  1. That some right wing pundit would say that there was illegal voting, and it was mostly for Clinton. Yes, we knew that all along. Fake news from the fake news capital of the world - Trumpland.
  2. I guess you are not familiar with the sweatshops that used to dominate the garment districts in our major cities. Once we started to crack down on the labor standards, the owners got their cronies in government to negotiate away tariffs so they could exploit workers in other countries instead. b.t.w. those $20 pants we used to make here were no better than the ones from overseas today. The only difference is that mom used to sew on a patch when the knee wore out so we used the longer. Today we get our jeans with holes already in them as a 'fashion' statement.
  3. In my case it was family that brought me back, my first child was born in Europe and that was a big consideration in returning.
  4. That is obviously a big problem if it is happening. There are many works of literature that do not stand on their own merit as something to be included in the school curriculum, but with appropriate guidance they can have some benefits. I agree there are other ways of teaching anti-racism. One of the challenges with youth is engaging them, and sometimes fiction is a helpful aid.
  5. More women will suffer from infections and other injuries, and more will die.
  6. I think she is in her late 60's, she has probably perfected it by now.
  7. I wonder what the crowd size is. One metric we have empirical data on is the daily rides on the DC metro 1.1 million - Obama 2008 Inauguration 1 million - Recent women's march 782 thousand - Obama 2013 Inauguration 639 thousand - average weekday 570 thousand - Trump Inauguration (no date needed, there will only be one) I wonder how many it will be today, note that the recent women's march was on a Saturday but today's march is a weekday so it will have that traffic as well.
  8. While O'Leary certainly doesn't have a lot of the vile characteristics of Trump, yes he does have a very narcissistic streak an very little empathy. While he is fairly intelligent (not exceptional, but above average) and is well spoken, he is always focused on himself. Yes he has had some business success, but much bigger failures as well like losing billions for Mattel. Like Trump he is a slimy used car salesman (my apologies to the many good used car salesmen out there).
  9. The Liberal Party created a group to study the issue, Harper went much further with his Ottawa protocol/resolution on anti-semitism. I guess you must think that Harper is the devil himself for that. Would it not be reasonable to see what the results of this group are before going off the deep end, perhaps they might suggest something that does encompass all religions, unlike the previous government. This might be a fix to the very problem you are complaining about.
  10. They don't, I was just pointing out the biased nature of the moderation on this website. It seems that making snide reference to the nightly Twitter habits of the new President is verboten, but far more direct insults to non "right wing" politicians is a daily occurrence.
  11. The question is will those results be correct. The example you give above is a result that can be immediately verified, and if it is not the torture continues. What is the turnaround time for verification because that is a very important factor to consider.
  12. She also emphasized free trade and commitment to the deal with Iran. I wonder how those will go over with the Donald.
  13. Today you call Trudeau a lying sack of crap (along with arrogant shuck and naïve ass), the other day you called Wynne an idiot. I guess insults against anyone that you don't identify as 'right wing' is acceptable.
  14. So you admit that you do not know if any lobbying took place, so stop assuming and making accusations.
  15. Harper might be lifting a lot of weight, but he failed. If this is all about Trump, then Harper has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with getting the approval - period.
  16. It looks like there indeed is voter fraud, and it is on the Trump side, in fact close to Trump. Perhaps he and his cronies should be sent to voter fraud jail.
  17. Time for Canada to focus on Europe and forget Trade Wars Trump. Lots of our produce could be imported from Spain through that new container terminal they are building in Cape Breton.
  18. To fail. That is because better methods of birth control are kept from them, including through ignorance.
  19. Then why is he closing down specific countries where refugees are fleeing terrorism? Yet of course for those countries like Saudi Arabia that represent money he has his arms wide open. Trump doesn't care about people, he cares about money. Get that!?
  20. Perhaps because there are a bunch of hate filled people around spreading Islamophobia, so the Liberal party saw that creating a task force to address that would be helpful. This is no different than the hate filled people around spreading anti-semitism, and Stephen Harper decided to create protocol to address it.
  21. I don't accept the science, all those scientists are liars spreading fake news. Time to torture them and make them tell us what we want to hear.
  22. The Illinois National Guard does not report to Trump, did someone forget to mention that fact to him or is he running on alternative facts?
  23. If you want more Trump, his first post Inauguration interview is on ABC at 10pm tonight.

Trump does not go begging on the CBC like Trudeau did on CBS.

    2. Topaz

      Topaz

Yeah I heard about this last night and that ABC is telling other medias they can only show it until Feb.1st after that they can't.

  24. I belive there is a huge difference between a spill of a couple of hundred logs vs. 2 million barrels of oil.
