Yes, we inherited our Parliamentary system from Britain. Before the Protestant Reformation in the 1500s, Europe was in the dark ages under the rule of totalitarian dictators (Kings, Emperors, and above them the Papacy in Rome). There were very little human rights. They ruled mercilessly from Rome with the Holy Roman Inquisition and burned rebels on the stake or threw them in prison and tortured many. Then in the 1500s, the Reformation came along and various reformers such as Tyndale (who was burned at the stake), translated the Bible into English so the ordinary people could read it. Rome had kept the people in darkness under its system and rule for a thousand years. Now the reformers Martin Luther in Germany, John Calvin in Geneva, John Knox in Scotland, Tyndale in England and others came along and opened the eyes of the people. King Henry VIII was convinced to reject Romanism. After years of struggle, they kicked the Roman power out of Britain and part of northern Europe. As a result, the people demanded elected governments and received them. But because Europe and America had a Judeo-Christian heritage, the principles of democracy and human rights became more important and guided the development of western nations. I agree with Pierre Poilievre, Trudeau is the cause of the Freedom Convoy and the cause of so much division in Canada. He divides Canadians in every way possible. One only need to think about it a little. He has created this mess. His actions have caused the high inflation, high cost of living that many people simply cannot afford. He has been vindictive in his approach to governing and turned Canadians against each other. You see how Liberals operate in various departments. Trudeau brought in extreme gun legislation causing even more division; then they backed down and withdrew after they had caused a firestorm. They brought in legislation allowing dangerous offenders out on bail and causing grief for countless Canadians and killing police officers. This also divides Canadians. Then all the Premiers, police chiefs call for a change in the bail system and instead of immediately rising to the occasion, the justice minister brings in a feel good review system of people wrongly convicted. This makes them look like angels, but they haven't dealt with the issues that really are troubling Canadians, the bail system and the proliferation of illegal guns coming across the border.

Trudeau has broken this country up like no other PM has ever done. He has divided Canadians in every way possible and through various means has made the cost of living impossible to keep up with for many Canadians. He has attacked Canadians in every way possible. This is what caused the Freedom Convoy. Most of the protesters were peaceful people, but he even insulted and attacked peaceful people. He is dangerous and destructive. As a result of this divisive PM we are losing our democracy. A good PM would have united people. He does the exact opposite for political gain.

Basic human rights came through Judeo-Christian civilization down through history. It is the concepts that came from the Bible such as the love of neighbour and respect for individual rights which are implied in the ten commandments as one example. Countries such as China, Russia, and Islamic countries in Africa and the middle east do not have human rights such as an elected government, a fair justice system, right to vote, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom of the press. Non-Christian countries simply do not believe in the sanctity of individual rights in the way western nations do. These rights are generally non-existent in non-Christian countries. These rights did not appear instantly, but developed over time.

We have what everyone calls democracy but if you examine it closely, you find it is full of holes and there is massive room for questioning the concept. What kind of country one has depends on what the people believe. Canada is a mish mash of beliefs and conflicting ideologies. If it is a democracy, it is certainly flawed in many ways. The word democracy is kind of deceptive in a way. The word gives the impression that everything will be fair, moral, and honest. In practice it is far from it. As most immigration is from the third world, huge numbers of leftist supporters are coming to Canada. The leftist ideology seems to appeal to these kind of people. Government is supposed to solve all problems and take care of everyone. What happened to individual initiative, hard work, and personal responsibility? One would think if we had the perfect system, there would be no problems. But the government the people elected has massive failures in many areas. Less than 40% voted for the Liberals and as they are minority, much less than 40%. Perhaps closer to one third. Yet they are being propped up by the NDP who only received around 20% of the vote. The NDP ideology is make the corporations pay and the corporations are greedy. Profit is a dirty word to the NDP. The main talking points of the NDP leaders are greedy corporations and profit is bad. This is Communist ideology. Canadians do not support his ideology but are fed a steady diet of it on the liberal leftist media.

Leftism as a political ideology is evil. That does not mean everyone who follows it or supports it in some fashion is evil. It just means the leftism belief in a general sense is evil. Why? The Bible clearly teaches "thou shalt not steal". Some think that it doesn't apply to the state if the state does it. Anyone who does not recognize that needs to give their head a shake. I have a brother that somehow thinks Socialism is benevolent and is love of neighbour. This is false. The Bible teaches individual charity, not state-ordained redistribution of wealth. Socialism destroys individual initiative and promotes laziness. Why would someone work hard or show initiative in what they do if someone lazy or who doesn't work receives the same from the state? Socialism is contrary to human nature. This has been shown throughout history. That is another reason leftism is destroying western civilization.

Not according to me. I just quoted a number of verses that say you cannot get to heaven by good works. But the bottom line is one can be saved only if God gives his grace and saves a person. Nobody can save themselves. Only God has the power to save a person. That is why we should not take an arrogant attitude toward the Bible or God because it is God's revelation to mankind and is the source of the knowledge of salvation. Leftism has brought us the despicable bail and parole system which has cost innocent police officers and other people their lives. Remember the police officer in Ontario who was killed in the line of duty by a dangerous offender who was let out on bail. And the twelve people on the Cree nation in Saskatchewan who were stabbed to death by a dangerous offender who was let out on parole. Who is being held responsible for letting these people out? One would think those who allowed this to happen or were directed to do so should bear some responsibility. But we hear little of this.
