above 3rd place. Plenty of time yet to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. -

OK, I see you are incapable of civil debate. Rather than report you to the mods I think I'll just put you on ignore and it'll be just like you never existed. Bye y'all.
-
That's twice you've called me a liar now. Is that your idea of civil debate? He clearly was running away and was shot in the back. Unless the police now have repeating tazers he was not a threat so there was no need to shoot him. More time needs to be spent training these officers and there needs to be a better recruitment process.
-
Ah, I don't have access to that here. I have seen footage of him being shot in the back while running away though.

What is CTV?

It also depends on the quality of the training the police receive. At the point this man was running from two police officers he was not a lethal threat to either of them.
