Should Hamas support rallies in Canada be stopped?

You need to learn some history. Israel existed there several thousand years ago and was driven out of their land. It has been fought over by different groups ever since. Check history of Palestine on Wikipedia. -

These Palestinian demonstrators are supporting terrorism, which may be illegal in Canada because Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization. The supporters of Hamas should not be allowed to be in Canada. -

No, I think you are some kind of extremist. Israel is only defending itself. Self defence is a human right. You posted endless comments about the brutal, unhumane Iran attacking it's citizens, particularly women. Yet you support the terrorist attacks against Israel, which are backed by the terror state of Iran. Isn't that a contradiction? -

Should Hamas support rallies in Canada be stopped?

Who started this current conflict? Who attacked and butchered hundreds of Israeli music festival goers and killed them on October 7th? Who started firing thousands of rockets into Israel on October 7th? Answer: Hamas Who took about 200 innocent Israeli hostages? Answer: Hamas Who has a right to defend itself from such attacks? Answer: The one who was first attacked, Israel quote Dear students, I cannot believe it. How can we wake up every morning since Oct. 7 knowing that young kids are being imprisoned in dungeons simply because they are Jewish and not speak out? How can we accept a world in which young women are sexually enslaved, while others are being tortured, because they were visiting Israel? Why would you respect a campus culture that excuses such abominations? You’ve seen the horrifying images and the despicable videos. You’ve heard the cries of people who were swarmed, beaten, humiliated, raped, burned and slaughtered by Hamas. This bloodbath gave Israelis your age no choice: they must now stand and fight for their homeland, or they’ll be the next to die. You, however, have a choice: you can fight this outrage and make your resistance a generational game-changer, or you can dodge responsibility and continue life as usual — at least until this evil catches up with you eventually. Hamas’ orgy of violence was so monstrous that no fair-minded human could justify it. Beheading babies, kidnapping people confined to wheelchairs and slaughtering whole families is pure evil. Our civilization deems such acts repugnant — and if you have been a long-time critic of Israel, it’s even more important to reinforce that value. That some people, some of your fellow students, justified these acts, blaming the victims for their suffering, is inexcusable. This isn’t about “occupation,” “colonialism,” “imperialism” or “racism.” While we must always tolerate differences, we must also draw some red lines. I will not fraternize with Nazis or racists or their cheerleaders. Similarly, I would never hire, work with, work for, learn from or befriend someone who delighted in these crimes or finds Israel “entirely responsible for all unfolding violence.” No political stance justifies torturing the most vulnerable. Yet some have adopted images of paragliders — which were used by terrorists to raid the Supernova music festival, where they slayed 260 people — as inspiring symbols. For me, freezing out such callous fanatics is easy. I’ve long recognized their Jew-hatred and utter refusal to process new facts. For some of you, I understand it’s harder to distance yourselves because you share common cause with them on other issues, or have even spent years justifying Hamas as pragmatic and Palestinians as oppressed — and thus never guilty of any crimes. But what does it say about us if events, especially such horrific ones, don’t cause us to rethink our assumptions? I had no expectations of these Hamas barbarians or their apologists, so their depravity repels me but doesn’t surprise. I was surprised, however, by many of the snivelling responses to these amoral bullies. I was embarrassed by reports of students turning to administrators because pro-Palestinian demonstrations frightened them. Warnings not to go to class during last week’s “Day of Jihad” also made me squirm. Israelis your age are running toward gunfire. On Oct. 7, Canadians raised just like you were equally heroic. One Canadian who was killed, Alexandre Look, 33, of Montreal, shielded other concert-goers from bullets with his body, while another, Ben Mizrachi , 22, tended to wounded revellers instead of fleeing — and was slaughtered as a result. Yet in North America, students run away from some loudmouths? It’s time to grow a spine. If you feel “uncomfortable,” don’t whine to grownups, but act. Invite your friends to accompany you. If they say it has nothing to with them, then you know they don’t get it. Invite beefy friends from the football and lacrosse team along, too — not to confront (we’re not the violent ones), but simply to deter. Invite your professors to join, especially gender studies profs. If they refuse, ask them to at least comment on Hamas’ rape culture and the delight so many Palestinians took in degrading so many Israeli women. Two years ago, 120 gender studies departments throughout North America denounced Israel’s acts of self-defence against Hamas. So far, I haven’t seen a single academic department denounce Hamas’ anti-woman, anti-human bloodbath. unquote Gil Troy: Students, it's time to find your courage and confront Hamas apologists on campus (msn.com) -
This is how bad things have become in this country now. It has been two years since the heat wave forest fire burned down the town of Lytton in B.C. and the people have not been able to get started having their homes rebuilt. Now we learn it is partly because of some aboriginal archeological digging going on that has found some old aboriginal artifacts. There is also big money involved for a company monitoring the digging to put in services. This has now become a part of reconciliation and the governments are blocking the rebuilding of homes in the town. They gave a company the right to dig the trenches to put in the services to properties and this company is charging about $1,700 per day to have monitors watching the operation for about ten days to see if there any artifacts in the ground. That is an additional cost of about $17,000 for the home owner. This is ridiculous and a huge scam. Archeology work the latest roadblock to rebuild Lytton, B.C.: Mayor (msn.com)

Wasn't that the Karl Marx ideology, each according to their ability and to each according to their need? ? I am sure it was. The Communist Russians thought that was going to create a utopia, but all it created was a monster. Everyone became equally poor. The only ones that had anything were the Communist party higher-ups.

The U.S. and Israel deny that Israel blew up the hospital. They believe it was destroyed by a terrorist missile that fell short. Why do you automatically believe Hamas or their supporters when they are the worst barbaric murderers and liars in the world? -

The television media has policies about showing or not showing grotesque video of victims of violence. Why are you not aware of that? Why play dumb? The media has reported the barbaric cruel attacks and cold-blooded murder of 1,500 people or more over the past week. Why can you not accept that? The rest of the civilized world accepts it. -

How is it that terrorist sympathizers and supporters get approved for immigration into Canada? Trudeau brought in something like 50,000 Syrian refugees after he was elected in 2015. How many of these were screened for being terrorist supporters or screened for being antisemitic? How many of them have been now demonstrating in the streets Canadian cities and yet hold Canadian citizenship or residency status? -
NDP are pure Socialists. They certainly do believe in wealth redistribution. Socialism has been tried in many countries but has been a failure. Lazy people will just see it as a way to live off the government (taxpayers) without having to work and those that work see it as stealing what they worked for. So how do Socialists square that circle? In a world where investors and corporations can take their money and invest it in whatever country they choose, they will choose to move to a more investor-friendly place. That leaves the Socialist or Welfare country in poverty. The good-paying jobs simply flee elsewhere. The welfare state type of government spends vast fortunes providing every conceivable social program to its citizens, at least in theory, but they soon learn the money tree runs dry. They certainly don't have the money to start crown corporations to take over where corporations fled from the country. Bureaucrats generally do not have the knowledge or expertise to run private enterprise either, and systems like public health care start failing as we are witnessing. Politicians are incapable of properly running complex systems like health care. Politicians are also under tremendous pressure from all side to provide funding for everything under the sun.

You love a welfare state. Maybe everyone could just work and let government take 80% of their pay cheques and provide cradle to grave care for everyone. Almost everyone would work for the government. In such a system, government employees would be well-paid and have fat pensions, but everyone else would be barely surviving and would have no freedom. Bit brother would decide everything.

A war criminal is a war criminal. I would not say some are less worse than others. The crimes against humanity are unspeakable and the volume of it is no consolation of any kind. -

quote A pair of Conservative MPs will try to compel a CBC executive and a journalism standards director to appear before a House of Commons committee to defend the company's language guide — which discourages the use of the words "terrorism" and "terrorists" when describing attacks and their perpetrators. Alberta Conservative MP Rachael Thomas, the party's Canadian heritage critic, said in a statement posted to social media that the idea is to hold the Crown corporation accountable for what she calls "its biased coverage of Hamas' attack on Israel." unquote Conservative MPs want to bring CBC executives before Commons committee over 'terrorism' language policy (msn.com) -

So you claim it is but that would be disputed by Israel. On the basis of that claim, do you support Hamas and the murder of 1,200 innocent men, women, children and babies? This seems like a no-brainer. But your anti-Israel stance is completely wrong. The fact is Israel has a right to the land and is recognized as a state by most of the world, including Canada. You are making a foolish argument at a time when Israel is being attacked by terrorists and has a right to defend itself. -

That is false. I gave you the detailed history the land, but you refuse to even look at it. That land has been controlled by many different groups over the centuries. The point is owning a lot by an individual does not determine statehood. I explained the land became the State of Israel in 1948 and was recognized by the world as the State of Israel. Every sovereign country has the right to determine its laws and the administration of land ownership. That is the same in Canada and everywhere else. Yes, sorry. I deleted it and reposted to taxme. -

The area which Israel is located in has been fought over for several thousand years. I gave you the link on Wikipedia that goes into detail of who controlled what over the past several thousand years. Did you even bother to read it? Or are you going to stick to your meaningless Palestinian claim that the land is "stolen". That doesn't help anything. It is completely false. There was no state called Palestine. The word Palestine is a generic word simple referring to the whole area. It was the term given to the general area by the Roman Empire 2,000 years ago. One article says the Romans named it Palestine as a kind of insult to the Jews who lived there for many centuries. The name Palestine is a derivative from Philistines, which were a traditional enemy of Israel. It has been occupied by Jews and Arabs going back thousands of years. But there is much more detail of who conquered and occupied it in the Wikipedia article. History of Palestine - Wikipedia In the 1940s, I believe the area was designated as belonging to Israel by the League of Nations, the forerunner to the United Nations. In 1948 Israel officially became the State of Israel. Many, if not most, Muslim countries do not acknowledge Israel's right to exist. -

After considering the situation, I believe that Israel needs to respect international law for protection of civilians. There should be a safe corridor to get food, medical supplies, fuel, and humanitarian aid in and they should move hospital patients out of the area. Possibly move them to hospitals in Israel if Egypt won't help. If Egypt is refusing to help in this crisis, they must be excluded from having any say in the government of the Gaza. Israel may have to take over semi-permanent control in order to bring order and peace to the area. The people who are being asked to move out of the populated areas need to be put in refugee camps and sheltered and fed and the U.N. needs to step up to look after them until they can return to their homes. The U.N. does a lot of talking. What actual aid and actions are they doing to take care of the civilians? Thirdly, Gaza cannot remain governed as it has been. Hamas must be eliminated and Israel will have to take over governing it at least temporarily until a satisfactory solution is achieved. That will have to be an absolute necessity to avoid this type of war again. But I am not sure the people of Gaza will accept or allow Israel to govern them. They have been used as pawns in the Israel - Palestinian conflict. They need clean water, food, etc. in the meantime. The Bloc leader from Quebec correctly says there will not be lasting peace until Hamas is rooted out. He is correct of course. Terrorists cannot exist in the area and people still expect to have peace. -

Israel has long resisted displaying the gross images for the right reasons. Israel did not see it as the right way to garner international support. It becomes a mud-slinging match and Israel believes it is disrespectful to human life. But if you want some confirmation that images exist, you can read this report: quote The images from the October 7 massacre in southern Israel are extraordinarily difficult to behold. Charred bodies, babies riddled with bullet holes, elderly women shot in the head. The depths of Hamas’s depravity are impossible to comprehend. And yet, after reporters who visited one of the kibbutzim targeted by the genocidal terrorist group last weekend reported that dozens of children had been brutally murdered, the response from some wasn’t horror and revulsion, but rather mockery and incredulity. This was particularly apparent on X (formerly known as Twitter), a cesspool inhabited by some of the absolute worst of humanity, where some users poked fun at the reporters and openly questioned the veracity of their reports. In response, Israel violated a longstanding practice. For years, successive Israeli governments have resisted displaying the mangled bodies, the severed limbs, or the pools of blood produced by Palestinian acts of terror. They did so out of a belief in the Jewish principle of kavod hamet – the dignity of the dead – as well as a refusal to stoop to the level of anti-Israel propagandists, who perversely parade the bodies of dead Palestinians in an effort to garner international support. unquote Graphic images of Israeli terror victims confirmed an awful truth - editorial (msn.com) -
