The spending isn't the issue, it's what they are spending it on that is the real problem, economic growth is a better way to reduce the deficit than high taxes. America won't go broke for a long time, it can afford to double the debt without any real chance of going bankrupt. If Japan can be at 236% debt to GDP ratio and not be bankrupt, America can afford to go even higher and not be bankrupt, other nations can't get away with that, but America can. If Canada tried to do that, they'd be totally screwed.

How very fiscally conservative of you. Raising taxes can actually reduce revenue and raise the deficit, some taxes are already too high and cutting them would actually raise revenue. Cutting spending is the way to go, but not from the military.

The states can spend that money on infrastructure. No need for the federal government to step in and rack up the debt to no real benefit. On the other hand the federal government does need to step in when it comes to military spending. Infrastructure is a states issue, Military is a federal issue, spend accordingly.

Ask Japan about wasting taxpayer money on infrastructure like it's a panacea. That's like the main way they got in over 200% debt to GDP ratio after their debt bubble popped, they tried spending like drunken sailors on infrastructure to get out of it, and now they are mired in debt and low growth. If you're so worried about the debt, you shouldn't be pushing infrastructure spending and trashing military spending, that's completely backwards.

The hired gun did better than any social conservative ideologue could dream of. Cutting defense spending is silly, it's the one kind of government spending that actually boosts the economy. Federal infrastructure spending is a boondoggle.

Social conservatives are dragging the conservatives down and preventing them from winning elections by demanding ideological purity to a social conservative agenda. It was a smart move, it helped drive the left further to left and made them unelectable. Just win baby, all that matters is the SCOTUS, social conservatives have nothing to complain about, Trump gave them the win for decades, despite not being one himself, something no real social conservative would have accomplished because they wouldn't have gotten elected in the first place. If it wasn't for Trump, the Democrats would have a 6-3 SCOTUS majority, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Making the consequences more dire is not going to solve the drug problem. All you are doing is killing people for something that shouldn't even be illegal, and making the problem worse.

Most Canadians will come around once they realize what a failure Confederation is when the free money party ends. Canada is a fake country. Carving it up solves most of it's problems, we are weaker when forced together and imposing interests on places that don't share the same interests. Being separate countries will bring The Canada's together more than Confederation ever could, Confederation gets in the way and divides Canadians against each other. Canada is a de facto protectorate, denying reality will not make Canada a real country. If we are all stronger together, than by that logic one world government would make us the strongest, yet that would just set everyone at each other's throats even more than Confederation does, because people have different interests. Confederation serves no purpose, other than Keeping America Out, Keeping Quebec In and Keeping The Indians Down, it is an anchor around the neck of The Canada's. Let America In, Let Quebec Leave, and Let The Indians Up, I say. Confederation is nothing but Iron Curtain against freedom and liberty, a boondoggle that makes everything worse and prevents Canada from stepping it's game up. Everything of value in Canada is in spite of Confederation, not because of it.

We are seeking to improve it. Dissolving the shotgun marriage is improvement. Confederation will destabilize regardless of our position on the issue, or yours, we simply seek the best outcome in light of that inevitability, while you misguidedly believe Humpty Dumpty can and should be put back together again. All votes do have the same power, the power to help decide who wins their own riding. What you want is for Quebec and Ontario to have more power and rural Canada to have less, what you want is for urban party cronies to represent rural ridings, that's what PR does, gives more power to votes in the big cities in Ontario and Quebec at the expense of the rest of Canada, giving more power to votes in big cities and less power to votes everywhere else. You want the votes of people living in a very small portion of Canada's geography even more power than they already have over the rest.
