Are you homosexual? If not, then why would what the Bible says about it be relevant to you? You can easily follow it by not being homosexual. Yet, you seem extremely bothered by homosexuality.

I can see why science is irrelevant to you, that's for sure. But really, Betsy......if your only argument against homosexuality is "Because it says so in the Bible", you're practically illiterate. No different than Altai who chooses to remain illerate because she cannot understand more than 2 or 3 sentences put together at a time.

OK. I'll respond with science. In all sexual species, you can have: females be XX and males be X (insects) females be ZW and males be ZZ (birds) females may become female becasue they develop in a warmer environment, and males become males because they develop in a cooler environment (reptiles) females can become females due to losing a penis swordfight (flatworms) males can be born female and change sex because there is a lack of males around (parrotfish, clownfish) some males look and act like females because they are trying to get close to females to mate with them (cuttlefish, bluegills, etc.) or you can be one of thousands of sexes (mold, mushrooms) Did you mean humans? You can be male even if you were born female, if you have 5-alphareductase defiiciency and so you grew a penis at age 12 you can be female because you have an X and a Y chromosome, but your Y is missing the SRY gene you can be male because you have two X chromosomes, but one of your X's has an SRY gene you can be male because one you have 2 X chromosomes, but you also have a Y you can be female because you only have one X chromosome you can be male because you have 2 X chromosomes, but your heart and brain are female ......and vice versa. You can't use science to justify your bigotry and hatred. The world is too weird for that. Strange that your God doesn't know all this. Unless.......you're following a book written by men who didn't have this kind of information available to them at the time, so out of fear and ignorance and desire for power they invented a bunch of nonsense. To reiterate: If you, personally, are against homosexuality then you definitely should not be a homosexual. But you do not have the right to impose your beliefs on others or demand that they follow your beliefs in order to do business with you. If you, personally, believe the Bible is the unerring word of God, you are free to tell others that's what you believe and point out the pertinent Bible verses. You do not have the right to make life miserable for others. It's very sad that you think Jesus gave you personal authority to judge and condemn others. It's very sad that you think Jesus gave you - personally - the authority to impose your beliefs on others. Muslim extremists think the same way as you do. I see no difference between you and Muslim extremists.

You will have to show me where Jesus said "If a person is gay, you must not do business with them in any way. You must not serve them in your business, you must not rent or sell houses to them, you must work to legally deny them any human rights, and you must tell them constantly that they are going to burn in hell." You can personally uphold what you perceive as the teachings of Christ simply by not acting on any homosexual feelings you may have. When you deny rights to other people based on your own personal beliefs, you cross into the "hating someone" arena. Unfortunately, some folks just can't get the difference between the two.....or simply refuse to acknowledge it.

Do you have kids? My kids both had sex questions when they were 6. As a parent, you answer according to their level of understanding and build on that as they grow. Sex Ed began to be taught in schools because a lot of parents were not educating their own children. I think a lot more parents teach their children about sex than in the yeras when I was growing up. Do you have a link to where 6 year olds are being taught in school to have sex with bananas and donkeys? I'd really like to see that.

I'm not seeing that they are calling pedophilia a sexual orientation exactly like heterosexuality or homosexuality. I think you're reading faaaaar too much into it. It is still classified as a disorder. It's still classified as paraphilia. And they are still trying to find ways to treat pedophiles. This is not the case with homosexuality. They have already determined that your Christian freinds' "treatment" for homosexuals is incredibly harmful. It's sad that you don't understand the significance of the "paraphilia" label, or refuse to understand. If your point is that the APA thinks pedophilia is a sexual orientation on the same level as homosexuality - you are reading what you want into that article. Because that is in NO WAY what they are saying. Just the fact that you frantically googled to find something - ANYTHING! - that agrees with your view, and latched onto a phrase that sounded the same without really researching what they are talking about, tells me you have no real interest in educating yourself and are perfectly content to go with "The Bible says so." You really need to read those articles thoroughly. And some other articles too. I know you like things black & white - homosexuality is BAD, the Bible is GOOD. But life isn't like that - human sexuality is not like that. Do a little more research. Please.

Betsy, honestly, there is sooooooo much more to understanding the sexuality spectrum as set forth by the APA. There are many nuamces to it and things are chnaging every day with our understanding of how to define human sexuality. If you were truly interested in understanding it, you wouldn't be taking one quote from an article and saying it proves your point because it mentions sexual orientation. Proof? There is lots of it out there, Betsy. All you have to do is look. I'm sorrynotsorry, but I am going to go with what the majority of the scientic community has stated. I need more than just "It says homosexuality is bad in the Bible". It also says eating shellfish is bad for you, and that you should never mix fabric blends, soooooooooo.......I take the Bible with a grain of salt.
