  1. This article describes how the Khalistan movement has been a militant, violent organization In India. It has a history of violent confrontation with the India security service and many lives have been lost. Yet this photo shows Trudeau seems to support this organization. How can this be possible in Canada which has designated some organizations as terrorists? Why India fears the Khalistan movement and how Canada became embroiled in diplomatic spat over killing of Sikh separatist (theconversation.com)
  2. You miss the point entirely. The whole purpose of Sikhs carrying kirpans is to demonstrate just how militant and intimidating they are about Sikhism. People do not carry jack knives or pocket knives for that kind of reason. The kirpan is carried in a case on a sling for the purpose of sending a violent message.
  3. The Khalistan movement should be designated as a terrorist organization and outlawed in Canada. Since the Proud Boys and other organizations that have not been involved in any terrorism ( not in any significant way) have been designated as such, the government needs to look at the history of the Khalistan movement in India and the violent conflicts that happened, including the Air India bombing and loss of 329 lives in 1985. What is deemed to be a terrorist organization should not be done by politics but actual terrorist acts in the past. The Liberals and NDP have lost any credibility on this subject. Why India fears the Khalistan movement and how Canada became embroiled in diplomatic spat over killing of Sikh separatist (theconversation.com)
  4. Good question. Why are Sikhs allowed to wear "ceremonial kirpans" in Canada? The supreme court ruled unanimously that a kid in school in Quebec could wear his kirpan to school as part of "religious freedom." That is how bizarre this country is. The kirpan is not a harmless ceremonial "religious" symbol. It is a symbol of violence. The kirpan is meant to send a message and intimidate any opponents. Do you think the authorities and courts in Canada would allow anyone of any other religion to wear a kirpan into schools, stores, and among the general public? I think not.
  5. Sorry to have to tell you, but you have absolutely no argument or facts. Just making silly statements and throwing insults proves nothing. It is the mark of a child throwing sand in a sandbox. Fossil fuels are the mainstay of the whole world and are used not only as an energy source for millions of vehicles, trains, planes, ships, etc., but for the manufacture of many things that we take for granted including food production. There is no evidence or possibility that fossil fuels will be disappearing anytime soon. The whole net zero crusade by the liberals and left is nothing but hot air and baloney, political posturing for votes from the gullible masses. The liberals and left now depend on the climate change alarmism for their political survival. Sunak in the UK is starting to realize that the banning of gas vehicles and other things by 2030 is a pipe dream and is trying to move away from it. This is how it goes. Liberals and left and even a lot of conservatives make ridiculous promises to appease the voters and then when reality sets in, they start eating their words and try to back off the green agenda. Nobody can change the world just because they think fossil fuels are bad. If there is no realistic alternative, it is not possible. A politician is not a miracle worker and cannot create a new world out of nothing. Wishful thinking will not bring about a world without fossil fuels.
  6. Sounds like you have figured it out and have a good setup. I'm not planning to change anything here as I have serious health issues and am older anyway. I don't want to get into the upheaval of major changes here. What we have works good and we don't have many power outages in this area. But thanks for the information about it. I kind of like the electric baseboard heaters because they keep the temperature within about 1/2 or 1 degree of whatever I set it to and there is no forced air blowing around. Maybe it is a bit more expensive that a different heating system. I don't know. Yes I do like fossil fuels. Because fossil fuels are the best source of energy for many things. Nothing wrong with liking fossil fuels unless you are talking to Trudeau, Guilbeault, or Greta.
  7. No, that's not correct. You are the one that brought up the silly argument that I was denying advancement that made sense. Then accusing me of lacking intelligence. You've really been on here too much and losing your marbles. Maybe you should read the Bible and believe it. Ask God for intelligence and wisdom. I am sure he would give it to you.
  8. That's a silly argument. Of course mankind moved from wood and coal to oil, natural gas because they are much easier and cleaner to use than wood and coal. Of course it's not complicated. I am comfortable with gas motor vehicles, ships, and aircraft. There is no nuclear energy that is going to replace the millions of cars, ships, trains, and planes etc. in the foreseeable future. I don't swallow the Greta gang's demands that we abandon the fossil fuels and find something else. There is nothing else viable for most of the planet for the foreseeable future. We will be using oil and gas for generations in spite of what Trudeau, Guilbeault, and Greta Thunberg say.
  9. Apparently in some people's minds on here, parents have no role whatsoever except to provide room and board. According to them there is to be no parental guidance, no teaching on right and wrong, etc., no discipline for bad behavior, but children and young people are to be completely free to do whatever they wish. A complete free-for-all.
  10. Oh, that is interesting. What are parents for then or do you believe there is such a thing as the traditional family? Is there no requirement for parents to teach their children the difference between right and wrong and guide them as they grow?
  11. Christian parents should be raising their kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord as the Bible says. Problem is most people are not Christians so many kids grow up wild. With no moral compass, people are reaping what they sow, a decadent society. A real tragedy. When you have a decadent government and school system that promotes immorality, that makes everything so much worse. All the immorality is taught in schools as sexual orientation and gender identity under the claim it is anti bullying and being loving and accepting of everyone. Apparently it is not possible for young people to be civilized, loving, and accepting without teaching them sexual orientation and gender identity as if it is all normal and teaching them that kids have a choice as to what gender they want to be or what sexual orientation they want to be.
  12. I like fossil fuels and think they have brought a fair amount of good life to billions of people on earth. Natural gas is a valuable natural resource and fairly clean too. I think Canada has lots of it in the earth. Northern Canada has a huge supply of gas underground that hasn't even been tapped yet. We need to resist the enviro wackos who want to destroy the oil and gas industry. If they want to try to live off solar and wind, they can go for it. But they should stop trying to wreck everyone else's life and stop telling us what to do. Canadians standard of living has been going down steadily under the Liberals with their carbon tax and anti-energy industry regulations. This is driving up the price of living and making life more costly for everyone except the elite who are not effected by it.
  13. I have electric baseboard heaters. It is a small house of two bedrooms and a small utility room. There are no ducts. The heating or electricity bill in the winter is expensive, at around $300 per month or more. That includes all lighting, heat, stove, fridge, washer and dryer. I am not sure changing to a heat pump would save money. There is just a crawl space and ducts would have to be installed to every room. But if a heat pump provides air conditioning in the summer that would be a good thing. I am not sure about solar panels, batteries and an electrical system to accommodate all that. Would be a big job. You sound like you have a huge propane tank... 350 lbs. Never knew they had such things. Must have cost a lot for the 12 KW generator, etc. I guess I am paying around $2500 or $3000 per year for electricity, including heat. Would have to find the hydro bills and add them up. Getting older now so may not be worth the hassle trying to change everything.
  14. I guess you don't heat your home with electricity. My home is heated by electric baseboard heaters. I don't know what their wattage is but assuming they are 2,000 watts each, that would mean about 8,000 watts running intermittently. One solar panel produces 250 to 400 watts. I would need a vast array of solar panels that size to heat the home and there would be no power at night unless you had a vast bank of batteries. I doubt batteries could provide even 5000 watts of power to run electric heaters. The roof would not be large enough to hold all the panels. Also, in a home that is totally dependent on electricity from the electric company, when the electricity goes off during a storm for example, the home would have no heating or cooking facilities. Totally dependent on hydro power. I assume you have a natural gas furnace, which is a good thing and quite an efficient form of energy. Nanaimo has banned natural gas on all new homes. Crazy. Now every new home will require electric baseboard heating or an electric furnace. It will make absolutely no difference to climate change. That is what happens when you have woke, radical people elected to town councils.
  15. Yes, even politicians of major cities are gullible and have swallowed the climate change alarmism lie. The U.N. globalists are shouting with glee.
  16. Seems like Canada, particularly Parliament and the Canadian government is being drawn into a dispute in India between Sikh separatists and the country of India. While I condemn the assassination of a Sikh leader in Canada, I don't know all the facts about what is going on. As a Canadian I kind of resent being drawn into a struggle between Sikhs and non-Sikhs in India. Yet Trudeau got up on his stage and proclaims the right of Sikh separatists to speak their "truth" and promote it in Canada. They are in fact promoting civil unrest in India and Trudeau defends that. I believe when these people immigrate to Canada, they should leave their beliefs about such things behind them. They should not be demonstrating in Canada for a separate state of Khalistan and holding referendums in Canada. Now Canada has been drawn into this mess. We have also seen violent confrontations lately in Canada between another group of immigrants from a different country. We also now have serious foreign interference in Canada because of our immigration policies and deep foreign relations involvement with Communist China. The CCP does not think the same ways as western people and governments. They believe in authoritarianism and oppose human rights and are working on domination or hegemony over western countries. Liberals and left have adopted the immigration policy of bringing in vast numbers of immigrants from these third world countries. The government does not discriminate on who they bring into Canada. This results in all kinds of unsavoury characters being in this country. These people are bringing their disputes and ideologies with them. This is leading to serious trouble for Canada.
  17. Quite true. A battle between God and the Devil and his minions. Of course the Devil doesn't have much power but he still exists along with his evil spirits (Demons). He appears to have the power to deceive which leads to lots of trouble. Deception is his weapon. Only believers can resist this power if they are spiritual and not prisoners of this world system and they believe and follow the word of God, which in English is the King James Bible (1611). One must be set free by being born again by faith in Jesus Christ. Otherwise, one is still just a pawn of the Devil. Being born again means becoming a child of God by faith in Jesus Christ. Many are not and so they are manipulated and used. Some Christians even are being used by Satan because of their ignorance of God's word. They have succumbed to false ideology and teachings and unwittingly are serving the Devil more than God. This is happening in many churches today to varying degrees. For example, there are church leaders who actually believe in the LGBTQ and trans ideology and same-sex marriage. The also believe in MAID, medical assistance in dying, on the basis of the false idea that MAID is love if a person is suffering. Humans are not pets or animals and do not fall under that reasoning. We were created by God in His image and He owns our bodies. We have no right to play God and take human life except in very special circumstances. Pity or what we believe is love is not one of the circumstances.
  18. It's not a scientific fact that man is the cause of it. It could be caused by radiation from the sun or from space which varies over time. You are assuming man is the cause. It has never been proven. That is not science.
  19. I don't like to see my fellow man, grown children, grandchildren, and great grand children have to go through this phony war on climate change which is costing everyone a lot. But all the catastrophes, natural disasters like the flood in Libya, earthquake in Morroco, hurricanes, war in Ukraine, and endless troubles some say point to mankind being in the end times before Christ returns. Jesus Christ may be returning soon. I intend to study that aspect more. All I can say is people should be ready. That's the message. All these natural disasters, etc. mean tough times for a lot of people. Who knows what will happen with China, Russia, N. Korea, Iran, etc. Some of them unpredictable. I think the North Korean leader is unpredictable. He may have made a deal with Putin which might make him bolder yet.
  20. So if those things are happening because of climate change, what has been the point of carbon taxes in B.C. the last 15 years? Since it has done nothing for the climate, wouldn't it be better to stop the carbon tax scam?
  21. This is nonsense. Many Canadians have major concerns about such things as the phony climate change agenda, the carbon tax attack on Canadians, and the endless divisiveness caused by Trudeau. Then there is the U.N.'s attempts to control the world and form a one-world-government. These are not conspiracies. They are facts. To complain about the insane government policies that have caused outrageous costs of homes, high costs of food, and other things is not hyperbole or hysteria. Teaching little kids perversion in schools is a reality. It is plain facts.
  22. "If the Bible proves itself as divine, then why do most people still not believe it? The problem arises from the condition that Jesus explained in John 7:17, only the person who desires to do God’s will can see that the teaching of Christ is from God. The foundational problem is that sinful humans do not want to do God’s will because they are blinded by the darkness of sin and the devil (2 Cor 4:4). Therefore, they cannot see the self-authenticating glory of the Scriptures. The person who has their will set on doing what is evil will not submit to God’s authority, since they think of it as foolishness (Rom 8:7). They love the darkness, instead of turning to the light of the Word, which would expose their evil deeds (John 3:19-20)." How Can We Know That the Bible is from God? (tms.edu)
  23. Jesus saves. " 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. {again: or, from above} 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. " John 3:4-8 KJV " 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. {reproved: or, discovered} 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. " John 3:16-21 KJV
  24. Trudeau and his government are planning to meet with the major food chain representatives next week and pressure them to reduce or hold prices with the threat of taxes or other actions. This completely ignores that the food prices are determined by many factor in the supply chain such as the farmers, wholesalers, transportation companies, etc. It is not as simple as the Liberals seem to be trying to make it out to be. I am concerned that their meddling with the major retail chains could trigger serious damage to the whole food supply system. " If the five largest grocery chains — Loblaw, Metro, Empire, Walmart and Costco — don’t come up with a plan to get prices under control by Thanksgiving, the government “will take further action,” Trudeau threatened. “We are not ruling anything out, including tax measures.” It is notable that these threats are not being levied at businesses further down the supply chain, such as truck drivers, food processors and farmers, all of which are experiencing higher costs of doing business, and in turn passing those costs on down the line. The grocery stores are obviously the most visible. Singling them out as the cause of inflation is performative in the typical Liberal way." Carson Jerema: Here come the Trudeau food shortages (msn.com) Liberals have cozied with the Socialist NDP which of course are all in favour of controlling big companies. This may be affecting their thinking. Yet it is government policies, taxation, carbon taxes, etc. that have helped drive the price of food up. They are starting to think like Communists within a Capitalist system. Government cannot mix Communism or state control of food prices within a Capitalist system without dangerous consequences that are presently unforeseen such as food shortages on the shelves. Major grocery chains hold a lot of power and may not take kindly to government intervention in how they run their business which is very complicated and involves many other companies within the supply chain. I think we should be very concerned when politicians start serious meddling with the Capitalist system that brought the west its prosperity to begin with. We could end up like Cuba with serious shortages of all kinds of things.
  25. I don't have much faith in municipal and regional district governments. They can't even seem to manage the recycling facility properly. I went to the recycling depot on a Tuesday with a trailer load of flattened cardboard boxes and their cardboard container was full to the brim and the guy told me I would have to travel to the landfill site many kilometers away outside of town because the cardboard bin would not be empty until Thursday morning. I also tried to drop off a small 1 lb. propane bottle at the recycling depot and they said they don't take them and didn't know where to take it. I tried several places like the Co-op gas station and they wouldn't take it, although I think they took the larger propane bottles (probably because there was some money in those ones). For municipal or regional governments to try to fight climate change is a joke. Man cannot control the climate. The regional government started making everyone put organics in a bin and said this will keep it out of the landfill site and lower CO2 emissions. This is a lie. Doesn't matter where you place organics; it will still emit the same amount of CO2 into the atmosphere. This just proves their absolute ignorance. They don't know what they are doing. I am not sure about that. It is a very complicated subject. But Trudeau just doesn't get it and is doing next to nothing. I would be willing to give a different party and leader a chance to see what they can do because the Liberals and NDP have had eight years and the problem has just gotten a lot worse. I think drastic actions will have to be taken at all levels of government. But basically we depend on private construction companies to do the job. They will have to be given the keys, resources, and the gate keepers will have to be dragged out of the way, kicking and shouting. That means local governments will have to be legislated out of way and environmentalists subdued and ignored. I am not sure PP's financial incentives for municipalities will be enough to do the job. It may take far more intervention by the federal government and provincial governments.
