  1. I have taken on Faith in the Rebel rag (Halifax story), and essentially forced them to open up their pay for story because they were just spouting nonsense. Spend the extra dollars, and their full story had little more but the chicken shyte deleted my account because they knew I would poke holes in it. Rebel is simply a bunch of bigots hanging around with their own kind reinforcing their own bull.
  2. I don't recall anyone saying that levels inside the reactor building were low and not life threatening. It doesn't take much to stop alpha particles, and a little bit of metal like a few sheets of aluminum will top beta particles. Gamma ray emissions need much more, but the reactor building has thick enough walls to stop them. Of course there are other issues like the inverse square law, the further you get away from the source the strength decreases by the square of its distance.
  3. Levant/Lilly/Goldy have no more credibility than some random youtube contributor, in fact they have less because they have a proven track record of biased lying (alternative facts).
  4. We know you are afraid of Trudeau, not by what he says and does, but by your own prejudices. Mr. Speaker, the Minister of Immigration along with the Minister of Public Safety are very concerned about the situation in Emerson. Indeed, we need to make sure that we are protecting the integrity of the Canadian border and the strength of our immigration and refugee system, and demonstrating that we are there for the security of communities and individuals. Canada will always be welcoming to vulnerable people. We need to make sure that we are doing it the right way to protect them and to protect our country.
  5. We used to have the coureurs des bois which you can think of as entrepreneurs, and then they started to organize into small businesses and became the voyageurs. Along came the massive monied corporate enterprise and established the Hudson's Bay Company. Some of the voyageurs in Montreal tried to form a competitive corporation, the North West Company. Unfortunately during the war of 1812, the Americans burned down a major North West Company trading post and forced it into a leveraged buyout by the Hudson's Bay Company.
  6. I wonder if long time CIA analyst and spokesman for the National Security Council Edward Price would consider moving to Fox news. His work had influence on Presidents Bush and Obama, and if he wants to continue to have influence on the President then Fox news is the appropriate venue.
  7. 500 Sv//hour? Make sure you write out your will quickly. A 5 Sv dose over about 5 hours would be lethal.
  8. So native north Americans had to be "civilized". Yes it is milder than they must be exterminated, but less mild then they must be allowed to progress on their own.
  9. You just cost me $5. Ever so often I pick up one of those tickets, and then leave it on the desk for weeks or even months so I can "just imagine" for a long time. I did pick up one last week, and now dangit I know that it is worthless.
  10. There are two kinds of people:

Those who believe only in themselves, and think discipline means beating the crap out of someone to comply.

Those who believe in humanity, and think discipline is about education and self control.

No, a conservative told me the world is black and white - period.

  11. So how do we solve the problem about government largess to the corporate sector? Do we create a one of a time special for Bombardier, just because you have a bee in your bonnet, or do we address the basic issue? The CTF does not dictate government policy. Yes the current loans to Bombardier highlight the need for something better, so lets do something better.
  12. Yes, the press is lazy in referring to refugee claimants as simply refugees.
  13. Everyone should be held to the same standard. The only ones crying for new laws and jail are the alt-right.
  14. I am demanding true accountability, not biased claims as Canadian Taxpayer Federation is well known for. I am demanding it in 100% the exact same manner from all industries that benefit government largess. Why do you want to hide it for everyone but Bombardier? Why can't we have accurate accounting of all public spending on industry?
  15. I have been consistent in asking for across the board accountability, why is that a problem for you?
  16. I think it is your obsessions that are getting the better of you. I suggest you look up the track record of Diefenbaker.
  17. I always think of shame an an emotion when you are self conscious of having done something improper. It could also be in third person, the emotion associated with being conscious of someone else having done something improper. When in the third person, there is usually a connection with the third person (e.g. parent/child) that binds them. Yes, shame is also used as a verb, although I am not so sure that is only a recent development. Generally linguistic scholars look through old books and newspapers to find the first reference. The King James Version of the Bible is an early English text, and generally uses shame as a noun or in an idiom like "put to shame", I did a quick look and didn't see it used as a verb. It would be interesting to see if any modern translations have used it as a verb.
  18. The Quran preachers are out in force today. They obviously haven't opened up other holy books: If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the Lord thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant, And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel: Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. Yes, all religions are vile and their practitioners should be deported to the stone age where they belong.
  19. Surplus, smurplus, there was no surplus. b.t.w. we were over 1.4% of GDP for military spending in 2009 & 2010 and then Harper got his coveted majority and brought us down to less than 1%. Any imaginary surplus you are claiming would have been on the backs of soldiers anyway. Stop with the silly partisan finger pointing and lets address what we need and how we are going to pay for it. If everyone is not willing to cough up 7% increase in their taxes (personal, corporate, GST, tariffs, etc.) then something has to give.
  20. Remind me not to have you read my dosimeter. Typically we receive around 2-3mSv per year. If a nuclear industry worker gets more than about 20 mSv/year then they start to get worried.
  21. Not sure where you get that figure from. I have been trying to find it, and while I can get good breakdown by program there is no detail by personal vs. equipment. If your figure is correct, then we are spending $120k/person, both uniformed and civilian. While there are no doubt some that make that and much more, I expect on both sides there are a lot of entry level soldiers and even civilians. Yes, certainly on the real high-end systems but they are not the bulk. Also we don't have to own the entire system, or even do final assembly as the shipbuilding contract is focused on, some of the high value subsystems are much more lucrative.
  22. Sweden - population 10 million, GDP 270 billion Canada - population 35 million, GDP 690 billion Time to invest and compete, and as I said lets compete in technologies that we can also find civilian uses for so we can get an even larger market here and abroad.
  23. Is he into beheading people?
  24. We are not talking about beheading anyone, we are talking about hate speech. Did you miss the topic?
  25. We got high-tech systems, we don't need no more. If this is about dollars, then keep those dollars in Canada. Invest in developing Canadian technology, especially technology that we can sell to others in both military and civilian roles.
