Anyone who actually bought that nonsense is a complete rube anyway. -
Advice for Federal Liberals: 22/10/2019

If you think the Liberals are going to lose, you're in for a rude awakening. Wishful thinking is a helluva drug. -

The United States authorities' inaction
Yzermandius19 replied to Bob Miller's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Preserving the second amendment is helping people. Infringing on the second amendment is not helping people. Clearly you misguidedly think there is some easy fix that could be easily enacted by politicians that will solve the problem. Action for the sake of action, even when counter-productive, is silly, and maligning inaction for not helping when action helps even less, is also silly. Wanting to help, and actually helping, are two completely different things, especially when it comes to guns. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. -
Useful idiot who doesn't realize his own tactics will be turned against him and you are going to lose when that happens. If your side wins temporarily, that's the biggest loss of all, because a Stalin type will liquidate useful idiots like yourself and kill more Commies and Socialists than any right wing extremist could ever dream of. Be careful what you wish for eyeball, you don't want to get the Koba treatment, bet that.

Something tells me that if Twitter mostly only censored left leaning individuals, while giving right leaning individuals a pass for the same behavior, you would not tell lefties complaining about it to get over it already.

Handguns and Assault Rifles

Indeed, blaming the inanimate object makes no sense. If some people who own Honda Civics start running over crowds of people, banning Honda Civics won't solve the problem. -

Why should she listen to CNN when they are trying to railroad her with ridiculously framed questions, while propping up her competition with soft balls? She shouldn't. Ignore them and hammer home the message you want to talk about, only dumb politicians go out of their way to answer questions that can't possibly be answered in a way that helps them. -

America under President Trump

Take it or leave it, I care not. I support my arguments with citations as I see fit, but if you need someone else to make your argument for you, you don't have a very good argument. People on forums like this either put too much stock in appeals to authority as the only arguments worth listening to, which is boring, or they dismiss your source out of hand because it doesn't line up with their confirmation bias, which is also boring. Citations are super overrated, they are often the crutch of people who parrot arguments of others and can't think for themselves. -

I did the research, I already know the answer, I just don't care enough to re-look it up right now, especially when you will just claim that more guns is the bigger factor, no matter what evidence is presented. -

You aren't happy that Gabbard didn't answer a stupid disingenuous gotcha question and torched Kamala? Odd. -

Also how does the correlation between mass shootings and stricter levels of gun control compare to mass shootings and gun ownership? Something tells me the correlation between gun ownership and mass shootings will pale in comparison to other much stronger correlations elsewhere. I wonder why global didn't look into that? Could it be they are trying to push an anti-gun narrative, probably has something to do with it. -

How does that correlation compare to the correlation between mass shootings and population density, less or more? -
The purpose or logic behind mass shootings.

Nosy Religious Busy Bodies all up in everybody's sh*t, never minding their own business while constantly virtue signaling and looking down their noses with a false sense of moral superiority. Revolting. -

Clearly it's Marilyn Manson's fault, they were big fans after all, and he wore similar looking coats, blame the devil's music! -

Blaming The Matrix for Columbine is even dumber than blaming PewDiePie for Christchurch. Hilariously stupid. -

Blaming The Matrix is pretty hilarious. Did they even see the movie? It had been out for only three weeks at the time of the shooting. -

Next they'll be blaming the music, Columbine was clearly Marilyn Manson's fault. betsy already blamed the trench coats, lulz. -

Yeah, he was the Eeyore of the DCF, this is true. Even still, I never let that shit drag me down, he was only dragging himself down, and in the meantime, there was some good arguments to be had. -

Unfortunate he never made the jump to the MHF, too many lefties bailed after DC shut down the DCF, wonder what he's up to these days. -
Handguns and Assault Rifles

Well played, using the fascist boogeyman to turn her against gun grabbing FTW. My parents have no love for union thugs with guns either or the military, I could use the threat of them seizing control of the government as a boogeyman to convince my parents that disarming the proletariat is misguided because it makes it easier for them to seize control. -

Yeah I should use that angle more often, they love that pitch too. They got a soft spot for the Indians, and despise Canada's attempts to keep them down. -
Handguns and Assault Rifles
Yzermandius19 replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
My parents grew up on the East Mountain, and my parents come at it from the Ignorant Suburbanite angle, they don't really see why anyone would need a gun, and they think if someone does need one, it's because they are voluntarily putting themselves in a dangerous situation. I try to point out that many of those who are pushing The Drug War often apply the same logic to drugs that they are applying to guns, and that angle seems to be effective in slowly reducing their confidence in the effectiveness of gun control by showing the parallels to the ineffectiveness of drug prohibition.
