I have many Muslim coworkers at work. Many don't wear their veils. They are Muslims, whether your interpretation of the Sharia or not says otherwise, ok?

It would be a good thing for Canada in my opinion, but it would not be able to pass in some Provinces as there are concentrations of people that think that their religious beliefs may infringe on other people's rights to have a neutral government when it comes to religion, because these people want their religion to be the State's religion, and they adamantly believe it is their right to push their proselytism, and is even one of their religious duties in their opinion.

Across the board, meaning across Canada?

Excellent news! The judgement made was tremendous. And the arguments presented by the judges to confirm the legality of the law were very witty. They basically said that wearing religious symbols was not mandatory for being part of a religious group. For instance, many Muslims don't wear veils. Many Jews don't were their kippahs, and they still are part of their religious groups. Same with many Christians not wearing a little cross around their necks. And not wearing those symbols for the time these practitioners are at work representing government does not make it so they are not part of their religion.

NHL General Thread

It's crazy that the Devils are doing so bad with so much talent in their ranks. -
The Trudeau Reelection Effect? The Liberal Provinces are affected the most. Québec lost 45 000 alone last month. Canada loses 71,200 jobs as a whole this November. The losses were equally part and full time jobs. Economists bet on a stagnation, and even a 10,000 jobs creation, but they were way off. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/stats-can-jobs-report-nov-1.5386624

First of all, thank you for acting in good faith and not deflecting from the subject, and I say that unironically. And the scandal is that it comes from this region more than others, and that the articles say that it was lead by the initiative of a Muslim parent, and that it was followed by other fellow Mosque-goers in Gatineau area, just next door to Ottawa.

Canada doesn't need this many Ministries

This is not discussed at all in the public debate. But in Canada, we have way too many Ministries, which in turn creates a really fat government with a lot of Ministers, who cost a lot of money in turn, plus their teams and executives that drives the cost of government through the roof. I'll list the stupidest Ministries first, then I'll list those who are basically useless since another Ministry should already cover their field. List of the most stupid ministries; Ministry of Seniors, Ministry for La Francophonie, Ministry for Canada Post Corporation, Ministry for Canadian Dairy Commission, Ministry of Status of Women, Ministry of Canadian Heritage. Each one of those should not have to exist, and/or to have a Ministry to regulate those. I'm sorry Frenchies (I am French from Québec), but a Ministry just for the French Language is incredibly stupid. A Ministry for old people (Seniors)? A Ministry for Canada Post? A Ministry for the Dairy lobby? Those ministries are totally unjustifiable, a waste of money, and sheer indirect corruption. Next for me are the 'double Ministries' which are petty to say the least. Very petty. They sometimes are even a triple ministry. Demonstration here; Ministry of Science ===== Ministry of Science AND Sports ===== Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Ministry of intergovernmental Affairs and Youths ===== Ministry of intergovernmental Affairs, Northern Affairs and International Trade Ministry of Canadian Heritage ==== Ministry of Culture (Ministry of Culture does not exist, my bad) Ministry of International Trade ===== Ministry of International Trade Diversification Ministry of Small Business and Export promotion ===== Ministry of Small Business and Tourism Does anyone agree we have some serious fat to cut with a chainsaw? It's not even a surgery with a scalpel that we need. It's a straight up psycho from Texas that we need to cut the fat. Discuss, and correct me.

Conservatives sometimes suck because many are too strict and religious and have no open mindedness, just like their counterparts on the Left who they sometimes call snowflakes. Just a benign example, ask a Conservative if he wants to smoke weed after work, and he's going to say no, with disdain and will probably say something like 'I don't do drugs and I didn't know you were that type of person', starting a tirade about how weed is bad, or trying to flee away from you and your group afterward. Very closeted, very shy personalities are inclined to be on this political spectrum, and Conservatives in general lack people skills and don't have much fun. Also, a bunch of Conservatives who are on the Right Side of the Conservative spectrum align with many socially restrictive ideas, that are anti freedom, while advocating they are the advocates for freedom.

Should we bring back the death penalty?
QuebecOverCanada replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I agree with you. Practically, it's not possible. But morally, I don't think it's bad to kill someone in certain circumstances. Very rare ones. -

Like in the Islamic State? No, we're past that. -

To cage someone in a cell with no future, no goal, no vision is actually worse than dying imo.
