Should we bring back the death penalty?
QuebecOverCanada replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well you know, the State allows killing. We have an army, and it's not just for sending trucks of sand bags to flooded areas of Ontario and Québec. -
Should we bring back the death penalty?

You're appealing to my French heritage, I think the French Canadians would proudly accept this, and make them Federalists instead of Separatists. -
Should we bring back the death penalty?

I'd say yes, but it has to be clear 100% that the condemned has done its odious crimes. Also, it should come back in times of wars, which never happens since we're very lucky to live in Canada. But terrorists, child molesters, human traffickers, murderers of children, should be killed. I have a simple solution so that no one is offended, is that we shoot the person in the head with a gun without any cameras or witnesses. It has to be a big caliber, so I suggest we use this in a confined room made of multiple layers of reinforced concrete. Of course, at the funerals, casket down. Beggars can't be choosers. (please take this post not to the first degree) -

I read the comments in Hebrew, and all of them say that the person shooting is the embodiment of the Devil, and it highlights how the occupation is harsh and inhumane in many parts of Israel. Israelis are not blood thirsty, they have the means to destroy every country bordering Israel in a very few weeks. They don't act upon it. It wouldn't be that way if the other side had the reverse power structure, meaning Israel be the lesser country in the region. I empathize greatly with the plight of Palestinians though.

Is fast fashion killing the planet and our ethics?
QuebecOverCanada replied to thedecider's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
It's less and less like that. Many in my generation (23 and under) are not flashy, trendy kinds but rather simplistic. Remember how in the 2000s everyone had to have a visible brand on their shirts? It's gone. Many are just wearing white/black shirts with jeans/black skinnies. Some are flashing with their shoes, but it's getting rarer too, it's mostly the poor and ethnic minorities who flash their Jordans than anything else. -
Absolutely we should get rid of any financing of the CBC or any other media by the State. It has to be done quick and the CBC has to be investigated for unofficial electoral spending for the Liberals.

Should Don Cherry Have Been Fired?

That's not what he said, you're just flat out lying to everyone and think everyone around you don't know you're fooling them. -

I find it disgusting he was fired for saying something a majority of people think. -
The road to 2020

This is a dumb question. It's like a Republican asking whether Democrats would support Obama despite him committing a totally hypothetical crime. -

FDR was further left than Sanders and won decisively. USA never has been a totally capitalist country. -

Never, ever underestimate an opponent. Sanders would be a fierce one. I mean it, without any sarcasm. You're way too confident. All the propaganda machine, if he won the primaries, would be backing him 100%. It would be USSR like, something you have never seen before, even worse than Obama 2008. Sanders also has grass root support, which Biden has none of. Sanders would get many protest vote in the Rust Belt, he is very much liked in the North-Eastern part of the USA. He's loved by many, many Democrats across Swing States. He's also for open borders and green cards for nothing, which will grant him support from a lot of corporations who want cheap slaves to keep their business going. He's going to get Super Pacs you can't imagine. Universities, colleges, will support Sanders 1000%, that's not even a question. -

Trump has lost some support since he took the White House in 2016. He was elected because his opponent did not connect with the electorate in areas of economic and social collapses, located in the Rust Belt. Republicans have not done well governing those States. Kentucky, whose Governor was backed by Trump, was incredibly unpopular, ineffective and a downright moron. He lost his riding despite Trump coming to the State a week before to endorse him. In Michigan, which was a very thin line between winning and losing, I don't think the State will again vote for Trump. Nor do I think Pennsylvania will stay Red. It all comes to a combination of factors: 1- ineffective GOP elected officials, 2- slowdown of the economy that may start next year, 3- Participation. If the Democrats go out in droves to vote for their candidate, the Democrats will definitely win. -
In Gatineau, Québec, many Muslim parents tried to find a breach in the system so their children remains into the grips of their religious zeal, and made complaints claiming that their children would be traumatized and damaged by Sexual Education classes and claimed religious freedom over their children education and future well being. Being in Canada, the Muslim parents won and about 200 Muslim Children in Gatineau will be exempt of any sexual education. Those who need these classes the most are the ones who won't receive them. It's very bad for these children and very bad for their parents too, as they are seen as what they are; zealots.
