  1. But I want the healthy middle ground between Neil and Chris. In the end Neil's own philosophy caused him not to trust Eady when he needed to most, while Chris's philosophy caused him to trust Charlene when he needed to most. Got to watch out for that fatal flaw.
  2. Yeah, True, if you just don't go after Waingro, that's the way to go, at least for you and your wife. I'd rather just be Chris with Neil's smarts and discipline though. Some attachments are worth it, just got make sure you pick Eady over Waingro in the end, Neil simply made the wrong choice.
  3. But look what happened to Neil, I would have rather been Chris, personally, though I get the appeal of Neil's philosophy. If he just trusted Eady, he could have gotten in the car and drove away, instead he thought she ratted him out, so bailed and ended up getting killed by Vincent. Killed by his own code.
  4. Fair enough, just saying your other reasons are way better than your "ultimate reason".
  5. Even so, the sky is falling so don't have kids, very silly. Your other reasoning regarding not having kids is vastly superior to this reason.
  6. Well of all the reasons not to have kids, bad things might happen to them is a fairly silly one. The sky is falling so don't have kids, very SIFCLF.
  7. Testing isn't draconian, shutting down the economy is. South Korea was less heavy handed than China or Italy, and that is why their model is being ignored by the panic monkeys who think the more government panic in shutting down the economy, the more things are under control. They think hurting the economy is the best way to battle the coronavirus, because the media are knee-jerk nanny state fools who think times are more desperate than they really are, and are therefore only willing to think that desperate measures are the only effective ones, because they are in a panic and are unable to think straight. They think suggesting more effective measures simply means you want everyone to die, otherwise you'd support their draconian proposals that are counter-productive. That way they can easily dismiss any disagreement with their position as only people with bad intentions hold those views and everyone with good intentions agrees with us, so no need to pay those who disagree any mind other than to get angry at them and act like a sanctimonious twat.
  8. Because Italy got more draconian in it's crackdowns, and the press prefers to live in world where they think more government intervention makes everything better. It makes them feel safer, even when the opposite is true. South Korea didn't panic and shut everything down, so the people who do want to panic and shut everything down out of ignorance ignore that example that flies in the face of their overreaction, and want the China-Italy model instead.
  9. You have good intentions, but your solutions simply make things worse, and result in the worst of both worlds double whammy style, while making you feel like you are helping, even though you are actually doing the opposite. Having good intentions doesn't mean you know how to implement good solutions.
  10. That's going to happen anyway, so it's simply kicking the can down the road, and crashing the economy at the same time.
  11. Yeah but the American housing market caused the crash in 2008, not so this time around. That's one of the reasons it took so long to bounce back last time, though I suppose the damage done in the wake of this crash could weaken the American economy's ability to bounce back, which could stretch things out, but I'm not buying that is going to last great depression lengths of time, unless a FDR 2.0 takes the reigns to really stretch the depression out.
  12. You buying into China's numbers just shows how guillible you really are. China is going to get hit with a second wave, and none of their draconian precautions are going to prevent it, all they did was destroy their economy to slow down the inevitable. If you think the Chinese model is the way to go, then you're a commie stooge. Mass quarantines of everyone do not create herd immunity, China is still majorly vulnerable to the Coronavirus and slowing it down just increases the length of time they are vulnerable for. You want to believe that if government just acts quickly enough with super draconian measures, then everything is going to be okay, and if they don't, then the sky is going to fall. But that is simply you giving way too much credit to government intervention in stopping Coronavirus.
  13. People staying home and slowing the outbreak is what is killing the economy. Social distancing is not good for the economy, quite the opposite.
  14. So just wreck the economy because you assume it will work even though it won't? Great plan.
  15. Indeed, but it's very promising. Pretending like it isn't just because Trump says it is, is Trump Derangement Syndrome.
  16. Flattening the curve doesn't solve the problem, it simply delays the inevitable and buys more time for the virus to mutate. The hope is not that premature, they've known this anti-malarial drug has been effective on coronavirus since 2005. In one of the trails on Covid-19, literally everyone given the drug recovered with zero deaths.
  17. Social distancing just slows it down, it doesn't make it go away.
  18. I'd very critical of any plan that assumes a quarantine is going to kill the virus in a few weeks, talk about wishful thinking.
  19. You're such a cry baby. No one threatened you, they just told that if you got the stupid heavy handed government machine you wanted put in place by the Canadian government, you'd be the first victim of it, so be careful what you wish for you counter-productive SIFCLF. People are simply pointing out, that your idiotic suggestions for improving things actually make things worse for everyone, including yourself. You are just too blinded by panic to understand how counter-productive your foolish suggestions are.
  20. That will not make the virus go away.
  21. Anyway, Coronavirus panic and Overpopulation panic comes from the same SIFCLF impulse. When someone thinks the sky is falling, usually their ability to think rationally is heavily diminished, and their proposed solution(s) are completely ridiculous and terribly detrimental. You are a great example of this phenomenon, PC. Panicking does not lead to sound thinking or rational responses, hence why SIFCLF's rarely respond in such a fashion.
  22. That's just how stupidity works. Creativity is what you tell yourself so you feel smarter than you really are. Imagination is great and all, but if that's all you got, and every time reality gets in the way of your imagination you simply ignore reality, you are going to hurt people with your proposed policies in that scenario. Treating the world as you wish it was, in direct contravention with the way it actually is, doesn't help anyone, it just makes you feel better about yourself for no good reason. Imagination plus an actual grip on reality > Imagination with no grip on reality, so try aiming for the former and not the later.
