  1. Try again.
  2. You promote hiijabs and burkas for women. That's disrespectful to the living and the dead. For instance, those raped to death, burned alive, beaten and killed over it, children forced into wearing it. Don't you have any sense of shame?
  3. ISIS wants all of Islam's barbarity to be tolerated and accepted in the West. Or at the very least - ignored and not talked about. Same as you. But yes, I believe religious freedom should have limits. If that makes me a monster in your books, but the guy who cuffs his burka'ed wife across the head A-OK - so be it. I'm happy to disappoint you.
  4. Also interesting that you view me as the radical when I dress however I want, while your sister is "free" while obeying the dictates of her religion and her husband. Very much like ISIS thinking. They must be so proud of you.
  5. It's a misogynistic, extreme, fundamentalist propaganda dress that harms society - men, women and children - and by extension - me and all other women. It harms women all over the world. That you refuse to acknowledge this is very telling.
  6. The funiest was when I told you about my neighbour, who doesn't allow his wife outside the home without a buka and cuffs her across the head as they go to the car. You condemned me for "jumping to the conclusion" that he doesn't respect women. Just another example of how you excuse anything done in Islam and condemn those who call it out.
  7. Yes, the ONLY problem with burkas and hijabs is the people who think they're an extreme, fundamentalist religious garb. What a bunch of nutters, right???
  8. There seems to be no in-between with her - either all women dress to enhance their sexuality or they're panic-stricken that someone may recognize them as being female.
  9. She's trying to slut-shame Western women. Don't fall for it.
  10. Funny how fundamentalist Islamic dress is "no indication" of what they believe, but someone in a KKK hood or a swastika t-shirt - she has no trouble judging. Her standards for Islam and Muslims are non-existent. She has none. Everything they do should be allowed in the name of tolerance, while Western people should go along with it all. And say nothing about barbaric practices. Do you think she even realizes how closely her propaganda and goals matches that of ISIS?
  11. Now you are equating a person's normal and natural desire to take care of their body and have some pride in their appearance as "brainwashing" and that I'm some kind of pathological monster. But Islamic fundamentalist dress is championed by you as being a legitimate "choice". You really are a warped piece of work. You're perfect for ISIS. You champion all the same things they do.
  12. You advocate for unlimited religious freedom for Islam - unlimited in the sense that to you - religious freedom to do whatever one wishes, with no concern for others - is THE most important freedom in Canada. It is not. It's you that is wrong.
  13. I've never felt I needed to dress provocatively. I've never felt coerced by Western society to dress a certain way. I've always been my own person in that regard. If your sister struggles with that, then it has nothing to do with me. It's her own neurosis. I'm not. You are trying to equate my distaste for fundamentalist Islamic covering (which is normal) with some kind of nuerosis or preoccupation with dress like your sister and Islam has. I do not have that issue, not for myself and not for how others dress. Unless it's fundamentalist or extremist. Which they are also free to dress however they want, but not when they are in a position of public authority and are expected to present a neutral appearance. You and your sister are quite free to champion extremist fundamentalist Islamic dress. There is nothing wrong with me for choosing NOT to champion it.
  14. The idea is to show that Western freedoms are not freedoms at all - that the key to freedom is Islam's many rules and regulations for women.
  15. It's me telling you that I don't take orders from you. And also I dont' want to derail the thread by debating bible or koran verses that have nothing to do with the thread or responding to your accusations.
  16. I don't take orders from you.
  17. Yes, I understand all religions do basically the same The difference between us is that while I understand all religion have misogyny (for example) Islam kills and beats women for the smallest of infractions. The Koran gives men - not just permission to beat wives - it is prescribed. It tells them how to do it. Thus the Islamic community looks the other way when it happens. And yes, not ALL Muslims. The same as not ALL Christians or Buddists or Hindus or Pastafarians or whatever other group you want to discuss rather than Islam.
  18. And the cartoons. I see Jesus memes all the time - can you imagine if the world's Christians started killing and rioting every time they saw one? But yeah - Christianity and Islam are EXACTLY THE SAME.
  19. It's also the Koranic verse used to justify murdering journalists who "insult" Islam. So yeah, not as benign as Dia pretends. "Corruption" is in the eye of the Islamic.
  20. Yes, Dia - no one is arguing that misogyny doesn't exist anywhere except in Islam. Islam just takes it to a whole 'nother level. We're talking about headcoverings in Islam and you want to talk about rape culture. No surprise there.
  21. Yes, we know how you feel about this topic. If even ONE Christian does something, it's not an "Islamic" problem then. It becomes a "world problem." How convenient. I get it. I just have difficulty suspending the part of my brain that tells me the vast majority of non-Islamic women in the world are not at risk of being beaten or killed for not wearing headcoverings. I tend to not ignore information like that, while for apologists - it's super easy.
  22. In 57 Muslim majority countries and random honour killings in every other country. ....bit of an understatement. Does it matter? Women are being killed, beaten and abused every day in Islam over these coverings.
  23. Yes. Islam just takes it a lot further and made it into an excuse to kill women.
  24. It sounds much the same. The old trope: "You belong to me, I own you and women are all whores so you will wear what I tell you to wear, when I tell you to wear it."
  25. This wasn't an instruction from God for how men should treat their wives. It was foretelling that men would mistreat women due to imperfection. Funny how everyone quotes that verse, but not the following one, which foretells that it would be damn hard for men to provide for families: All fairy tales, anyways.
